  1. Annoucement for the PC @ 2:30 within the hour
  2. We will know no later than 2:30 (press conference)
  3. We had more yards in defensive penalties with their backup in then they had gain legitimately. Regardless of the excuses, we completely shut down their backup qb, which is what you're supposed to do. Even with Robinson in the game, we probably win. Michigan still does not score 20, though they may make it to the endzone. The 3 picks probably still happen. Bo's plan was going to be effective. That was already evident. They probably wouldn't have needed 20. How many three and outs did they have when Shoelace left the game? With Shoelace, they definitely would have limited the amount of posessions our offense had. Also Dennard was throwing some great balls to keep the drives going, I doubt he would keep that up all game if he hadn't gotten hurt.
  4. We actually ate at Schmidt's Sausage Haus and enjoyed it immensely, great brats, red cabbage, and cream puff. The buffet was great and fast, the wait surprisingly was only about 15 min and then all you can enjoy/eat.
  5. I was at the game and I was pissed that they said we disrepected the band, when they completely disrespected the visiting team by not allowing them to have a warm up. Football was priority one and every team is supposed to be allowed to warmup at halftime. They had 20 min's to get it done and they did not. If they were running behind they should have removed one of the video game drawings. You do realize kickers can pull muscles not warming up right and also miss field goals for not getting to practice. I am sorry but had OSU not disrepected NU first, NU would not have (probably unintentional had they know how sacred this SCRIPT thing is) had 2 players run on the field to do what every football teams has always done at everygame and at every stadium and warm up and thus disrespecting OSU band people. PS our team didn't get to warm up because there was 1 min left when the script exited the field and the players got on the field.
  6. I did attend the game and all the pregame festivities. I arrived on Friday and went to a restuarant call Thurman's and after 2hours and many beers final got to eat the biggest and best hamburger I have seen/eaten. During the wait I talked to several OSU fans and they were very nice and informative. They said they wanted to treat NU fans the same as they were treated in Lincoln and to be honest I think they succeeded. BTW the hamburger I ate had 3x3/4 pound hamburger patties, half-pound or so of ham, 6 slices of bacon, lots of cheese, jalepenos, and mushrooms and was amazing. I didn't finsih no worries. Saturday I went and toured the campus and scouted out our game plan for the day. I was impressed with the stadium and thought it was kind of similiar to Memorial. We went to several bar's and talked with alot of OSU fans and each were kind and even bought us drinks. Furthermore we were invited to several tailgates and were able to go to a couple and had a great time. One thing I did not know was how OSU fans are so into their band but it compares to Texas A&M kind of passion imo. The only real issue outside of losing was at halftime. The band took so long that during the script part, that 2 NU player's came out to try and get 2 quick warmup kicks in and were booed. One OSU fan turned to me and said that was so disrepectful and I did reply with the fact that it was also disrepectful to not allow NU to warmup and I left it at that. I don't think he realizes that the band is not a requirement to play football and if they went any longer the ref's would have had to boot them from the field. I am not kidding though, our players did not get on the field until 1 min and did not have time to throw the football or anything else. Anyways, it was fun and I look forward to seeing another game someday in Columbus. OSU fans, thanks for being great hosts to Huskers fans during our stay. Go Big Red!!!
  7. I am going up with my cousin and staying at the crowne plaza, let me know if there are any husker gatherings would love to hang.
  8. Doesn't the ball have to be somewhat catch-able, for it to be dropped? I find it pretty hilarious that you think a ball has to hit a receiver in the chest for him to catch it. The rule has always been "If you get two hands on it, there is no excuse for dropping it". Do you think that every pass hits Calvin Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald in the numbers? Those guys still make the catch, don't they? Both parties are equally responsible. You can't demand near perfection from a quarterback, and then justify receiver mediocrity on the same hand... But I do agree that any increase in his comp % won't be because of a lack of drops. More than anything, I'd say that being in Beck's system for another year will be the difference. I don't know, I've never regarded comp % as that meaningful of a stat...Nick Foles completed 70% last year at Arizona, and look how well his team did. I'd rather see Nebraska utilize more mid/range downfield throws and have a lower percentage than incessantly throw dump offs and have a good percentage. So if I launch the ball as hard as I can (what Taylor does - according to our WR corps last year) at your feet, and you make an effort to catch it, and it hits both of your hands, it's your fault for dropping a laser that is 3 feet too low? C'mon. Oregon - I can understand your arguement but there were so many passes that were in the chest area that were dropped at a much higher percentage than most other teams that play division 1 football. I honestly think that if the receivers catch those balls this year and everything is the same as last year, Taylor hits 60%. With that said I will also say if the same balls are dropped this year but Taylor's footwook is improved that it also would be 60%. What I hope is that both are improved and he completes 65%+. GBR
  9. I finally found it! It's still there!! Interesting!! I know it's Wikipedia but still interesting, especially since it's still on there! http://en.wikipedia....uskers_football I just deleted him. http://en.wikipedia....uskers_football Got to love Wikipedia. You took it down.....yet failed to replace his name with "Badgerfan". haa now I'm on the staff Also lets put this into perspective: New Offense Sophomore QB Mediocre OLine Mediocre Defense New conference Maybe just maybe, all of these played a part in how this season turned out, I didn't list injuries either
  10. That is just because TO is trying to downplay the situation before he lets everyone know hat we can't hire Badgerfan. The Fairbury hotdog request was just too high of an asking price. We cannot hire him anyway. He would install the Cosgrove defense whenever we played Wisconsin. Isn't that the defense we played this year?
