I don't care if the QB is a terrible runner...I want a QB that can get rid of the ball quickly & make smart, accurate passes to receivers I'm not saying I want us to never recruit dual threat QBs...just saying IMO good decision making, accuracy, & not turning the ball over are way more important at QB than whether or not he is a running threat

I like your gameplan skersfan...I just fear that if the running game is working efficiently...Tim Beck will try to go multiple & air it out...& air it out some more... I hope Tim Beck calls a great game but I am glad this will be the last 1 he calls for us... Who knows, maybe Tim Beck will call a great game now that he doesn't have Bo breathing down his neck...

The quarterback doesn't need to be a running threat...that is the running backs job. The quarterback's job is to command the offense & get the ball in the hands of the teams playmakers, make smart decisions & avoid turnovers. If the QB can do all these things & also be a running threat, awesome!

Fair enough skersfan...I agree with everything you said... My issue is Papuchis making excuses for his job performance to the media...the university isn't paying him north of $200,000 a year so he can play crybaby to the media about how he never really got to run the defense. Cut the excuses, John, & get the **** to work EDIT - I'll add that everything Papuchis said may very well be 100% true. Thats something that could be discussed with a potential future employer during an interview...it shouldn't be brought up to media 5 days before the bowl game

Not mad at all Mr. Watson...just disgusted & ready for Tim Beck & John Papuchis to GTFO. I am glad Bo is gone...but I find it unprofessional & cowardly how Beck & Papuchis have both (when speaking to media) thrown their former boss under the boss (something neither of them would have enough spine to do if he were still here). EDIT - I suppose Beck never threw anyone under the bus he just said "No comment" when asked if Pelini let him run the offense the way he wanted to. I just don't like the guy. Papuchis' comments in the posted article just reek of excuses...pretty sure John Papuchis' is making six figures so how about taking some accountability for your job performance instead of saying you didn't really have any say in how the defense was ran.

I expected nothing less than this 'throw Bo under the bus now that he's gone' crap from his spineless 'yes man' coordinators. Yes, I am sure Bo micromanaged them & made their jobs difficult. Guess what? They could have left & got a different job...they chose to keep working for Bo.

StPaulHusker - I think (if I were a head football coach) you look it as who will make a bigger impact in the upcoming season. If we have one slot & we can get a guy who will make more of an impact here & now...take him. Otherwise keep Roach. He's a good tackler & we need those on defense

I guess "negativity" was a bad choice of word...teachercd's comparison to the Sean Fisher situation is what brought that word to my mind... The dude knows how to tackle...we don't have too many players in the back 7 who do...so I think it would be a positive if he came back

What's with all the negativity here? He is one of the very few players in the back 7 who actually knows how to tackle. I would love to have Trever Roach back.

Hell yeah! Great to see Ameer get some national recognition for his play. He was playing as good as anyone in college football prior to getting injured chasing Tommy's fumbled snap (IMO). Gregory was a beast as this season...glad to see him get some recognition.
