  1. So these losing programs all around the country don't have good fan bases? I've heard everything now. i really shouldn't have to spell this out. if nebraska didn't have the following it does it wouldn't be the program it is. if we were not the program that we are, the big12 wouldn't care if we left, and the big10 wouldn't "turbo-acclerate" their process just to give us an option if they do. everything is relative, so yes i think its fair to say that we can be competitive in any conference Nebraska plays in because we have a fanbase that will always travel, will always watch, will alway support the college. and to answer you question, no all of these losing programs around the country don't have good fan bases, at least very few of them do.
  2. actually... http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/06/big-ten-meets-will-likely-speed-up-timetable.html belay my last then. Seems the Big10 doesn't want to get upstaged them west coasties. personally i hope the big12 stays put being that i'm located in kansas, and at least have an opportunity to see one husker game in manhattan or lawrence, shoot OU and OSU are about as close too. But Michigan, and Ohio is where the extended family lives so it ain't looking to bad either way. If you're willing to travel to Norman or stillwater than why not Lincoln? You'll always have 7-8 home games a season you can attend. namely my connections in those four cities. lincoln is 5 hours. most of my friends are fans of those four schools. making it easier to get tickets. believe me, i'll go to lincoln if that is where i have to go.
  3. Nebraska will be competitive any conference we play in, because of the fan base. read some of the articles posted on huskerextra, chris or brian outlines why we keep our recruiting pipeline. not because of who we play, but the relationships our coaches have made with the school in texas and california. look at how many players we are getting from cali, recruiting in the rust belt will happen with bo and company. I mean he's a OSU allum. imo

  5. If there is in fact a time line, Nebraska stays, unless the B10 does something accelerated, which i doubt. Nebraska stays, we dominate next year...and texas wishes we went to the B10 and runs to the pac-10 with their tail between their legs
  6. i think thats all it was....but i wasn't there ha ha
  7. we dislike them now, we'll dislike them then, and forever
  8. Bad Texas, Bad Baylor to the Pac-10! A 22-team conference! The Big 12 still thinking it has some modicum of control over what happens! Texas in the eye of the storm! All this and more as the Conference Expansion Carousel spins! Ultimatum. This was the splashy news this morning, because "ultimatum" is a fun word to say, I guess: The Big 12 has given Nebraska and Missouri a deadline to commit to the conference or explore joining the Big Ten. I'm not entirely sure why those two teams are the ones the Big 12 is focusing on, though. After all, their biggest problem should be... Texas Defection. ...the chance that every Texas team in the Big 12 is now a Pac-10 target. Apparently, Texas politicians are okay with the biggest steer on the range, Texas, leaving for the Pac-10—as long as Baylor is invited, too. As those teams would be part of the six-team exodus that would also likely include Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma, it might mean the Big 12 loses half its conference and the Texas TV market in one fell swoop. And that would be bad. But then, so would... Total Assimilation. ...the full merger of all 12 Big 12 schools with the Pac-10. That's one of four scenarios the Pac-10 has before it. It's probably a less appealing one than the six-team raid, but it might be second on the list, ahead of adding Colorado and Utah to form a Pac-12 and standing pat. But the looming doom and gloom of those scenarios is probably just a distant dark sky at the moment, because Texas has no incentive to rush to anything except its best deal. The Longhorns are the bluest of blue-chip stocks on the college football trading floor, and in the enviable position of being able to marginally improve on a pile of riches or stand pat with a fortune every other program envies. UT doesn't need to be hooked up with other teams to be raking in the dough (cough, Iowa State and Kansas State, cough), and has been rumored to be working on its own TV network for years. If the primary allure of the Pac-10 is the riches of a prospective TV network, why should Texas take on more travel costs for a bit more revenue when staying put and working its own broadcast contract out might make more sense and cents? And what if the SEC comes calling? Nothing's been said publicly just yet, but there's a lot of logic to a marriage of college football's richest conference and its richest team, both in ledgers and on maps. The carousel hasn't stopped spinning yet. With conference presidents' meetings ending today, this might be the day for a bold move. Or it might not, if new variables like the SEC come into play. Lots of things are happening, many rumors are flying, and calling it all crazy would be an understatement. But it's not done yet. Not nearly.