  11. go take a look at his numbers while he was the DC at OU...he's a damn good DC. Head coaching is a completely different type of job. Yea, with Oklahoma's talent year in and year out, you'd better have a good defense or there's something really wrong with your philosophy. Oklahoma is one of the few Universities that pretty much reloads on the best talent in the country every year. I guess I am always more impressed by the guys who do more with less. OU was very mediocre for about 10 years and because of that they weren't the recruiting Kings at the time Mike Stoops was first there. Mike did it with some talent but not to the level OU gets now. We saw NU defense this year with Bo taking a step back and being a full time Head Coach and it wasn't pretty, so compare that to Mike stoops as Head coach with lesser talent then NU. I will take BO or MIke as our DC, they are proven and some of the best defensive minds in all of college football
  12. I currently live in Oklahoma and unfortunately have lived here the last 15 years of my life. I would say that Dean Blevins, IMO, is very creditable and typically does not go out on a limb in his reports. I would think he is hearing things that sound very positive but even he says its not a done deal. I hope things change but I would believe him in this instance that Mike is likely to be going to OU.
  13. I will tell you why we didn't throw the deep ball, 25 mph winds, the only deep ball thrown by martinez was caught up in the wind and fell like a dead rock, could have been picked off if the defense was ready to look for it to die in the air like that. I bet the defense would know this and expect it on the next deep ball. No wind/little wind and we would have had it in our playbook for sure.
  14. I am tired of the nonfans that claim they are fans for our Huskers. HuskerBCS you remind me of my nephew who says he is a Husker fan but really isn't. He actually was rooting for OSU to beat us because he wanted so badly for BO and Martinez to look even worse. So he can say I am right or look at me I am not a sunshine pumper. As a fan it is ok to questions some things but to only look at the bad and not the good and to not use simple commmon sense, shows me that you are not a Husker fan but rather a fan of hating Huskers. I am going to repost the stats from earlier in this thread to make a point that even when a QB is playing at a high level for multiple games and shows significant signs of improvement and decision making that "YOUR KIND" can not only not acknowledge the positiveness of it but rather still bash a HUSKER PLAYER that is giving his all and playing as good as most QB's in the NCAA. BTW the number of posts do not indicate ones football intelligence, I would wonder how many posts Nick Saban has on the alabama board, probably none he must be dumb. I despise your so called "KIND" get out of our beloved Huskers forums and games and find some other team to belittle and hate on. I would rather have sunshine pumpers only than you. Thanks. Since Wisconsin, Taylor has: -Completed 68% of his passes (64/94) -Thrown 6 touchdowns -Thrown only two interceptions -Has not fumbled (or lost one, anyway) -Has an average QB rating of 144.28 (one spot behind Arkansas' Tyler Wilson if he kept that for the whole season) -Has rushed 51 times for 230 yards (4.5 yards/rush) and a touchdown
  15. I would like to point out that this is the first year of this offense. The offense since the Wisconsin game has had many long sustained drives and looks to finally be at the point that everyone is on the same page with this new offense. Second, Taylor is playing at a much higher level since the Wisconsin game as well and against good defenses. You do realize the learning curve this season has been for all the offensive players and inexperienced players right. Well again since the Wisconsin game guess who's passing completion has been over 63%, that is right Taylor Martinez. That 63 percent was against OSU, MINN, MSU and I hate to say it but the last 2 games our wr's have played poorly imo at catching the ball so it could of been even higher. I would take Taylor over any QB right now to run our offense. Any........GBR
  16. Coker has had a good season but the only stat that he leads Rex Burkhead in is rushing yards by about 80, Rex has a better ypc, TD's. But the biggest difference is who each team played and right now Iowa State/Penn state might have been your best opponent vs ours of your choice, Wisconson, Ohio st, MSU you could even say Washington. I can only imagine the stats Burkhead would have right now with Iowa's current schedule.
  17. Obviously the coaches didn't follow or watch the vandy vs Ark game last night because they is no way they are 8th team in the country. Vandy did all they could to give ARk the game and finally succeeded in doing so
  18. I heard that carnes might not have been able to play himself thus martinez finished the game
  19. Over - they wont be able to run. O/U - Plays run out of the diamond formation 10.5 Under - but I hope not. O/U - Plays run out of the wildcat - 4 Under Martinez longest run 35 yards. I'll be optimistic, OVER! O/U 80,000 fans pissed off over the 11am start. Way over Spartan score 17 pts
