  1. To each their own. If this works for them, more power to them. all i know is that if they tried that with me, they'd be in the er if i was nice to them. Ya ok, dude, whatever. How's that internet 35 ACT score coming.
  2. Where was that list of the number of players per team in the Big 12?
  3. For some reason, every time I look at Trey he just doesn't seem like he's 235. Whether it's on the field or around campus, he looks like a guy floatin around 210. Maybe that's because of his frame, I don't know. Or, maybe I need to get a new contacts prescription. I'm pretty excited for the future in our running back corp, though. We are so loaded with depth and talent at that position right now. I think Burkhead and Robinson are the obvious front runners for 2011, but Braylon Heard has a lot of potential and so do the guys that we haven't seen much of (Ward, Jones, Okafor). Don't forget Aaron Green D-Train is around 6'1 and looks pretty long, his frame could carry that extra lean muscle without him looking any different. But he does have definate tree truncks for legs. Thats probably where he carries most of his muscle weight. I look at Cody Green in the same way, a frame that can carry his 220 lbs. I guess Sean Fisher is a good example too. Sean looks pretty skinny on campus too, hah. P.S. Your Eric Martin sigfest is awesome.
  4. Well I looked into the future and it works just fine, so you can stop being debbie downer. :koolaid2: :koolaid2: :koolaid2: :koolaid2: :koolaid2:
  5. No, we should stop putting Bleacher Report on the same pedestal as a legitimate news organization. If you said this about ESPN I'd agree with you. But even "good" articles about the Huskers are just uninformed opinions of some average joe fan. I never treat it as legit. Just referencing the trend on this board sometimes. I'm telling you, I make an effort to not read Bleacher Report.
  6. Bleacher report always sucks until there is a good article about the Huskers, then it's all high fives and hand shakes...
  7. Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh EDIT: I don't get one of the comments. McCoy is more athletic based on...? Ah, well, it's the internet.
  8. Not if the quarterback is split out...
  9. E-Mart is one scary individual. +1
  10. FWIW a 6.0 rating is a five star rating not a four star. Not trying to be mean or anything, just informing. I have an RSS subscription but I never post or pay attention to star rating. Does that mean JT is .1 away from a 6.0? Also, for whoever was surprised JT is the #1 QB, the Rivals guys (Talman, Sean C.), have been pretty adamant that where you commit has nothing to do with player rankings. Of course, it can't hurt your star rating to have 30+ offers, but from what I remember Rex had a ton and only 3 stars. Then again, this is all personal speculation anyway, so one shouldn't care too much. Rex was a four star. LINK The mo'rons at scout had him as a three star. The idiots at scout also had lavonte as a 3 , Braylon Heard as a 3 (34th best running back in the nation, rivals had him at 5th best), Brion Carnes as a 3 . Oh, thanks. I "misremembered," about Rex. I also think I phrased my question in a stupid way. It won't take much more his senior season to bump Jamal Turner to a 5 star then?
  11. I would go as far to say he deserved better than having that mentioned in the OP. Condolences to family and friends.
  12. This just in. Tall, black college QB will still get chicks if he can't sit with them 3 hours a day at meals.
  13. I'll reserve my praise for Dobson until he can get a handle on the injury bug our O-Lines have been plagued by. Our O-Line were the most resilient to injuries in years past, but now it seems---at least since the Callahan years---our O-Line has been taking a serious beating. You're right the lack of depth at o-line had nothing to do with it .
  14. If you rewind to 2008, there were plenty of people (many on this board) that were frightened of losing Watson to some other school so he could head coach. In one year's time, people were wishing he had taken that job. There were a lot of people that were with Watson in 2008, and many on this board fit that category. I for one still believe Watson is a good OC. But here are my only issues with him: 1) His offense doesn't have the same fire and physicality the defense does. Yes, I know, Bo is the "head coach", but most of the offensive responsibilities lie on Watson's shoulders. Even in the VaTech game where the team was relatively healthy, I didn't see the same type of physicality on offense that I was seeing on defense. 2) He is fairly persistent. Even when something isn't working, he often keeps trying to milk it until there really is no going back. By that time, however, it's too late in the game. 3) Mental fortitude and execution. Again, I don't see the same type of execution on the offensive side of the ball that we see defensively. Even in 2008 when the offense "carried" the team, there were plenty of times we just shot ourselves in the foot offensively. I agree with 1) and 3) slightly disagree with 2). We really did run the ball down VT's throat but I get what you're saying. They don't have the same 'world beating' attitude.
  15. I think it's funny that people on other boards get mad at this like it's the first time you guys have done it, and you don't do it to everyone. It's like it's some new thing to be shocked and outraged over, and not a harmless act of amusement/waste of time.
  16. It's hard to compare, though. The game itself has sped up, period, as well as an increased volume in total media coverage. When I was following the 90's teams I didn't have RSS, Huskerboard, Husker Extra (online, I think they just called it the sports section back then), Big Red Today and the NE state paper (online version) to provide all these ample opportunities to complement someone like Dobson. I'd like someone much older than me to comment, I guess. I'm kind of curious how it scales...
  17. Motivation is contagious and starts from the top down, so good on the coaches and seniors. And Tray, for not being scared to do something like that as an underclassmen. i find that straight up dope that DR did that... says alot about the young guys getting in early and believing... i think a lot of the young guys are soo stoked they are here and nebraska and can really see themselves pushing forward... to wonder where they might be when they are seniors is incredible.... its been a wild ride so far for suuuree I know sh#t happens and things change (we could go 0-15, that's right, we could find ways to lose games we don't even play), but the program 'feels' really good right now to me as a fan. Bo appears to have created a really spectacular football culture here at DONU. Sorry for being redundant, but that was something that was sorely lacking under the previous regime.

  20. I was wondering if someone would do something like that. The guys might play with a huge chip on their shoulder this year. I can't wait. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60ITuAu-W54 We all know what happened after that. ^^ Its not like the greatest team ever to play the game followed. Oh wait... It's March and we can dream, at least.
  21. Oh nos. Young QB being forced to not get distracted by girls. What ever will we do. To the internets to complain. At least we have Enhance agreeing with someone to round out the experience.

  23. What? People have short memories? I forgot where I've heard that before. I don't buy it. There's no way half the people who were calling for Wat's head this year were on his nuts last year as the offense carried the program. Not on the internet. No way, no how. NOPE. I think Bo is, fortunately, smart enough to know the kind of crowd the intardnet tends to attract.