  9. I said....we'd scheme a TD.....check Defense would score one or put us in line for one....check Henry kicks a few FG one down and a few more to go......... Go big red!!!
  10. you saying you don't want to see her soaking wet???? What kinda man are you? yeah i said it
  11. Easily Nebraska schemes a single TD drive wins the field position battle and is able to make 3 fg Nebraska either gets a D td or puts the o in the redzone for a td Nebraska plays as good or a little less then they have all year Final score Nebraska 23-28 area Arizona 13-20 area IMO
  12. Oregon is the best D they played all year, and its a pretty good one, but no elite by any means.
  13. Just something to think about when we start to look at the Huskers next game. There is not a lot of room for debate when it comes to how good NU's D is. And no one will debate much over the fact of how flat our offense has played most of the season either. Though I do believe that Bo and Co. can scheme at least one fifty plus yard drive, I see one coming off the D, and another one coming off of field position. Throw in a FG or two, and a bit of good luck. D plays like it has all year, maybe giving up one bonehead TD and a couple of FGs. Nebraska wins 27-13 Your thoughts.
  14. Listen, its not the coaches, its the players. Lee is substandard, or at least he just isn't fit for this spot light. He either is going to grow or he's not and it looks as if he's not WR are the biggest reason why nothing can be done on offense. They won't catch the ball when its right there in front of them. The offense as a whole is just flat. Give the offense some time to put the right players in the right place and with four years under the new regime, ie all his players we'll see better offensive production. we could still be a good team with what we have, they are just going to play better TTU is a good team, not surprised we lost to them. I was surpised by their defense, Ours played as good as they could of with the other side draining all of the life out of the team.
  15. Look. Last year we went up against the two of the top teams in the country on the road. if we had played texas and osu, it more then likely is a wash every year. texas and ou are interchangable in difficulty. you can throw in osu and ttu in the same converstaion as far as caliber. a&m is probably the dark horse in the whole thing, but we all know that we were sweating baylor with griffing at the helm. so i donlt believe when it comes to which part of the south we play we dodge a bullet. at least anytime lately. all good teams. all have players and the want to beat us. i've said it before. we are NU and everyone brings their best game when they play us regardless if we are "back" or not imho
  16. I'm sorry. That's never happened to me before. I must be tired. it was, i now look like quagmire after he discovered internet porn. your welcome husker nation
  17. I liked what I saw last week when NU used the 4-2-5 and got hits right after the catch. I feel that if Nebraska wins on saturday that could pave the way for a sweep of the rest of their schedule. I "believe" the TTU offense poses the most threat to a defense due to the high caliber offensive scheme. Texas handled it and I believe that our D is good enough to slow them down, but if they can't I don't expect them to with against the likes of OU and Texas. Which are both "good" offenses, but have a ligitimate D to go with it. Your thoughts
  18. How many times can you vote, i just tried at least fifty and it ketp adding to it. all well Tebo got about four votes the whole time. I hope Sue gets a good shake at this thing. Tired of seeing QB's and such only getting the look at it.
  19. OU has been beating them selves all year, so I don't really believe they are as "bad" as they seem. Beating OU is still going to take a much better offensive effort, and something a long the same of what we've pulled out against VaTech, and MU defensivly. We'll get a much better look at what our secondary defense is like this weekend when we play a scary offense, only looking better the last couple weeks. TTU can easily beat us if NU doesn't keep the ball infront of the safties, I was excited to see Bo use the 4-2-5 defense against MU because I think its effective against the spread. Blitz either DB on either side of the line, mix in a Mike back from time to time, and play up close and zone, i think we have a good chance to beat TTU. A win against TTU, will probably pave way for a OU win, and maybe a BCC. A lose and I see them losing to all three. Just my opinion
  20. Nebraska played great def. but I think we will have a big challenge next week with TTU. Another pass heavy offense, so who knows, cuz we didn't get the full MU pass offense..today. TTU is a game that could very easily lose.
