  1. I just want them to play all four quarters. I hope the staff keeps reminding them of the Colorado game......although I don’t know who will keep reminding the staff.
  2. Well, he did toss that “quacker”. But it worked so I’m not complaining.
  3. Did Chinander just learn about this new blitzy thing?
  4. AM is backfooting his throws badly today. Where did that come from?
  5. That’s why Frost always says we have a great week of practice. Because we’re playing ourselves. The bad offsets!
  6. There is no way anyone tops that statement today!
  7. And behind him as well. Tough to catch a fastball from close range when you have to turn your body.
  8. We should just automatically fair catch every kickoff.
  9. It does make a difference when they get the block. But asking a tight end to consistently block a DB is asking a lot.
  10. Aren’t you supposed to just run straight into the defenders? From inside your own endzone?
  11. By God, we’re going to keep running it until it works. At least once!
  12. While I’m very much in the Frost is our guy camp, and am far from an “instant gratification” person, I can still see issues that are staff related and not player based. Like the use of our potential redshirt players (wasting games for one snap), wasting a timeout to start the second half of a game. Those aren’t subjective questions like scheme or play calling, those are just poor calls on the staff. Plain and simple. We’re all on the outside, but often times you can make educated and intelligent observations and assessments from there. Contrary to what you want to believe. Questioning the staff doesn’t mean someone is calling for them to be replaced, often it is simply that, questioning. Which goes on at every level or sport, and every coach. There are almost as many people here( maybe even more) blindly saying “its all talent” as there people questioning the staff (outside of Chinamder, there the ratio seems to skew heavily the other way). You do realize that there are some of those “questioning” people who know what they’re talking about.
  13. The defenses attack our screen and swing passes so quickly I keep waiting for us to pump fake that short throw and instead go deep to someone who setup to block and instead heads downfield as a receiver. But I’m still waiting.
  14. I just caught a quick glimpse of that particular play. It looked to me like the LB was a couple yards deep of the LOS, and about a half step in trail of the the way the play was flowing. Pretty ideal spy position I thought. I don’t think the OL could have gone out and blocked him without possible being illegally downfield. I just don’t think AM saw him at all. And i could be completely wrong since it was just a quick glimpse.
  15. I didn’t get to watch much today, but from reading this thread it sounds like we could have used him today. Seems that if Wandale will be back next week, this might have been a good week for his last game. What are we saving him for, to not play the last two?
  16. You start mixing it up when the defense adjusts to try and take away what’s working for you. Until they stop it, keep going to the well. Don’t stop your momentum yourself.
  17. I don’t think anyone (or most at least) are laying most, or any at Jackson’s feet. I think he’s been our most consistent defender this year. But that one play unfortunately epitomizes what many have said about the overall effort this year. Many others have done the same thing. He just got caught in this particular instance showing an example of the effort we’ve seen. With the overall team play in this game everyone is frustrated and he kind of got made the poster child for the effort discussion.
  18. I added a little more to my post while you were quoting. Maybe adds a little more context to my thought process on it. Jackson is an enigma this year to me. I think he improved greatly in his cover skills (outside of the Indiana game) and I defended him pretty vigorously earlier in the year because of it. I think we all know he’s not a “hiitter” or even a tackler. That’s pretty well established. We know what we’re getting there. But the just standing around watching, that’s just bad. Nothing absolves the bad tackling. But it’s how we are right now. BUT, if Jackson puts forth ANY effort there he could have prevented the touchdown (notice I said could have, there is still the fact he would have had to actually made the tackle), and who knows what might happen on the next play.
