The Big 12 North race is going to come down to K-State and Nebraska. Missouri still has a shot, but highly unlikely.

I am not doubting either ones story (even though both sound weird by B-rent and Cy) but whats the real story?

In my radio show on sunday, I said that I was afraid of Nebraska being too high on themselves and would not prepare properly for the Tech game. Man i was right. The stats made the game looked even but the scoreboard said another. But only elite teams have both offense and defense playing at a high level. Nebraska has the defense, it just needs an offense. But give it up to the bottom 3 of the Big 12 North.

I have: Texas Texas A&M Kansas Missouri (upset pick) Iowa State Nebraska

Yeah just the north, I mean outside of OU and Texas, nobody in the South needs to prove anything. Baylor can prove they can be a bowl team this year without griffin but I doubt it. A&M proved to me that they would be a tough team and are going to a bowl this year. Okie State may need to prove it is still in the conversation in the Big 12 south against Missouri (a perceived better team than A&M). And then their is Tech, which can only prove this weekend that they are with the Big boys. But the North this weekend has a more intriguing weekend: -Nebraska needs to prove they are part of the elite in the Big 12 by showing up after a huge win. And to some dissenters that the game against Missouri wasn't a fluke. - Kansas needs to prove they can get style points against bad teams and prove they can beat Nebraska with defense instead of offense. - Missouri needs to prove they can get back into the Big 12 North race with a win over a pretty unimpressive Oklahoma State. Missouri has won in Stillwater the past 2 meetings. -Iowa State has to win this weekend. They have played so well against K-State and Kansas and have come up short. They need to beat Baylor this weekend or they may not get to a bowl. If they win this weekend, they need to beat Colorado and then upset either A&M, Nebraska, Missouri, or Ok State to get to a bowl.

Yeah they haven't looked good at all. They kind of remind me of the 2004 Missouri Tigers, good offensive weapons but the defense is MIA.

I think the huskers proved themselves but who in the Big 12 North needs to prove something? I think its Missouri or Kansas. Both need to win this weekend IMO

I agree with all but I don't agree with you saying that the defense of Missouri wasn't good. Its was real good last night, the problem was the offense. But Nebraska had problems with their offense as well. I think the rain had a significant impact on both teams offenses. But two of the touchdowns Nebraska scored were in the red zone off turnovers. Missouri's offense is bad right now IMO. The play calling they made really confused me. The rushing game was consistent but it never had that big play. Even Nebraska's rushing offense didn't have that big play until the game was decided. So thats a question mark going into Texas Tech and you know Tech will get their yards and their points. I think Nebraska wins though but closer than most think.

Lol thats kind of funny. Well its obvious they didn't script anything going into the youube show. Yes for now its just streaming online. Trying to see and gauge interest on ubroadcast because its relatively inexpensive. If I can get more than 500 listeners for my show, then I will look into investing in a radio show in Kansas City, Wichita, or Omaha. I just have done radio broadcast before for my school's radio station before and just think its time for Big 12 north fans to have a radio show directed towards them. Looking at the game, both teams made stupid mistakes and got penalized. That being said, how demoralizing is this for a young Mizzou team? The defense played great but you give a short field to any offense and 9 times out of 10 they will put it in the endzone. On that score that put Nebraska up 20-12, the line got pressure but they forgot about the Tight End. Work on both sides is need but man next year's game is going to be ridiculous.

Both Missouri and Nebraska have pretty good defense. And congrats to the Huskers, you made those plays at the end of the game to win. Too bad 1 team had to lose. But that defense Nebraska can win the Big 12. But what do you all feel about your offense?

If you look at my signature and my handle, I have a radio station on ubroadcast.com called "Big 12 North Talk." So my first show is this Sunday at 6pm central. I started this because I got tired of no talk about the Big 12 North. I plan to cover not only football, but basketball, baseball, spring football, recruiting and anything concerning the six Big 12 North teams. So I am calling upon the Husker Nation for the support of my radio station.

I don't think Nebraska is the "underdog" in this game. They look to have the better defense and a solid running game. The point spread I believe is in your favor. The keys I believe for Nebraska are: - Get Rex Going: If he gets big runs early in the game and so does Helu (which is expected), Nebraska will be able to control TOP because Missouri can't just focus on stopping Helu. - The secondary needs to play bump and run coverage: Now everytime I watch Missouri, its a timed offense. The Quarterbacks know exactly where every receiver should be and thats what makes them so successful. If the Cornhuskers' secondary hit them in the mouth at the LOS, that screws up the timing and gives the Huskers an advantage. Missouri's Keys: - The line must be stronger: Derrick Washington is a great back. he is a top 4 running back in the Big 12....when he gets his blocking. The zone read plays that are run by Missouri just aren't developing correctly this year and against Nebraska isn't going to work. Pinkel said they have worked out the kinks but we will see how well tomorrow. - Gabbert must come into his own: If Gabbert has another great game, he will shoot up the Heisman charts and be called better than Chase Daniel. He hasn't thrown a pick yet but the competition hasn't been great. I mean even Jimmy Clausen is getting a ton of Heisman Hype. So Gabbert is getting a lot of hype but he has to live up to that hype to show that he and the Missouri Tigers are for real. Its going to be a great game for the Big 12 North and hopefully both teams play well because the Big 12 North has the spotlight, time to shine!!!

I'll be there. I just found out my brother got us tickets. I was already so excited for this game, now my head it ready to explode. I live in KC, but I'm happy to make the drive to support my Tigers. I've been creeping on this site for a few weeks now, and it seems I've heard more than a couple of Husker fans mention they'll be making a trek to see the game. The more the merrier in my opinion. I can't wait to see the new big screen they put in! Maybe next year I'll drive up to Lincoln. From what I've heard it's a pretty decent place to see a game. Thats good. Were they the ones in the GA section? I saw K-State had some GA tickets in their north endzone. I don't think Nebraska has a GA section but if you sellout 300 straight, I don't think you need a General Admission section.

I don't think Nebraska will win easily against Missouri in Faurot Field. Missouri is young but very talented. But the bigger travesty in these polls is Auburn ranked higher than both Nebraska and Missouri.
