  1. Maybe(but I doubt it) this will be a wake up call to the Big 12. Maybe this gets some rules changed(although probably not because of TV revenue). I would like the Big 12 to stay in tact and I also grew up watching good Mizzou games in Lincoln in the 70's. I like them here. I like us here. For all the problems the Big Red have been through in the last 6-7 years, we have been very close to beating TU a bunch of times . We seem to tend to have their number we just can't finish. I think we are getting ready to start finishing TU on a regular basis, starting next year in Lincoln. I do not care how great their recruiting classes are, it comes down to coaching(Notre dame syndrome). and when that happens, maybe we start getting more of what we want in the North. we will always have the problem of 23M people in texas compared to 2M in Nebraska. like everything, though, it all comes down to money. the last thing we need is more fricken Texas schools in the Big 12.
  2. I did not here the entire list but they were talking about Syracuse, Pitt, a few others and MU. MU seemed to be the best choice of the list they came up with. The complaint the stations were talking about is kinda like some on this board. TV revenue, TU being arrogant, texas swaying voting in the big 12. etc. the radio station said that TX was the largest state in the Big 12 with a 23M population, MU is second in Big 12 at 7M. Some of MU's games were not on this year up here(their loss to Baylor-thank god that wasn't for MU fans). I do not know a whole lot about this subject of TU and TV revenues etc. Just seems to be a lot of noise up here and maybe MU is serious about bolting...just passing it along.
  3. The radio stations in KC have been talking about this big time the last few days for Missouri. apparently there is a website(which I cannot find) that shows the difference in travel , schedule, etc for MU in the Big 10 vs. Big 12. there is a general feeling in this part of the country that Texas is getting everything and MU has been getting screwed. there is a growing contingent wanting MU to move to the Big 10 and maybe MU is looking at it more and more? I can't speak for MU but since this topic came up...
  4. I am happy for Turner and nervous for us. Interestingly, many KU fans and some of the media here in Kansas city are not so happy. I know when coaches are hired, it can be a polarizing issue, but he and his family are coming to Lawrence and its not exactly a love fest down here right now. I guess his daughter is in KU's athletic dept. they are harping on his record. Jason Whitlock had an article in the KC Star and does not like him. here is the link: http://www.kansascity.com/182/story/1627339.html KU fans are talking about not getting Harbaugh and that it was a lateral move from Mangino. I feel bad for him from that perspective. I hope he is very successful and goes down as the greatest coach who ever lived who could not beat his alma mater...although this would make me jealous! happy for him and uneasy watching a great husker coach against us. I would imagine KU just got a bunch of husker fans that will pull for them now...I will be pulling for Turner... they got a great one. here are a few more articles. http://www.kansascity.com/159/story/1629289.html http://www.kansascity.com/183/story/1629293.html

  6. now we will see if he and alabama can escape the Heisman curse in the NC game
  7. Ill bet McCoy is tired of all the clock management, suhs gonna sack you on stage, etc. etc. comments. kinda like he's the little kid on the playground everyone is picking on...
  8. wherever he goes in the NFL, I am an instant fan! no matter where! (hopefully not Oakland) Ill be rocking his pro jersey in Lincoln
  9. http://www2.kusports.com/ people down here in KC don't seem crazy about the idea. seems like they think they should have gotten more. I will pull for him when not playing NU or recruiting against NU.
  10. ESPN just confirmed...will be interesting when we play them, I'll have a soft spot for him...until kick off
  11. I agree. I think the national exposure for the close call with texas(even VT and beating OU) along with Suh's accomplishments will really help us with recruiting. When the Offense gets fixed, we are gonna be back in the hunt and its gonns be sooner than later! GBR!
  12. Oh no, the offense is bad and it will get fixed. Bo is shouldering the blame for the offense and will get it fixed. Bo has control of that and can fix that. we all know where those problems lie. Like anything in life, you have to take blame for the good and bad and overcome what you cannot control by being better than the sum of the stuff you can't control. We are headed there! I love what I see. all of this reminds me of the period right before 94 where we were just so close and then bam! 3 NC, 4 NC games in 5 years. unfinished business! doesnt mean we are going to win 3 NC, but we are going to become a prominent, relevant program again
  13. "what the hell else is there to do?" with the weather changing I am going deer hunting in North Central KS for the next 3 days!
  14. the whole country got a taste of whats brewing in Lincoln last night. even crapburger and s#%istreit were speechless. they had nothing to talk about because they had to throw out their guide to Colt McCoy greatness and weren't prepared to talk about the Huskers. I think this will prove to be the turning point. A lot of recruites saw that game in Texas last night. between us starting to control the north and getting the O fixed..order will start to be restored. I love where we are headed.
