  1. ...and get a touchdown called back for excessive celebration when a receiver shows them off a bit to much following a score? I say wear them for the Washington game - what could possibly go wrong there? It's a good thing you can't get a touchdown or even first down "called back" because of excessive celebration. Starting this year you can if you celebrate on the way to the endzone. Although I realize that's not what he's describing. All of this makes me wonder, are refs going to flag Blackshirts now for throwing the bones since you're no longer supposed to do anything to draw attention to yourself?
  2. He likely would have beaten out Hagg. Pretty easily imo. Hagg was solid but not spectacular. Ehhh Hagg was light years ahead of Prater in terms of versatility. That position was specifically invented for Eric Hagg. Now that he's gone it no longer exists.
  3. I'm behind Beck 100%. Bo wouldn't have hired him if he didn't believe in what he brings to the table. I guess you could say I'm more worried about the upcoming season than Beck as a hire.
  4. I thought we were told he called the plays in the Holiday Bowl . That did not turn out very well, but as stated earlier, I agree that it all hinges on TM and if he can get back to where he was before the MU game, and sustain it. When TM excelled, the whole offense followed suit. That young man has a lot of pressure on him. I'm pretty certain Watson called the Holiday Bowl. I guess the uncertainty of everything is what worries me. Beck's never done this before, TM might not be healthy, no experience behind him. 1 proven RB, 1 proven WR, and I can't remember the last time I felt good about the O-line. It could all go horribly wrong in a hurry, or Beck could be the next great OC for all we know. Just a lot of uncertainty on offense and it's very worrisome to me.
  5. Very worried. He's never called a game at this level. There will be a few bumps in the road.
  6. Yeah that doesn't make any sense. I just assumed it was some sort of forum inside joke. Yeah I don't get it. May as well advocate wearing turquoise uniforms. At least we wouldn't look like a poor man's Iowa Hawkeyes squad.
  7. It takes a long time for high ankle sprains and turf toe injuries to heal. Especially when you're not given the chance to let it heal. This is something I've criticised Bo for several times. I agree he should have been given more time. They brought him back to soon, only to have the ankle reinjured several times. That's something that just shouldn't happen.
  8. It's never a good idea to just throw out reason and logic. I honestly can't bring myself to care about what Hujan thinks of TM. Hate on the kid all you want, but if you're insisting rumors about Martinez are true, then back it up. That "it's true because you haven't disproved it" line of reasoning doesn't hold up.
  9. You do realize the ridiculousness of what you posted, right? You are claiming that Martinez IS a leader, etc. Why should you not be held to the same burden-of-proof standard? Because you threw out your opinion first? Why is the status quo that Martinez is all things great and he who doubts that must prove it beyond all doubt? The status quo is that Martinez is an unknown. Everything else, whether positive or negative, is an opinion and nothing more until proven otherwise. Can we at least agree on that? Because I didn't claim he was a leader, now you're just blatantly making stuff up. You claimed that the rumors about Taylor must have at least some truth to them because they haven't been disproved. Sorry my man, logic simply doesn't work that way.
  10. Personally, I want the guy who gives us the best chance to win to play, don't care what number is on his jersey. I don't care what you think about Martinez or any other Husker player. I was just pointing out how your logic is reeeeeeally flawed Hujan.
  11. Your statement is circular and makes no sense. A rumor is an unverified account. Nothing more, nothing less. Some people insist on waiting for complete confirmation before they believe something; others are content to make a decision based on the information available, even if there is no absolute confirmation of that fact. I suppose you believe Osama bin Laden is still alive? No, I don't. His death has been confirmed. That has nothing to do with this. If you're going to claim something about Taylor Matinez, the burden of proof lies on your shouders. You can't say "it hasn't been disproved, therefore it's true". Doesn't work that way. That's a logical fallacy. But I can say, "It hasn't been disproved, therefore I believe it." Or, "It hasn't been disproved, therefore it may be true." Sure you can. But as Knapplc said, don't act surprised when people don't take you seriously. I heard a rumor that you wear a pink tutu and play tea party with stuffed animals Hujan. It hasn't been disproved, therefore I believe it. I don't care too. K. Anyone hear the rumor about Hujan wearing pink tutus? You know what they say, "where there's smoke..."
  12. I remember something about George Foreman being a Husker fan.
  13. Take a look for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gPe211xAh4&feature=youtube_gdata_player As for the backup, he isn't as fast as Martinez, but he seems to be a better runner than our backups last year. So I think changing the O to suit the backup will be less of an issue than last year.
  14. Crouch ran pretty straight early in his career. He learned to stay low over time, just as Martinez should. Take enough of those hits, it becomes instinct to protect yourself.

  18. You see Hujan, rumors are simply just rumors until they are proved to be true. That's how, ya know, logic works.
  19. He'd have to be mentally deficient to consider O$U at this point.
