  1. A QB who isn’t a big run threat and is already hurting from an earlier hit and we don’t do anything different to up the pressure on him? Makes a lot of sense.
  2. Guess we’ll just have to do the old agree to disagree here. Because the way(obviously in my opinion) you fix fix things is by physically doing them correctly. Over and over if necessary. Watching it and talking about it in the film room doesnt always translate to correcting it on the field. And it’s obviously not being corrected. I’d much rather them spend a week of practice refining correct techniques and fundamentals as opposed to getting boatloads of reps in. Because watching the finished product, the reps (if they are being done correctly in practice) aren’t translating to the field on Saturday. But you’re correct, I’m still back in that 1985 and earlier mindset. Quite possibly it’s all changed now so I do apologize about the load of crap statement. My guess is Saban corrects things on the practice field.
  3. Now I’m admittedly old school in my coaching philosophy, but in my opinion, that is a load of crap. You fix mistakes by physically doing things the correct way. Not by watching it being done wrong and then talking about it. We’d be much better off practicing doing things the correct way as opposed to getting in tons of reps the incorrect way.
  4. I think he has to be. If he’s not then I think we’re in real trouble (even more than now).
  5. You’re correct. And I still think he’s our guy. But the thing that bothers me the mental part. The discipline, penalties, etc. We honestly don’t look any different in that area than we did under Riley. Thats not a talent issue, that’s a coaching issue.
  6. I think he pulled him because he got dinged up. Lets be realalistic here. We know AM isn’t the problem (although I still don’t think he’s running anywhere nearly as well as he did last year, even in the open field where the OL is irrelevant), but Vedral has nothing to be ashamed of either. He played well and had them in scoring position in the first half, only to have penalties derail them. I honestly don’t think we lost much from the QB position tonight. Although Vedral did hold the ball too long several times.
  7. I’d be happy with a clean, penalty free game. I believe in Santa Clause too.
  8. Probably not, but at least we make them do something different. And if we take them out of their comfort zone maybe they make a mistake on occasion too. Will we give up more big plays. Most likely. Will we make more (or at least some) big defensive plays. Likely as well. Standing pat with what we’re doing didn’t work.
  9. Yeah, sorry about that, wasn’t called for. But you did use exactly what I said in your argument.
  10. I would imagine age would be a big factor in how that gets answered. Those of us lucky enough to have experienced those years would probably never trade them. Someone who does t remember them, I can see where they might make the trade.
  11. Why won’t we do something different? Load the box and at least make somebody adjust to us? We just sit in our base defense and let them ram it down field. And we have the really good running teams coming up.
  12. Really? Seriously? Tired after the opening drive? Are you f#&%ing drunk right now. I just said they dominated usfrom the opening drive. They’re not tired after one damn drive. There was no heart or desire out there tonight. Fatigue in the first quarter!? And you’re asking me if I’ve ever played And WTF are too talking about rose colored glasses with me for?
  13. I thought Vedral played Ok, nothing special outside of the run early on. I still think AM is off this year from last, but this line......I’m not sure anyone can do anything behind it.
  14. Good grief. Explain the first half to me then would you. You remember the first half. When they chewed us up. Or were we tired already?
  15. Oh quit with that crap, they weren’t playing with any fire or desire from the opening snap. They weren’t ready. Did Minnesota come in the locker room and pound on them all day long before the opening kickoff. And by by the way, how would they be tired from tackling?
  16. They laid down early this game, like in the first quarter. This defensive performance had nothing to do with being tired.
  17. Also it might help slow down that rush jut a bit.
  18. Yep, they’ll be right back out there next week.
  19. Sorry, but that’s a lame excuse for what we’ve seen tonight. They’re tired?
  20. One thing is for sure. Nelson won’t quit.
  21. They’re blitzing like crazy, we could move the pocket on occasion so the QB isn’t a damn sitting duck.
  22. Why not play McCaffrey now? What the hell are we saving him for. Makes no se se to me.
  23. And even your players are less talented, they can at least not make stupid mistakes. Again and again. Discipline is coaching.....not talent.
  24. Cut back inside Barry again. God I’m sick of watching that over and over.
