I get what you are saying. I really think you have to throw in is this player a once in a generation type player. Even AA isn't one of those. He is a great back, and we are lucky to have him, but he's not a Berry Sanders, or Bo Jackson.

On the other hand you can argue that Suh was part of a system that he worked within. Both had great success. and both could be considered once in a generation type players at least on the college level. So my question is this. Do you change a circle hole to a square hole and make it fit? Or do you change the square peg to a circle peg and make it fit?

I think this is because Nebraska for a really long time has plugged the right type of person into a position and they excel in that position. They are not NFL type of players, but their good at what they do.

Turner will probably move to Quincy's spot next year, and westerkamp will take the slot position. Turner came on strong in the final games of the 2012 season, I think his absence in this season was due to injury, next year should be different.

o start off I know the bracket I made is junk. I just picked team on a whim of who I think might win on that day. Anyways. You can't change the conferences by relegating them to what we want them to suit our needs of a playoff. Conferences are much more than just football, and you change them for football you change everything in all sports, can't be, and shouldn't be done. College football is different than the NFL namely on the traditions we have. Our post season traditions are conferences, and bowl games. The non conference is junk, that's a tradition we can do without. Every year college basketball creates a new schedule, and the fact that they say that footballs needs years in preparation for it is a joke, and cop-out. A Conference title game loss shouldn't be counted against a team when they lose. A buddy of mine discussed this over lunch the other day. First game is play one of the small schools to give them an opportunity to play a big name school and get a paycheck. Non CCG conferences play 9 games CCG conferences play 8 games, 1 game to determine AQ *This should allow for all of these conferences to establish their divisional winners 32 teams gives 5 additional weeks to the season for max total of games played 16 for two teams max. You can't have different teams playing on the same field for 4 consecutive games. Fans won't travel week in and week out to far off places. There is a big difference flying a team of 12 players and maybe 5-6 support staff compared to flying a team of 85 plus staff. Teams who lose early in the season what happens to them. If it WERE up to me this is how I would do it. I used strength of Schedule and multiplied it by winning percentage to get final rankings. I'd to hear what you think.

I think the conference change exploited the weakness that we had on D, aside from that Penn State had really good success in their early years of the B1G. I believe they won the conference the second year, but posted a record of 61-10 their first five seasons.

I throw this quote in to the category of "I'm tired of the question, if they are going to fire me now, there isn't much to be done about it." Anyone puts up a wall on a particular subject, and like anyone else goes home to his own thoughts. Maybe he didn't care, maybe he does care, maybe both, but the words are not what is most telling to me. The context in which it was used does. He was tired of it all. I believe there was some truth to the rumors about Eichorst sending feelers to potential coaches. I guess belief is just like faith in that you hope? I know that there was a post brought up earlier about something like this, and it just doesn't make sense. In today day an age, you don't put feelers out there without people not knowing. Or that its very unlikely that it gets by without people not knowing. With so many people wanting to be the one that "knows" something and they have to share it, I would bet it would be all over the place by now. In Eichorst statement he was pretty clear that if he had said something earlier than what he did, and that he still talked earlier than what he wanted to, but he felt people would create some sort of benchmark. Hell, as soon as he did say something people were already trying to read into what he said saying that oh he is leaving the door open for something after the bowl game. I don't know anything, and hell maybe he's smarter than all of us. He is a Moneyball type of a guy.

This whole season was enigmatic. what he said makes sense though. I could see where they would have created the benchmark.

Rumor has it Del Rio was the first choice, but he wouldn't allow an announcement until Denver's season is over. Hayden feared the impact that would have on recruiting and thus took Del Rio out of contention for the job. Makes sense. This is the same reason I don't think there will be a major coaching change for us this year. Have to do it early, wait to long and you really hurt yourself in the recruiting. These current two weeks are vital.

IMHO Westercamp isn't the problem. I don't really know how much we take into account how hard it is to field a ball with 2 or more guys always breathing down your neck when your trying to catch a ball. I think the odds of someone actually faking is well less then a muffed punt. Have to play the odds.

Mack Brown will be the hottest name out there if he gets fired. Teams like Oak Lawn Retirement community will be so happy to have him.

Nothing, but............................ I am going to sit here and have faith that this year was kind of an enigma. Lots of Talent, Lots of Injuries, Lots of Expectations, Lots of Drama. The drama sucks, but I think it will push the team closer as they fight through it. Next year barring the injuries should be better than this year. If not, I think its a reboot.

Anti/Pro Bo we can all agree that our huskers are basket cases. The Solich/Callahan/and Pelini years have all been about the same. Shooting themselves in the foot, often beating themselves more than the other team beating them has plagued this team longer than Bo has been here. As much as I am disappointed in the beating ourselves in recent years, I have a gut feeling that we would be much worse off firing Bo. History shows that patience pays off. Nebraska won't 9 games next year with a new coach. Nebraska might be better after that first year. Recruiting won't magically get better. We are not a destination place. You might not take this as being objective, but all things relative who the hell knows. One thing I do know, is I'd rather be what we are today than a bottom feeder and a shell at the very least what we are today.

I gave up on reading page two of this, but I am throwing my two cents in. this is a COLLEGE football program. At the UNIVERSITY of Nebraska. I just like everyone else feel like something is missing in this program but lets not loose site of what is really important. Bo is running a good clean program. Winning football games, and granted loosing games in embarrassing fashion. History shows that having patience pays off in the end. For all of you who sit at your computer and armchair coach....SHUT UP. be an unconditional fan, love our huskers for better or worse or go find another team to be a bandwagon fan of. Must be the sun...and the smog. initiate husker meltdown, and the fire bo speak. I want the huskers to win as much as the next guy, a. You are setting yourself up b. You will bring the rest of us down with the meltdown that will ensue.

Another aspect I would like to point out was the fun that the kids have playing like this. Its no secret that our special teams have had a lot to be desired for. what do you think the appeal would be? Kids are drawn to different Oregon is catching on fire and their uniforms have a bit to do with that. I think it would be awesome, but it would have me on edge a lot of the time. The way our d has played the last 6 quarters I would have a lot more confidence.

They were also head to their (by far) lowest statistical outputs of the season. I don't know anything about Indiana's offense and their tendencies and schemes, but the only way we have success running the ball is if Armstrong can be serviceable and accurate in the passing game. MSU is going to put 8-9 guys in the box every play, as they are not scared in the least to leave their corners on islands. I really hope they put 8-9 guys on the line...we'll option off that all day long. Maybe a few times during the game. More if they use it out of different formation. If they are as good as advertised then it won't work more than a few times. Can't win with that.
