  1. How come there is no commit list for 2011 in the Recruiting area?
  2. DT Mickey Johnson has been upgraded to a 4 STAR on Scouts... http://nebraska.scout.com/a.z?s=204&p=8&c=1&nid=4256185 I know, stars don't matter...but it's nice... GBR!!!
  3. Mickey Johnson has been moved up to a 4 STAR by Scouts.... http://nebraska.scout.com/a.z?s=204&p=8&c=1&nid=4256185 Come on Mickey.... Go big RED!!!!
  4. 1. Suh - shut down the run (middle of the field), allowed QB pressure with 4 lineman which allowed more people in coverage. 2. Asante - Great job, tough, hit like an "old school" DB. Tied for 3rd - D.Dillard & O' Hanlon - Both brought hustle, smarts to their positions. 5. Turner - was an "okay" DE. Maybe it was just he style of defensive line that Bo runs, but not enough end pressure. But, I think we will be good on the line, very good in the backfield, question marks is linebacker. GBR!!!
  5. Helu, as long as he doesn't get injured. Helu seems to have more "shiftyness" and top speed.
  6. I would say defensive player ...Corey Cooper, Lavonte David or Chase Harper at TE, Bell or Heard. GBRFE
  7. "billy C" is right again. Carnes will not even be 4th Team. I expect a red shirt. GBRFE
  8. NUTS!!!! Tom vs. Trev? Crazy. Lets put it this way, if Tom called any AD in the country or school prez, they would answer the phone. Trev would get their voice-mail. I would bet that President Obama would take his call, even though T.O. is republican. GBRFE
  9. I think the correct way to do this is... [*]Get the final Rivals rankings for all 119 D1 schools since 2000 [*]Get Sagarin's final rankings (takes into account strength of schedule) since 2002/2003. [*]Stagger the rankings 2 years (maybe 3) and use a 3 year rolling average. Then you will be able to see who "coaches up" players and those that under achieve. GBRFE
  10. I think it revolves around the Big 10 (little 11) having a need to increase their relevance in college football. They used to be the #1/2 conference. They are no longer. >1. They (Big 10) would love to have ND - huge fan base accross the USA. This will not happen until NBC dumps them. Still an issue with their basketball being in Big east. >2. If not ND, then add a new big market: >> A. NY/NJ with Rutgers >> B. KC / St. Louis with Missouri >> C. Pitt & Syracuse would be next >> D. Louisville, etc. to start getting toward the south. >> E. Iowa state ? i don't think so.... >3. If they do end of adding team(s) odds are 75/25 they only add one team. 25% 3 teams. >4. No way Texas, reasons: >> A. Texas will no-longer be the king of the conference like they are in the big 12. >> B. Travel too far for Football, and worse for other sports. Not practical. >> C. Texas would go to the SEC before the Big 10. >> D. Texas fans would not like the move. >> E. Politically, the state of Texas would not allow this move - would hurt Texas A&M, Baylor, Texas Tech. I think more realistically the SEC for Texas before Big 10. The Big twelve needs to move big 14 or big 16. > 1. Add TCU and Houston to pull ALL of Texas into the the conference (OK moves to North) > 2. Do above and add Utah and ????? to make 16 team. Also, I could see Colorado leaving to the Pac-10. Lastly, I think Nebraska needs to stay aggressive and not be left behind on this. Maybe Nebraska as an independent will be the endgame. GBRFE
  11. I agree, but 1992 Alabama? Come on. No offense, great defense. 1995 Huskers were dominant on both sides of the ball.
  12. I would be all for this...then bring Oklahoma to the North...yeah, I know OSU is farther north...but hey, we want the rivalry back, and here is our chance. TCU would bring the stature of the conference up a notch...all we have to do now is get rid of KSU and then bring Iowa into the Big 12 some how.... I think it would make the most sense if when CU moves to the pac-10, Iowa st gets bumped to the mtn west and Oklahoma and Oklahoma st join the big-12 north. TCU and Houston join the big-12 south. North Nebraska Missouri Oklahoma Oklahoma st Kansas Kansas st South Texas Texas A&M Texas Tech TCU Houston Baylor This makes sense doesn't it? Makes some sense, but Oklahoma would lose it's south rivalries, even though we'd add one with OU. The conference would pry need to add a 9th conference game to make this fly. yes, makes the most sense!
  13. 1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation? Around 30 years...8 to 10 years old. Watch NU vs OK games from California. And the bowl games. Listen to the radio - games in Northern Ca were on the radio during the 90's. 2) What/who led you to The Nation? A few things. Family friends live in Lincoln and used to visit during the summers when I was a kid. Loved (option) the style of play since I was an O-lineman. I Love the class of the fans, the program, and the history of the program. Loved the idea of beating schools with top 10 recruiting classes due to working harder, coaching kids up, and long-term focus. 3) Where are you from originally? California 4) Where do you live now? California 5) Favorite Husker memory? 1994 NC over Miami. Had to live thru a long time with T.O. getting a NC. Oklahoma owning T.O. and the loss to Miami in 1983. I was so excited that I bit thru my tongue, and it was bleeding, when NU scored the winning touchdown. AWESOME!!! Beat the Miami gangsters. 6) Worst Husker memory? 1983 National Championship loss. Why didn't they run the ball in. I agreed with going for 2. But run the damn ball. A very close 2nd bad memory would be how the program declined due to Peterson's selfish attitude. 7) Number of home games attended? 4 8) Number of away games attended? counting bowl games 3. 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? Homemade Nebraska Cornhuskers blanket by an +80 year old family friend that lives in Nebraska City. 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) My home alone! 11) Favorite all time player? Offensive side - Scott Frost. Loved the quarterback keeper, pause and let the running back go thru the hole first. He hit it so hard. Of course there are +20 other guys I liked. Loved the O-lineman. On Defense, I would have to say the D-Lineman during the mid-90's. 12) WCO or Option? Loved the option, but a hybrid closer the current offense is better. Have to be able to throw the ball. O-Lineman can't block the speed that D-Lineman have now. 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? Neither, both are SOFT mascots. 15) Favorite Husker play? Fullback up the gut 16) Favorite game-day beverage? At home alone - Water, Coors Lite with friends, Red wine in the 4th quarter. 17) How did you find HuskerBoard? been reading it for years....search engine I guess...
