  1. If Riley wants to win and win now, scouring the Juco ranks is a way to get it done. DL, OL, DE, even QB could be upgraded with some proven Juco talent. If! Good point. It makes a lot more sense that Mike Riley wants to lose and lose now. That's why he took the job. He is proficient at it.
  2. I've heard from "reliable sources" that he is still having memory loss issues and may accept a medical hardship.I've also heard of lingering issues. What is a medical hardship anyway? He's already taken a redshirt year. Can he get some other type of scholarship if he doesn't play anymore? Would it count towards our scholarship limit? He would stay on scholarship, but it would not count against the 85 limit. $EC does it all the time to weed out non contributors.

  4. Quite the straw man here. Most of us understand that having a mobile QB is the now and the future of football. We don't want to be dragged back into the old days of statute footed QBs. Alabama has won with all 'statue footed QBs' FSU won with Winston who was a PASSER - only ran for 284 yards in 2 seasons - 65 TD passes I'm okay with a dual QB, but call me when we get a guy like Newton, Mariota, Tebow etc. Not gonna happen And some amazing RB's and defenses that had like 9 guys drafted... And some outstanding OL and WRs. POB won't turn us into a Bama clone, not with this staff and their recruiting.
  5. Odd. That was never an acceptable excuse for the previous 7 years.

  7. Yes 2013 was one of, if not his worst. And while subjective, 2014 was one of his better, but if we're using QBR, it was his 3rd best. So, it's not like Eli was hot garbage before 2014. And I'm not sure why he was so bad in 2013, injury, bad year, system change, etc, but the sample size isn't enough to contribute it specifically to a QB coach. I guess the point was simply that if the New York Giants of the NFL thought Danny Langsdorf was professional, experienced and competent enough to hire as their Quarterbacks Coach, then he shouldn't be considered hot garbage when hired by the University of Nebraska. Unless of course that's just the starting point for anything attached to the hiring of Mike Riley. So NFL teams never make mistakes when it comes to coaching hires? I remember that Jay Norvell was a "hot commodity" for the Raiders back when he was being considered for employment at NU, how'd that go? Seeing how this staff has bungled so many elementary things this year, yes, hot garbage is the starting point.

