  1. There's an article here from Novemeber 23 that lays-out more detail of the supposed discussions. This information was not repeated anywhere else, and the "verbal sparring" between Oz and OSU admins sounds like embellishment.
  2. It's a good idea to post a couple of twitter accounts rather than "word on twitter." That's a pretty broad spectrum. It could be anybody. If there are sportswriters discussing it, then it's worth taking a look at. Ohio State doesn't shock me, but if he is talking to UCLA that's ominous. Mikel Severe mentioned recently that he was told from his "guy" in the program there was only one thing that would make Bo bail on Nebraska. That was if he had trouble landing the kind of talent he needs to run his system. Maybe the issues with recruiting recently have convinced Pelini to look at more fertile territory to coach from. Remember, Bo was talking to Miami last year as well - before the scandal hit, obviously.
  3. No, you're just acting like one because you're a Packers fan. I thought we were cool Dude, now not so much... We're cool. Hearing Packers fans getting butthurt over Ndamukong Suh is just getting extremely tedious. Not butthurt, I'm not crying about it. I don't want an apology, raping the sh#t out of the Lions in their own house and having Suh not be able to do a damn thing about it is good enough for me. However I would like some of you to acknowledge he's dirty but oh well. May not happen. That play today was dirty, no question. Several others he's been flagged for previously were questionable at best...and probably NOT dirty in most of those several. A few others have been pretty bad, indeed (slamming someone's head to the ground) That said - I really don't think he's the dirtiest player in the NFL - and Badgerfan - you've admitted before you become clouded in perspective because of being a fan of Wisconsin. Your comments today are probably a little skewed toward the Pack here I'm guessing....just because you are a fanatic. Undeniably so. Have I maybe-possibly, been a little-tiny-barely-noticeably overzealous with my choice of adjectives in describing the incident?...Perhaps. So first and foremost I'd just like to apologize to the other Packer fans and great HB posters for allowing myself to be put in a position to be misinterpreted....and putting myself in that situation. A lot of people are seeing what they want to see but I know what I said...I said what I said, its just being misinterpreted. My intentions were not to do that, I was just trying to walk away from the posts but you know...it was just the situation...I was being pushed into it. I was just so off balance. Like I said, I know what I did and so does the man upstairs... Most people in this thread have said he's out of line and deserves punishment for his actions today. What do you want people to say here? Do you want them to parrot your comments calling him a "punk" and "dirty player." People here aren't going to do that because he did not act that way during his time at Nebraska so we have more exposure to him than you. I'm guessing you probably didn't know much about him until the last couple games of 2009. Have you been drinking today? Honest question, because you should maybe take a break from ranting. You are coming close to behaving like a jackass.
  4. Before or after the suspension? Because there's no doubt he will get one, probably multiple games. He's also going to start losing sponsors, and that's going to hit him in the pocketbook. Suh always played angry and aggressive in college, but I don't remember anything dirty on a regular basis. I don't know where all of this is coming from, if the Lions staff encourages it to get the rest of the team fired-up, or he just got dumb all of a sudden. Whatever it is, he needs to pull it back because it can shorten a guy's career.
  5. And the players shouldn't allow themselves to get trolled by some guy on twitter to the point of threatening to "find him," either. Like I said, having players with public twitter or facebook accounts invites all sorts of potential problems. If you're a player on a major college football team, make your stuff private.
  6. i cant speak for others but i use twitters to communicate info regarding my HS water polo team i coach... i am a follower of some of the players but never communicate with them... but i dont know if its really that bad.. i think maybe with potential recruits it would be a prob... but the point of twitter is to go out and communicate i assume with friends and others....... I meant fans chatting with players. If you actually know the players, that's one thing. Otherwise people need to stay away. That's why I think UNL compliance should require players to have their twitter accounts private for just friends, other players, media, etc. I know some guys like BK or E-Mart love killing time with it, but it's just inviting problems like the one mentioned in the OP.
  7. People shouldn't be communicating with players on Twitter, period. It's creepy and could open-up compliance issues. If you see a player's tweet relayed via a media member, fine, but stay the hell away from those guys directly.
  8. Why are these Fox Sports announcers such Texas homers? UT is owned by ESPN, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Disney Corporation.
  9. Does it occur to anyone that the only thread here that contains the words "fire/must go" and "Bo" is this one? Somebody is awfully insecure and defensive, it seems to me.
  10. Considering how much money they spent on gutting and remodeling that place, it's definitely embarrassing for them.
  11. Bo and Carl have flat-out stated they don't believe in it, it's a "myth."
  12. Because you need superior athletes to combat mobile QBs, and we don't have very many of those on defense. Recruiting failure.
  13. Yep, I called it. May and Holtz slobbering all over themselves over the "courage and determination" of Penn State players. You would never think they lost the game if you didn't know the score. Sigh.
  14. ESPN is going to report this as a glorious, redemptive 14-17 victory by Penn State.
  15. Nebraska is a weak team emotionally. I don't know what else can explain these mood swings that affect their performance so dramatically.
  16. The announcers are angry at Nebraska for trying to ruin the "Penn State finds redemption with a win" narrative.
  17. I might be reading too much into Dodds comment regarding "King Football wins," but it's almost as if he's implying that Nebraska fans are more concerned with the game than anything else. I don't think he's even bothered to ask any of us how we feel before making assumptions. The decision to play the game or not is up to Penn State. If they chose to forfeit and cancel the game, I don't think there would be all that much outcry around here. It seems people are pretty split about whether it should be played. But we're Nebraska fans. We only care about football, right? At least that's what Dodds seems to think.
  18. I don't usually get sucked into the media-bashing frenzy, but this just struck me as so far out of line it warranted attention. Dodds is a Big-12 guy, and he's shown in the past he's not fond of Nebraska in general, but there's no excuse for lashing out at fans who had nothing to do with the mess confronting the game this weekend. After watching students flip news vans the other night, concern is not "making it about yourself." It's reasonable caution. As far as Doyle's comment? He told a journalism student to "mind his own business." A journalist telling an aspiring reporter that. Mighty fine example to set there, chief.
  19. They're both national writers for CBS Sports. It just seems bizarre to go out of the way to slam Nebraska fans for safety concerns, when the issue isn't being expressed by just them. And telling a student editorial to shut-up and "mind their own business" for expressing an opinion that's seen elsewhere. I didn't see him attack the NY Times for a similar editorial.
  20. I've been seeing a strange sentiment brewing this morning from some writers in my Twitter feed. There seems to be some sort of anger at Nebraska brewing, and it confuses me greatly: So Dodds attacks Nebraska fans for having genuine concerns about safety issues in College Station - something echoed by Osborne and the UNL admins, not to mention commentators around the country. Then Doyle goes after the Daily Nebraskan for an editorial regarding Penn State's remaining season. One I don't happen to agree with, but one that has been echoed in quite a few places - much larger media outlets than the DN, mind you. Could someone explain this to me, other than "they're trolls," because I'm seeing similar anger towards NU from more than just those two guys. Is there some sort of weird sympathy for PSU developing, making them the "underdog" some people are rooting for?
  21. That kind of rubbed me the wrong way when I first read that too. What, exactly, is he trying to imply there? I'm not sure about his intended meaning, but it makes sense since we've been hearing from former players and State College residents that rumors about Sandusky have been circulating for years. PSU players and coaches that later take jobs at other schools would know about those whispers and that could make him untouchable even though he had not been exposed publicly yet.
  22. Has he now been officially declared dead? Or still listed as missing...........? He's been declared legally dead. He left no suicide note and family did not see any indicator of such. Foul play is the more likely cause of death.