  15. Stop with all the excuses! stop with ll the bitching and whining. Get over it. I am hurting as much as anyone but lets put it in perspective(later in this thread) and move on . now on the excuses.... Excuse:officials throwing the game The officials weren't paid off, they aren't aweful on purpose. I know one of those officials and have spent a lot of time with him. he doesn't get "paid off." there wasn't a "lets get TU into the NC game" thing going on. for crying out loud, they get scored by the league a hundred ways from sunday by monday morning with video and a written grade/report by their peers, which then moves these guys closer to or farther from the door or going to the NFL. no official is trying to throw the game. these guys are trying to do their job like we do monday through friday. maybe a mistake here and there, but they are human. but no one is trying to throw the game. this is rediculous. the best of the best get the conference and NC games. Excuse : bad PI call I thought it was, and yeah they got 3 points out of it...but maybe the call doesn't get made, they punt inside deep in out territory and lee fumbles in the red zone TU gets a TD ...who knows! Excuse:Adi costs us the game. no he didn't he was trying like hell to kick it into the end zone and just came over the top ot it by 1/2". execution error plain and simple. he has been a great part of this team all season. he kicked balls into the back of the enzone and TU couldn't run the ball out..... Excuse: the clock should not have been reset. I see in the rules where it should have been, or maybe not. seemed fair to me at the time. my guess is Bo will drop his argument when he see's the tape. it doesnt matter though... Excuse: Watson has to go where was all of this last year? Watson didn't have @#$t to work with this year. in the middle of the season we were all saying..run up the middle, start passing to our TE's. etc. Do you suppose Watson came on huskerboard and said, "geeze, these guys are right! what a great idea Ill get right on that!" No. he had Brukhead out, Helu hurt, a QB that panned out nothing like people thought he would, and Castille kicked of the team. he had no tools to do his job. I would have hated to be him with those tools. doesnt mean there arent better, but he had little to work with. Putting it into perspective: My point to all of this is.... none of this matters. . when this program gets to a point where none of this matters , then we will be back, going to NC's! And the good news is I think we are a few years away with a young coach who may end up better than TO. I think 5 years from now, we will look back and say the 09 team was the foundation. it has been an unbelievable transformation and if we get a few things fixed, we will be in the hunt for the next 25 years. yeah we have huge problems on offense, but guys, Bo hasn't been here 2 years yet. his initial charge was get the defense fixed. I think we and the entire sporting world can agree that has been accomplished. Hell, I just hope he doesn't go back to Ohio state some day. the Big 12 North looks like it is lining back up to where it used to be(assuming Gill doesnt go to KS) with NU dominating and MU, KU, CU etc playing for second. These are losses that will build character .Last night woke a lot of people up around the country to the fact the NU is coming back and fast. I like where we are headed. now back to the hurting part...
  16. If Bo can continue with and build on the level of defensive play and get the offense fixed, we are on the way back to great things. we are 4 fumbles inside the 5(ISU), 1 brojen coverage(VT) , and 1 second away( well, really a bad kickoff) from 12-1 and on our way to the Fiesta(alledgedly). As bad as this tastes, we have a young coach who will get us to a lot of national championships.. We just need to learn how to win and get a few things fixed and we are on our way. ..now the waves of pain pangs come again...
  17. ummm it was texas beating us not a&m my bad, been a long day....
  18. Its the Big 12 championship and anything can happen....aTm beating us in the 90's when we were 3rd, I believe. KSU knocking off Oklahoma in 03. But ..... this year, NU hasn't seen as big, physical and fast a defense as we will see. and the Texas O seems to have gotten much better in the last three weeks as well. aTm put 39 points on them and aTm looked like TT on steroids(not literally) . they had over 500 yards of offense. I don't see that in our future. like I said, its the Big 12 Chapionship, but I struggle to find where we will out play them on either side of the ball or special teams. I have only seen bits and pieces of Texas this year, but that was my impression of them. I hope I am wrong, I would not like to be embarrased on national TV...my guess is we play with them until half, then watch out when that 3rd quarter slump we seem to fall into sets in.
  19. Pelini should have a mouth full of his ass. that us dangerous, unsportsmanlike and a stupid wasteful penalty.
  20. what is frustrating is we go to sleep in the 3rd quarter, d holds enought to get us by and and then we start pulling it together around the 7 minute mark ...did it against KU, KSU and now CU.
  21. Why? There's nothing good to talk about. scoreboard! goal's to win the game, don't care how... I care how. We're gonna have to play a lot better next week. and we'll worry about next week next week. our d will show up, and maybe our offense will finally have that special game we've all been waiting for. That would be nice. you never know, i agree Helu is our homerunner, but he is more finesse and burkhead seems to run a lot harder. with burkhead, the blocking can be more sloppy. It also helps that Rex is smaller so he can squeeze his way into those tight holes. that's really none of our business.
  22. Why? There's nothing good to talk about. there is nothing else to do...
  23. we needs CU's special teams help on top of our own special teams to be in this game. this is embarrassing. glad its on national TV. Texas is licking their chops. Mccoy is gonna win the heisman next weekend on us.
