  1. I would agree with you if it were not for just how badly our defense looked. We aren't just talking about the USC O Line opening up holes, they took the entire defense and just simply moved the entire team to one side of the field and left holes the size of the freakin INTERSTATE to run the ball through. It's not so bad losing to the #1 team I agree and didn't expect us to win, but after seeing just how bad the defense is I have to say the coaching is lacking severely here. On the flip side, I think the offense looks very promising in the passing game. The O line looked terrible though. Pass protection was dismal and wow the running game...WHAT running game! I have to say the losses this year should be placed squarely on the shoulders of Coz and Wags.
  2. Just wondering what was Nebraska ranked those 4 times. Ok to lazy to look it up. No problem. I actually miscalculated by adding a road game in there by mistake so the correct number is 1-2. My appologies. Let's hope we can bring this stat up to .500. One more interesting factoid is everytime it was those damn Sooners. Also NU is 0-2-1 against USC and USC was a top 5 team each time. This would be a great time to make a huge change. 1978 NU#10 Beat Oklahoma#1 at Lincoln 17-14 1974 NU#6 Lost to Oklahoma#1 at Lincoln 14-28 1955 NU#UR Lost to Oklahoma#1 at Lincoln 0-41
  3. Just an interesting factoid. Nebraska is 1-3 against #1 ranked teams coming to Lincoln. Hopefully that trend will improve this time around!
  4. Like I said before. He played in the all star game with all the "big kids" that are playing div 1 ball now and was tearing them up. Had he been given the opportunity, everyone would be singing to a new tune about ole danny.
  5. Yea he's a terrible player, he only won the DIV II Heisman as a Junior and holds the single season rushing record in all of college football as well as in 2 games next season will own the career record. You really wanna know why he wasn't recruited to NU by Callahan? Because he's white. Period. How many white NFL running backs do you see on your tv screen playing sundays? None, it's a sterotype that came with Cally from the NFL. Is it wrong? Yes, but it's the way it is. Some will argue the point and say that black players are just better physically suited for running back and I might be inclined to agree with that. The problem is, because of this stereotype, even the individual white players that ARE in fact very good and could succeed at a high level aren't even affored the opportunity simply because of that mindset, and frankly that's just sad. I'm sure everyone said the same thing about Don Bebe who also played for Chadron State. Look what he did. Danny played in the all star game too and was tearing them up before he got hurt and they took him out to not risk any injury. This was against the same kids that went on to play DIV I ball by the way. But yea I know he's a loser with no talent, slow white boy with no size or ability but a decent lowly DIV II player...sure. Flame me if you want but it's the truth and anyone who has seen this special kid play knows it.
  6. I stand corrected thank you. I didn't notice the new stuff on him. He say's he's made his decision. GO BIG RED!
  7. I'm cautiously optimistic about Keller. I think he's going to do great things in his short time for NU. I've also heard a few players say Zac isn't even in the same universe as Keller when it comes to the qb position. He throws everything on a rope. Zips the ball in to the receiver and puts the ball wherever he wants WHENEVER he wants. All good things. To say Zac's not even close to Keller is a big statement as Zac did a fabulous job for NU. This could be very exciting with him and Purify and a slug of other good receivers coming into the picture (ie Holt, Henry, Brooks, Paul).
  8. Unfortunately this will probably be a moot point as Castille will be probably be playing for Louisville the way it looks.
  9. Grixby's size is an obvious exploit for any offense to pick up. All that aside it doesn't look that great on the commits so far either. Only one is over the 6' mark, going 6'1".
  10. Zac got a lot of pressure this game and rattled him some. The biggest problem for us was on defense and not stopping the pass. Difference being, OU had a great secondary NU had a bad secondary. They frustrated Zac with pressure and no open receivers. On the flip side, OU could pass almost at will against our secondary. If you watch that drive where they passed and passed all the way to the endzone and scored. They passed every single time to whoever grixby was covering. I like courtney because he tries hard but he just isn't a DIV 1 cornerback. He's way undersized and doesn't have any closing speed and rarely makes a play for the ball let alone make a tackle. If we want to improve anything next year, it had better be the secondary.
  11. Danny Woodhead ran for 252 yards and four touchdowns on Saturday to lead Chadron State to a 43-17 victory over West Texas A&M in the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs. Woodhead became the single season rushing leader in all of college football history with 2,740 yards besting the old record of 2653 set by Kevin Gailliard of American International in 1999. Woodhead should have no problem furthering his record as CSC progresses through the DIV II Playoffs. Link
  12. And what like 11 national championships?
