Seems like KB does a better job getting under folks skin than BP/Beck/Paps... Only thing that irks me here is the cycle of media/fans reaction to on-field meltdowns only motivates players to defend the coaches. How about channeling those emotions as a team & actually pick up the play/effort/etc for more than one game?

I haven't had issues yet but if you read enough reviews the probe failure seems to be pretty common. It's nice to just set on the bar or coffee table on a football saturday and know at a glance what is going on outside. It's even better being able to leave the smoker on over night and just keep the remote thermometer on the nightstand. You can either wake up and check it every few hours or just set minimum-maximum alerts that will wake you up if either the smoker or the meat is getting too hot or cold. Thx! Will have to put that on the Christmas list ;-)

Agreed on both points. I disagree with most, if not all, of his personal beliefs but I cannot help but respect him. RB's position group have always performed very well. RB motivates and develops players. RB understands players psyche as well or better than any coach out there. RB can relate & build bonds with players/their families from any background. RB is pretty self-aware, at least as a coach. He is happy being a VERY successful position coach. If actions/results matter, why would we NOT want him?

Did you buy it or build it? Spring project (if I can get there) is building an outddor smoker/pizza oven/kitchen. Would love to hear more about this setup :-)

Yes. Really gross. I'm not sure if it's whatever mystery solution they inject to "enhance" the flavor or what . . . but the local butcher shops and Costco both blow that sh!t out of the water. It is the "flavor" solution. Pork (and a lot of beef, some chicken) from the grocery store is injected with a salt/msg solution causing the meat to absorb 15%+ more water. After this, the pork is deep frozen to kill trichinosis. Together these destroy the tissues and remove the natural juices. It increases store profits since you are paying for an extra 1-2 lbs of water weight. Warehouse, local butcher, or local farmer are the best options if didn't raise the animal yourself. As far as the foil, that's makes a big difference. I also get better bark on pork roasts using cider vinegar or fresh citrus juice. Use in the marinade or if doing a dry rub, I'll rinse over the outside then let the roast sit for ~1 hour before applying the rub. Carlfense - what is the brand/model wireless thermometer you use? You like it other than the probe issue?

Forcing an OC onto the incoming (new) head coach started this whole mess. You really think it would work the second time around? Bring in the new HC (whoever that is) and let him bring in ALL his own staff. What would be wrong with that?

^^ I just spit soda out my nose. That's funny! EDIT: It's the typical Bo when speaking to the press. Not sure why everyone is nitpicking his comments. I agree the loss was embarassing & unnaceptable but I think there are better complaints of Bo than his comments. I wish more coaches would treat the press like crap, maybe it would get journalists doing more than just op-ed type pieces...

Zoogies - i've the same impression for awhile. Bo was stuck with Watson (not his choice) so I could see the square peg/round hole issue. Bo picked Beck and seems like it's the same thing. Why not hire an OC that can run the type of O you want or hire an OC and let him do it his way?? Tell me the results you want OR how you want it done, can't have both...

Same situation in my location as well. Got messaged today from two different CSU fans. One is worried NU is going to poach mcelwain & the other hopes CSU plays NU in a bowl game (would be "csu automatic win"). Was hard to argue too much with the latter after Saturday ;-)

Im not scared of change. just realistic! if we win out he stays guaranteed ^^ Agree. I would love to see Pelini gone but I do not see the boosters supporting firing Pelini if we win out. I think it's a longshot even if we lose all the remaining. Hope I'm wrong... It all comes down to the $$$$ and if the boosters still listen to Tom or not. Hopefully Tom has changed his mind and allows SE to do his job and find a replacement. The $$$ is huge for sure. I think TO's opinion and boosters opinion of "big picture" are the detemining factors. I thought Bo's quotes re: "program going in right direction" were interesting. That was similar to the support TO, Hawks, etc gave Pelini after last season. Without more off-the-field issues, not sure if they will get out of the way. SE also doesn't strike me as someone who will drum up support to remove a coach the way Pederson did (both good & bad).

There have been a lot of stories about Frost/his parents being in the middle of "difficult situations" over the years. The only one I have seen widely documented is Scott's involvement with LP's girlfriend (he was with her when LP went bats**t crazy). TO documented some of this in his books. Google is your friend... I have heard from some of his NU teammates (at tailgates, golf tourneys, etc) that they wish him success in his career but don't want him on NU's staff. Never got any more detail tho... I don't think he should even be an option until he's duplicated his success (as an OC or HC) on his own post-Oregon...

Yeah, I'm sure the online petition is really going to be the tipping point for Eichorst. insert heavy sarcasm here Maybe if it gets sent to him with a $10 million check. Anything else is just a bunch of people bitching on the internet. Seriously... If someone started a crowdfunding project along with the petition, that would be the best chance for traction... Remember urban said there was no way he was going to a school who just fired a coach that won nine games. True, but I would have to think that people are smart enough to understand why he would be fired. We are a laughing stock, even at 9 wins. Everyone sees us get em abased on national tv every time. People now expect it, it's our Mo under Bo. A new coach would understand that I don't think so. Assuming the coach is rational, this is where the school offers a big buyout and the HC steps down citing "Personal Reasons". Everyone wins and NU starts a new coaching search. Problem is, neither Bo Pelini, NU AD, nor Husker fans are rational enough to get this done...

^^^This. I think Eichorst is a good to very good admin, but he's not going to "own" this issue. He'll wait until the decision gets made for him (i.e. team wins 5 or less OR major boosters demand a change). Can't blame him. Personally, I don't think Eichorst/Perlman have it in them to hire anyone better. Would love to see BP gone at this point but don't see it happening...
