  1. Oh cool, more wins over teams we are suppose to beat... I don't disagree with you I'm just showing that a majority of the people who are voting in these polls don't have justified opinions that should ever be considered.
  2. I am absolutely shocked at the results of if Nebraska will miss a bowl game before we reach a CCG (not win it)... With our schedule this year we still have a shot at a CCG if we take care of michigan, msu, and northwestern (albeit unlikely). And with our schedule this year and for the foreseeable future (after adding maryland & rutgers) we will practically be handed 6 wins for showing up. After the expansion our division is so ridiculously easy I imagine it will be the Big 12 North all over again with us waltzing to the CCG every year. People are just voting with their current emotions and state of mind. /shrug.
  3. The FSU ticker is hardly even going (and is just the same 1 guy over and over again) while the #NEB ticker is nonstop scrolling with different people spamming twitter. I suspect the %s aren't even accurate because #NEB has literally gotten every single vote of the last 5-6k.
  4. Thanks for texting me! meanie
  5. Okay, somebody in Lincoln go find Carl tomorrow morning and see if his is 1) calling around to maybe pick up a last minute replacement recruit or 2) on the phone spelling out "O-d-i-g-h-i-z-u-w-a" to the equipment staff. lol
  6. I'm going w/ "Zuw" or "Zuwa" We could go with a "O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O" Just chant the o's like a gorilla sound. Or we could replace SUUUUUUUH with a ZOOOOOOOOOO Or even a hound dog howel like a Aw-oooooooooooohhhhhhhhwwwaaaaaaa So my Mom is an alum at BGSU (bowling green) and our family always went to UNO vs BGSU hockey games. She would always chant this nonsense "ay ziggy zoomba zoombz" and embarrass the crap out of me. Now with this mouthful of an Owamagbe Odighizuwa and how fun it is to say his name... it immediately reminded me of the chant found HERE. I am still trying to find an audio version of it - but I think we definitely need to adapt this to owa's name. o-wa-magbe o-dighi-zuwa! then the chorus can relate to the B-shirts as a whole
  7. by this rule AFTER the eagles got screwed their 1second to put another FG up. So no, texas would of lost in the name of getting the play reviewed and the rules verified. but instead since texas was ranked higher we are taking one for the team.
  8. We beat texas and we only played the game on one side of the ball... I don't see how a "complete" alabama utterly destroying texas makes us look "worse". We showed great improvement on offense in our bowl game and showed why our D is #1 - we will be ranked preseason and have a chance to win out with our schedule. If we keep our focus all year (i.e. no TTech or ISU games) we will be in national title talk.
  9. I hope texas loses by a last second FG.
  10. you realize cameron has had significant playing time this year right?
  11. All of them. We will be the team to beat next year in the Big12 and for that reason everyone will be gunning for us making the game of that particular week the most important and hardest game for us to play. We have a very underdeveloped offense, yes they looked VERY GOOD against Arizona (compared to the rest of the year) but I still am not convinced since we had weeks of prerparation. sh#t, I'm not looking past Idaho or Washington yet....
  12. And if we should lose in a last-second, agonizing fashion, let us not bitch about officials for the next five months... Naw we lost on the 60:01th second.
  13. For all you people who just follow the crowd and say "nothing can be done" I'd like you to reread the quote above. That's what can be done. Again, ANOTHER SECOND rolls off the clock today in the OSU vs Mississippi game... Robinson fumbled and it was recovered, I look at the clock and see it roll from 0:02 to 0:01 when the whistle was blown. It was recovered around the 30 yard line of OSU - definitely in range of a FG attempt... (to maybe go up 10-0). It's getting ridiculous how many times I see it happen now and not a word is said about it. The rule needs to be clarified, as a sport we need to learn from our mistakes and make the game better and run cleaner. If we don't then what's the point watching knowing a team can just get screwed in the end b/c the refs were told their jobs depend on it?
  14. While I agree with you that standford vs nebraska was the matchup i was looking for and would be wicked fun, have a lot of hype pre bcs bowl games, and make tons of money for select individuals.... isn't hte holiday bowl always the big 12 3rd vs the pac 10 2nd?? and isn't arizona 1 game away from winning the pac 10? (they would have won had they beat oregon or whatever gameday game they had).
  15. Okay first: ROFLMAO. Second, I started reading and said, wow I said the same exact thing about Mizzou fans when I was on their boards prior to the missouri game (we beat them last 2 years, so why not this year? lol) Then I said the same thing about Kstate fans when I was on their board prior to the Kstate game... (not only were they delusional about it being a good game, they pride themselves on ripping crouch's head off). After reading what you've found on their boards... i think they take the cake. Some of the things you've found are just downright unbelievable.... middle of the line d-line? 3rd best D behind IOWA AND ASU????? like I am getting angry that there are that many niave fans for arizona... and I liked that school too *sigh*. Guess you can't find husker fans everywhere!
