I got was that with Callahan, came an overly complex offense with lots and lots of long winded names. Also came every off season the talk of "simplifying" the offense. So this is just one writer guessing what "simplifying" might mean in regards to Beck. Not inherently bad or good.

This game will more than likely be the nail in the coffin for this program. Our history is now ancient, we havent played for a title in 9 years or a major bowl, we have pretty much been a doormat in the conference since then. If we take another beat down on National T.V. it really is not doing us any favors. I dont know how many nationally televised games we can get our asses handed to us before we become completely irrelevant, but I am suspecting this to be the one that does it. OUs time during the 90s makes these last 7 years for NU look amazing. And look at where OU is standing now...

And you are comparing Nebraska to those programs to our liklihood for a win. Its official. We are horrible. FML Stanford is 5-3 and 3rd in the pac 10. But no I wasnt. I was saying far crazier things have happened. I could have used BSU over OU, Oregon State last year ect if that makes you feel better. Or hell BYU this year over OU.

They also said that about Stanford a few years ago against USC or Ole Miss last year or Iowa State this year.

I don't think I've seen any mainstream love for Gabbert (no feature articles in ESPN or anything like that), however, the midwest media outlets are seeing him for the gamer that he is. He's gone into the second half of three ball games either down or with less than a two score lead. There is a reason I added the defensive stats of the opponents. It is there to show that yes he has good number but he hasnt faced a defense better than 89th in the country. You are calling him a gamer against teams that he should have done even better against. Hell I think he is slightly under performing for getting this much love.

What I noticed is that Gabbert has had to throw a lot more then Lee has to due to the running game. Washington is averaging a little under 80 yards a game. Meanwhile Helu is averaging 116 a game. Also the average ranks of the defense means Lee has done pretty much the same against slightly tougher defenses. Mainly I was wondering why some people (media) were so in love with Gabbert.
