  1. Did you notice how quickly they took away our FB trap play that worked several times? With their team speed they would have taken the option away as well. And probably killed AM. I don’t disagree that I would have liked to see it a few more times mixed in, but to think it would have allowed us to win that game is pure delusion.
  2. Plus you really can’t scholarship kids who are projects for two or three years down the road. And with the cost of school, it’s going to be tough to get kids to walk on when there is at least some scholarship money available for them elsewhere.
  3. Ok, thanks for the explanation, sorry I missed your point. I know I didn’t expect a miraculous turnaround like there, but I am disappointed that we still make so many mental and undisciplined errors (the timeout at Colorado is the one that really sticks out), but the reality is he’s still early in his career as a head coach too.
  4. If they’re ready now, play them now. There are far too many intangibles to play for two or three years down the road. That worked well in the 80’s and 90’s when TO could take the local farm kids who were happy to be on the team and take three years to get them ready to play their last two. It’s becoming a little like college basketball (1 and done), get the kids in and get them on the field. Win now. And I don’t see where UCF has anything to do with this. If the young kids can produce better than the older ones, put them on the field.
  5. That was the funniest post all night long in the game thread, someone saying we would have three points at half time.
  6. And talk about putting him in a position to fail all night long. Solo blocking him(I use the term blocking loosely) all game. He had no chance. C’mon coaches, you have to give him some help.
  7. Then I think they should be playing now (if they haven’t). Put em in and see what they can do.
  8. It does take one facet out of the play, AM having to put extra focus on just getting the ball in his hands. Something that should be almost automatic and done without even consciously thinking about.
  9. We may disagree a lot, but not on this. I do think that is a big factor. When you can’t put your focus on the play and reads in front of you because you’re guessing where the snap will be that has to mess with your head. But then, continual high snaps, and not correcting it, is back on the staff. Snap it better or bring in someone who will.
  10. If you don’t think Martinez has regressed this year then there’s no point in discussing this further. And for the record, not once have I said they can’t develop players. I said I think other factors were a bigger issue in Ozigbo’s emergence last year.
  11. A laundry list? i think that is as extreme as people saying they haven’t developed anyone. The true answer is obviously somewhere in the middle. But since you listed two out of your laundry list, I’ll counter with one......what happened to AM? and by the way, if you don’t think age, maturity, and game experience don’t make a huge difference then I just don’t know what to say.
  12. I think utilizing and developing are two different concepts. But maybe that’s just semantics, I don’t know. But if you’re going to use Morgan and Ozigbo as examples of how the staff is developing players then you have to answer the biggest question of the year..... how does a true freshman play like AM did last year, and then like this this year. And please don’t trot out the tired old line of no Morgan, Oz, OL, etc. Those players being gone didn’t make him a tentative, at times almost afraid, runner. Or make it so he misses open receivers by huge amounts this year. A year under the staff and there is no, none, zero question that he has regressed.
  13. You’re also talking about older guys in their senior years. Just the age and experience helps to slow the game down for them too. While I’m sure the coaching plays it’s role, the time and simple maturity make a huge difference as well.
  14. Sounds a little bit familiar to this year doesn’t it.....
  15. No, but he can get a hell of a lot more opportunities from one year to the next. I don’t doubt they helped him with coaching, but a running back who all of a sudden sees his carries increase has the opportunity to get into a rhythm and flow and all of a sudden he looks like a different player. I had said the the years before, under Riley, that he needed the chance to show what he could do. But he was just buried on Riley’s bench. Im sure Frost’s staff helped, but the talent was there prior too.
  16. Not if the coach won’t EVER pull that player. EVER!!
  17. Why would any other QB come here (or not transfer), AM is going to be here for four years (for those who thought he’d be leaving early for the NFL).
  18. I really don’t know what we hope to accomplish leaving AM in at this point.
  19. C’mon sideline, when our QB is getting pushed towards the sideline fence, grab him and help him before he hits it.
  20. Don’t ever wish for someone to get hurt.... but this garbage time is often when it happens. It sure would make the coach look foolish.
  21. Some of our DL are getting a little chippy out there. Hope they don’t do something stupid.
  22. OMG, offside on the kickoff. We are so undisciplined.
