  1. IF we lose to UT and settle for the Holiday Bowl, then I'd like to play USC. I wanna see Pelini beat his old employer Pete Carroll. Pelini was hired by Carroll in the late 90's at New England as a LB coach.
  2. I think everybody should scribble something down and send it to Watson. Seriously, he has to try something next week, I have been hopeing for a pitch to Burkhead and pass to Paul streaking down the sidelines(Burkhead played some QB at Plano) I just want to see something materialize that we haven't ran yet this year. More importantly, run with perfect execution. I just want the playbook to be more versatile next weekend, instead of the usual. I hope so to, but I fear 2 runs and a pass will be the rule for the first series next weekendThat equals three and out i do not want to see that either, but lately we have been better on converting 3rd downs with a pass, short to midrange. we will probably play conservative and fight for every yard we can get and take up as much time as we can. It's not far-fetched to think that he'll gauge his play calling according to how well our D is doing. In other words, if our D is giving UT troubles, then he'll likely call a conservative game plan. Otherwise if their O is giving our D fits, then he'll open it up more.
  3. That'll go down as one of the greatest moments in Husker history. The polarity of this years ending versus last years ending. Even though we still won yesterday, I didn't like the way it ended with the last CU TD.
  4. Yep. Chizik's at Auburn. That'd be fun to watch.

If only we could pull off what Auburn did yesterday in the 1st quarter against Bama, that'd be more in tune with what I had in mind.

  7. I meant to post this earlier today. During the KU/MU game it was announced that Suh won this award. On a side note, they just announced that Colt McCoy is the Offensive Big XII Player of the Year during the Baylor/TTU game, which btw is a close game at the moment.
  8. I'd like to see him invited to the ceremony and then stiff them by not showing up. If he's only going to be the token defensive guy invited, why not make a statement by thumbing his nose at them? On second thought, it might hurt him for the other defensive awards......but you never know. I'd still love to see it. I don't think Pelini & Osborne would allow that. But I understand what you're getting at. Yeah, I know......it is completely without class and would never happen.....but one can dream. lol Would you settle for Suh sacking whoever gets called up for the award?
  9. If you mean last time we beat a ranked team or higher ranked team think back to Oklahoma a few weeks. If you're talking Vegas underdogs I don't know if we were a dog in that game or not. I'm thinking we were an underdog according to the Vegas people, but yes, this upset would be huge. According to the records I looked at: The last time a Nebraska team ranked lower than 10th defeated an opponent ranked higher than 10th -- Go back to 1977 when an unranked Nebraska team beat #4 Alabama at home Sounds like we are due for it then!! GBR throughout the years, since we began our decline (after 2001), we have not had a real signature win, we have not beat a highly ranked team, we have had no major upset. however, we have been close countless times but some freak occurrence secures the loss for us, or gives the other team the chance to win, which they end up doing. well, this is our time, now is our turn, and UT will never know they had it coming. That's what I'm talking about. GBR
  10. C'mon Husker Nation, let's put aside our usual frustrations this week as fans and channel some positive vibes up in here. Bring on the Horns. Goooooooo Biiiiiiiiiigggg Reeeeeddd Go Big Red!!!

  12. I've seen the possibilities of Boise St. or Iowa. i would love to play iowa, i think they will be the worst team playing in a BCS game. (that sounds harsher than it is, but i think they lack a lot of talent and play to their competition) I think our D would give Stanzi fits. He's prone to throwing INT's under pressure.

  14. They're saving their "inspirational win" for next weekend.
  15. At the very least I just want to see Suh invited to NY for the ceremony. The politics of the award alone prevents him from winning it. I never imagined him actually winning it, but just getting the invite would be considered a win in my book.
  16. You are correct about Cotton getting dibs before Holiday. Cotton Bowl payout = $3 million average Jan temperature 55 Holiday Bowl payout = $2.3 million average Janhigh temperature 65.8 And this from the 1979 Cotton Bowl featuring Joe Montana and the Notre Lame But not this year. Jerry's World has a retractable roof. Problem solved. But it cuts back on the babe watching by the hotel pool Touché

  19. Please return the favor and put some Frog fans in red shirts at Jerry's stadium next weekend.
  20. Sitting here watching KU/MU game and they just showed #6 of the 30 Greatest Plays in College Football where Boise St. ran that hook & lateral play against OU back in '07. Watson if you're reading this......
  21. We didn't do much against a young Baylor team and followed that win up with a surprising upset against OU. It just depends on which team decides to show up next weekend.
  22. Couldn't have said it better myself.