  16. This is correct on the basic level. So then you have to question which rules do you abide by? NCAA rules are the "top" rules "supreme court" if you will. But not exactly... if there is a rule in a smaller, say conference, rulebook that RELATES TO an ncaa, it is said to override the NCAA rule if it is a game where both teams abide by said rulebook. Obviously a big12 championship game both teams abide by big12 rulebook, which would say the game was over Nebraska victors over Texas 12-10.
  17. Relating to your 2nd paragraph, I 99% agree. I felt that exact same way. Then I read into the rulebooks a little more to find out how they worked and realize what they did was against the rules. So the only part I don't agree with is not only did the way they went about putting the second back on the clock was wrong, but it was indeed against the rules and, therefore, just that: wrong. NCAA rules call for reviews to put time back on the clock, Big12 rules (which override NCAA related rules in a Big12 game) do NOT allow changing a clock unless the play is reviewable and overturned. Relating to your last paragraph: 100% agree. You bring up a great point I often forget about but it's a strong point. Bo and coaches taught the kids how to win, what they needed to do to win, and got them fired up to win. Anyone who watched the game could tell you who won and who wanted the win more. We outplayed them, we were more physical, we won the little battles, we did everything executed right, we played as a team, and we had more heart than they did. What is Bo suppose to say to those guys? All week he had been preaching if you go out and do this you WILL be rewarded. Then something that sh**ty happens, seriously? Those kids (any team) work too hard balancing school, social life, and football to be treated that way NO MATTER WHAT THE MEDIA/MONEYMAKERS WANT. it's about the young student athletes - no one else. The fact that society has gone so far backwards to allow the people with money to talk in such a meaningless sport is despicable.
  18. Meh, the 2 pass interference calls that were clearly BS led to 10 points were pretty crucial too... (the td woulda turned into a FG anyways). Yes, Adi did have to kick it out of bounds, Asante had to horse collar and mccoy had to do what great QBs do and led "the most wonderful 4th Q comeback ever" with his brilliant...15 yard pass. But at the same time there were so many other calls that always happened to be in texas' favor extending drives and keeping them alive.... A lot of shadyness and things MUST change, our game as an example.
  19. As close??? With our offense we could lose to ANYONE. With our defense we could beat ANYONE. Besides its up to our guys - not the fans... And honestly you say talking about it does no good? why not? because someone like you comes and throws dirt on the fire. If we all get fired up about it and keep beating it dead... they have to give us attention and we deserve a better explanation or just flat at admission that the game was planned for texas to win.
  20. LOL - best description yet . edit: every time i see a dropped pass i now look at the clock to watch an extra second tick off *sigh*
  21. So a couple weeks ago the Eagles were playing the Giants on national TV (on MNF I think). It's about to be halftime, Eagles kickoff after recently scoring in a game where they are up by a bit of points. The kickoff is fumbled, recovered by the Eagles and it can be clearly seen there is time left on the clock when the ball is recovered and the recoverer is down. The time expires and the teams go to locker rooms for halftime - no questions, no harm, no foul. I really didn't think much into this other than "ha, that sucks, Eagles coulda gotten 3 more points easy". And I realize the the relation to our situation is minimal, NFL rules to Big12 rules. Ok whatever. Just now, aggies vs UGA. Aggies spike the ball with clearly 1.3s left and have time to kick a field goal to go into the locker room at halftime cutting down the lead from 14-7 to 14-10... Pretty important 3 poitns they were working for in their 2min drill. The clock runs out. This time since it is NOT a big12 game it is not only LEGAL but mandatory to review the play. No review took place and everyone just looks the other way that the time expired. Soooo, so much BS going on with our game. This is now twice where I have personally witnessed time coming off the clock at "crucial" times in the game with no review. I honestly think there needs to be a petition for that game to be changed in the recordbooks, the NCAA/Big12 officials should be investigated like the NBA officials. Lastly I honestly think officiating should be taken out of the game completely - between the ability to influence the games like they do every day and the stupid "late hit" and "head to head" penalties meant to "protect the players" they are really ruining the game and making me lose interest.
  22. If you honestly think Eric Hagg (#28) is guilty of pass interference in the endzone on UT's 3rd and 15 on the 19 (after 2 no gain plays and a penalty after a red zone turnover by NU's offense), then you are wrong. That was 7 points where UT only deserved [maybe] 3. Then we can go back to another pass interference on Gomes where the ball is 15 yards out of bounds on another 3rd down that extended the series where UT would waste another 3 downs before kicking another 3 points. You can always point to specific calls in a game and whine "game changing" but I have never seen calls like this that are made that extend series that guarantee a team points and there is no bearing for the call (uncatchable ball, literally no contact). The final score of that game was 12-6, Huskers won.
  23. Funny, I think we lost b/c the refs gave texas 10 points on terrible pass interference calls on hagg and gomes.
