i'm sorry...i've never been that hyped for a husker game where i didn't get sleep. i don't play so i don't have that much invested. i want them to win certainly and will be crushed if they lost, but let's put things in perspective, it's only football. inb4 man card revoke. Guess a little sarcasm doesn't go very far? In all honesty, I'm a bit of an insomniac anyways. Any anticipation for anything makes sleep difficult to come by. Doesn't help that I can see Memorial Stadium from my window...

Might as well stay up all night. There's NO WAY I'm getting any sleep. In exactly 24 hours, we'll be nearing/in the middle of halftime, with the score (hopefully) in the, ohhh, 27-0 ballpark?

Although I fervently disagree with pretty much everything Obama stands for and think he amounts to nothing more than a detriment to this nation, I don't think giving a speech to students is anything to be alarmed at. Several past presidents did the same thing (Bush 41, Reagan). What I had a slight problem with was some of the corresponding assignments. Apparently the Dept. of Education has already changed the controversial stuff, but some of the original essay questions included things like "How can I help my president?" That's not appropriate. I also do not want the speech to become an opportunity for teachers push politically-charged topics (health care, environmentalism, etc.). But again, I think much of this has been rectified. As long as Obama keeps his speech exclusive to the generic "stay in school, blah blah" message, there's nothing to freak out about.

I'm just glad you guys broke your 10-game losing streak. Good morale boost for your players AND new coach. Good luck this season. (Note that I'm taking back that luck when we meet up Oct. 24.)

Helu strikes me as being very similar to Ndamukong Suh where this is concerned. They're both intelligent, articulate people who value their education over any sort of NFL aspirations. I don't think he's going anywhere.

Blount's a thug. It shouldn't matter at all what the Boise State player said to him. Lashing out like that is just plain weak and indicative of a lot of other problems with the guy. The fact he would then go after his own teammates and ultimately fans means he has zero control. I just hope that lack of control doesn't get him into even deeper trouble down the road (a la LP, Thunder Collins...) The guy's got issues. Y'all want to witness a trainwreck of a career in the making? Voila. Where was that intensity when they were on the field? Oregon looked asleep at the wheel and they imploded. I think that may be a goal of his. He's doing a lot of resume building right now. He's still a bit too young/inexperienced to do this just yet, but what if Shawn Watson were to leave? Offensive coordinator in the making, mayhaps? But if he has head coaching aspirations, ehhh...

The parental units. 3) Where are you from originally? I grew up a Navy brat, so there isn't that original hometown thing going for me. But I've adopted Bellevue, NE as my hometown. 4) Where do you live now? Lincoln, NE 5) Favorite Husker memory? I have two: demolishing Florida for the '95 NC, and watching the '97 Championship while in Japan. 6) Worst Husker memory? A little era I like to call the Callafark. You can insert more colorful language at your discretion. 7) Number of home games attended? I've lost count. 8) Number of away games attended? Every Iowa State and Kansas away game since 2001, along with a Big XII Championship, the '05 Alamo, Cotton, and Gator Bowls. 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? The t-shirt I got for the '96 Fiesta Bowl. It's a child's size small, though...may not fit so well anymore. 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) Either in my family's season ticket seats in North Stadium, or the Student Section. 11) Favorite all time player? Tommie Frazi-ahhhh. 12) WCO or Option? The Option. It's not like the WCO really got us anywhere. 13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? Why is this even a choice? 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? Herbie. Although I find Lil' Red to be amusing at times. (Not ALL the time.) 15) Favorite Husker play? Jeez, do I have to choose one? Probably Tommie's "how-many-Florida-defensive-players-does-it-take-to...?" moment in the Fiesta Bowl. More recently, Alex Henery's 57-yarder last season. I hadn't seen the stadium so electrified in a long while. 16) Favorite game-day beverage? Depends on the temperature at game time. (Seriously, it can only be water when it's 90+ degrees!)