  9. Yeah, it's not like Eli was a #1 draft pick and was the MVP of a couple of Super Bowls wins prior to the one year Fat Dan "coached" him. Oh wait......
  10. It would be nice if we had an experienced, professional, competent QB coach.
  11. Zac runs a WCO and played for Cally. That automatically discredits him from a large portion of the fan base. As it should.
  12. Except things are different now with the behind the scenes drama with Osborne and the administration. I don't see Eichorst and Frost having a real meaningful discussion. What drama? And who's to say Eichorst will even be the AD if Frost ever does interview for the job? I agree Eichorst may not be the AD at that point, which could change the possibilities with Frost. My hope would be something like that would happen. In others words; the drama I created in my head and a reiteration of my disdain for Eichorst, Riley, and anything that hasn't been directly baptized by Tom Osborne. Big surprise. Actually, it's very real, pretty much common knowledge. Some alleged Husker fans dislike Dr. Tom and choose to ignore it, but it doesn't make the rift between he and Harv go away. There is a reason why his name is on the building and field, yet ( the last I heard) he doesn't have an emeritus office in North Stadium.
  13. So he is a liar.. Sweet...........Quite probably considering no one else at all reported on it.You do realize that reporters lie a lot, right? And the pressure for clicks is even higher now because you don't have an editor to screen you or support you. Or maybe you have painted such a picture that it didn't happen that when evidence you asked for appears, you scramble into damage mitigation mode.... "I have 5 sources who have confirmed that Radar isn't really a husker fan."Disprove it. I've heard the same thing. Please stick to the subject and refrain from sharing with us what your hands are doing. TMI Lol.
  14. I think that UCLA will have no problem piling up points against NU's D. I think Rosen picks Banker's D apart. The only way NU keeps it close is if the offense keeps scoring with them, like NU did against Michigan State. There's no basis for thinking we'll get blown out. Thinking we'll lose, yes.Right. No basis whatsoever to think the Huskers will get blown out. Just like back in August when there was no basis whatsoever to think the Huskers would have a losing season. How do you figure? We hadn't played a game yet with the new staff. We haven't been blown out this year. We could get blown out by UCLA but nothing that has happened this season indicates that will happen. The Miami game was a blowout for 3 quarters, and then they went brain dead, and let NU back in it. Purdue was also a blowout, until NU put up some late points in the 4th quarter. It's a fallacy to say that NU wasn't blown out in any games this year. Way to move things around to fit your agenda. Blowouts are determined by final score. Period. We have not been blowout this whole year. We have been competitive in every single game. If Bo was still coach, we'd have called it a blowout and started lighting torches in the 3rd quarter. Expectations for Bo: WIN GAMES (like it should be for every coach...especially at Nebraska...he failed)Expectations for Riley: Don't get blown out That would be called progress to a goal of winning championships, something Bo never was able to achieve. (stop getting blown out and championships) You have to stop the bleeding to start the healing. The first goal has been accomplished. Yea, cuz 5 and 7 is closer than .01.
  15. Link? Proof? Yeah. This doesn't mean what you think it means.
  16. It's a nice catch phrase, but tell me how Dr. Tom managed to pull off his best run with classes that normally were ranked 3rd or 4th in the Big 8? Link? Cuz it looks like he isn't doing any better than his predecessor. And that's even with the "first year bump" that coaches new to a job normally get.
  17. So, you're saying it's not the talent..... Iowa runs the style of offense and defense that allows them to recruit locally. The majority of their team is from the Midwest. This in turn has shown to not get as many 'play makers' or speed guys as well. So they built their system to best utilize the local talent? No square peg, round hole? That would be refreshing. And the correct way to do it. Wish that some guys in Lincoln would learn about that.
  18. I was watching you paint yourself into a corner, and wondered how you'd try to squeeze out of it. Back to thread subject...My expectations over 5 years is that radar will still be peddling his opinions as facts Good friggen Lord.....like that doesn't happen with anyone else. I'm busy defending Riley against unfair attacks, but when I see a feverish Radar in my corner I tend to back away. I'm a big boy, I don't need defending. You missed the point. I'm defending Riley. Not you. Just guessing their are plenty of Riley skeptics who nevertheless roll their eyes when CM Husker goes off the rails. It's kinda like that. No. It's not anything like that. I haven't seen CM go off the rails. I've never seen RADAR anywhere near the rails. CM knows more about football than 99% of the keyboard jockeys here. He actually played AND coached D1 football. <Drops mic>
  19. And bring in his "throw it all over the yard, PAC 12 basketball offense"???? This is freaking hilarious........ People here bitch about throwing it to much and you want the Frost offense????? Of course it is Frost, so he will do no wrong. LOL!!!!I'm assuming that since Frost is actually familiar with our program, he would formulate an offense to be successful here. I'd bet that he would call plays to the strengths of his players, something that the current staff lied about doing. You assume a lot, most of it wrong. Coaches run what they know! Frost is going to run his Oregon offense in Florida and should he come here in the distant future, he is not going to run an offense he has NEVER coached. He would bring an offense you claim to despise (Chuckle) Dream on Dream Weaver......You mean his offense that is based on principles of Dr. Tom's?I'll take that. Now that is a stretch or a crap, how ever you want to frame it. Chip Kelly's offense based in the Osborne principle??? Ha! Ha! WOW! Nebraska 2015: 439 passing plays - 434 running plays Oregon 2015: 340 passing plays - 570 running plays Frost has said repeatedly that he wants an offense with a more powerful running game in addition to the up tempo-quick strike passing game... and that's exactly the type of offense that he ran at Oregon this year and that Frost will run in Florida. Unfortunately I'm going to have to join the chorus in saying that this person going by the name RADAR does not know what they are talking about... and appears to know nothing about football. Let us not forget that many of the principles for the zone read scheme were derived from Dr. Tom's option principles. Please let me know anywhere where that it written or said. While Osborns option game was outstanding, it was not unique. It took its principals from other option schemes like wing t and wishbone. Pretty much common knowledge, Urb has spoken about it many times. While his offense is not the same as Frost's, they have some similar principles.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to join the chorus in saying that this person going by the name RADAR does not know what they are talking about... and appears to know nothing about football. Hear! Hear! And, I'll add, RADAR doesn't understand the unique situation of NU football, and what type of coach it takes to win consistently as during the Devaney and Osborne years. Nebraska football is not unique and with good recruiting any system will succeed. The problem has been crappy recruiting by Solich and Bo. We suck because of lack of talent not scheme. Actually, it is unique, all Husker fans know this. And if the recruiting were that poor under those 2 coaches, they were the next coming of Lombardi and Rockne, respectively. Let us not forget the fact that NU still had more talent than any team in the West this year.
