I think that the type of running plays we were running tonight dictated the personel... Lucky seems to run a heck of alot of zone reads, where as the plays we were running tonight featured alot of power o's and counters. Old school smashmouth football, and I think Glenn and Jackson run that type of play with better vision, hence no Lucky.

Night games will do that to any fan base... far too long to drink before the game.

Ummm... teams have bad games.... We almost lost to Mizzou in 97.... is anyone here going to say that that team sucked??? Every once in awhile, Duke loses to an unranked opponets, the yankees arent in the world series, and Tiger Woods doesnt win a major... Thats why you play the game, because at any time, you could have an off night and the other team could be playing really well and you could get beat when your not supposed to. It is certainly not a reason to panic. We are 1-0 in conference, thats all I care about.

I think that we didnt look to the te as much in this game because Kansas was taking away the middle of the field. We were able to get a hell of alot of one on one matchups on the outside, and we burned them for three big pass plays out there. I think that is just what Kansas was content to do the entire night, and challenge our wide outs. Talib is an nfl caliber corner too, so i dont know that I would have played in any differently either.

I agree with the title of this thread. Zac had a monster night if you look at the numbers, but if you watched the game, you would see that Zac was off. Even on an off night, he is still a very good quarterback, but there were several throws that he could normally make with his eyes closed that were just not there that night. Im not saying he had a bad game, but just that I am very spoiled by how he normally plays, which is at a much higher level than he did last night.

Stew Bradely... he is our best linebacker. Who would have thought that headed into this year. I know quite a few people who would have said he was the 5th best lb on the team...

Lucky was faster than the guys chasing him yesterday... thats all i care about.

Taylor only threw 17 passes in this game... If Lucky averaged 15.6 ypc in the USC game, we would probably be praising Callahan now...

Mo purify, Menelik Holt, and Will Henry are all 6'4 or taller. It also happens to be their first year in the system, so it will take them a little bit to get acclimated...

I think the team did compete with the trojans... Grixby dropping that pick was a 14 point swing. If he had caught it, the score would have been 17-21 at the end of the game if everything happened the way it played out. We didnt captilize on our opportunities, they did. Thats why we lost.

I dont think so... we had a guy who beat up a few women... but I dont think anyone got paid. Also had a guy who did some crack. Meh, every program has that. We have never been disciplined by the NCAA though...

Also had NCAA violations at every school he coached at... thats why he was driven out of the business..

Thats bull about the whole metropolis thing... half the fans at nd are from chicago, and michigan which is pretty close to detroit, fills a larger stadium.

never.... i guess i never knew I had it so good. The bad times make you appreciate the good ones a hell of alot more, and I wasnt around before the good times in the nineties, to I guess I was spoiled. Now I know how much this means...

Imagine you are a walkon from crete nebraska. You grew up watching Trev Alberts, and Tommie Frasier, and Eric Crouch. Imagine you are sitting in the locker room before the game. The team is going through the pregame prayer. The roof is shaking and through 20feet of solid concrete you hear two words resonating as if the heavens themselves are shaking in anticipation. Those two words are Husker and power, not Keith Jackson, or Sirius. We make the tunnel walk, not the animation. They could put a virtual picture of Brent Musberger taking a crap in the stadium parking lot and I wouldnt care. What gets me going is the mob feel. The feeling that together we could tear down a mountain. Tears flow everytime I see those guys walking down the tunnel. I dont care what is on the screen. I live for husker football, not cartoons...
