  1. I went with the top 25 offense, cuz I would have more fun watching a competitive offense than the one we have. Plus we would be looking better for the big 12 north and better against Texas for the championship game
  2. Yeah, it is beating a dead horse. I was just shooting for humor. When I get this stressed watching our offense, then humor is how I cope. I sure have fun watching our defense though. You guys make excellent points about the line, but I did see many opportunities to break early or late and shoot a gap. It seems that with our youth in offense they are just doing the play as it was designed and not looking for opportunities to "modify" the play for extra yardage. It could be that youth is the problem or it could be that the players are afraid to think for themselves out there. I'm just mentally damaged from the Callahan years where thinking on your feet as a player was discouraged.
  3. Ok, I got to looking at the offensive play calling last night and was completely confused at the players inability to run the ball to where there was a hole. When the hole disappeared then the RB would just run it into the pack of bodies and go down for little to no gain. Then I got to thinking that Watson might be watching old tape of Nebraska and saw our boys pushing the RB ahead in surges to make additional yards. So he's just confused I figure. We just need to let him know that the RB goes ahead of the line before you bunch up and push, not behind the bunch. Then maybe we could move the football on the ground lol. Or it could be that we just don't have the experience players to be able to use their periphery to find the gaps. Or we're not coaching how to do that. I'll probably never know.
  4. I agree that Helu should have had that ball. I don't agree that Lee should have pitched it to him however. I would have liked to have seen green get the QB keeper calls instead of Lee. When Green was in it was just run up the middle and for heavens sake, don't look for a hole. Just run into the offense lol. The play calling didn't suit either QB. Lee can't run and he was overthrowing everybit as much as Green does so I just don't see the positive to having him in there. He did make a nice pass to a wide open receiver on the one yard line though. Gotta give him that.
  5. I was thinking today (I know that's pretty frightening). Anyways, watching the game today and seeing O'Hanlon intercepting balls left and right I thought to myself...Now here is a player that catches balls that aren't meant for him, aren't thrown to him and are tipped in his general vicinity. Why doesn't he play on our offense? The same thing happens to our receivers lol. PS this was meant to be funny, please don't beat me for being completely confused at our offense again hehe. Way to go Blackshirts!!! I say they earned that shirt today. What a fun and edge of seat game today.
  6. Here, Here. Way to go Defense. I was so impressed with Suh, Dillard, Crick, and especially Mr O'Hanlon. Awsome job today!!
  7. Almost looks like Husker Lust in the background of that picture lol
  8. I don't understand why we couldn't recruit better than Oregon. Nebraska is a much larger football dynasty than Oregon. Have we lost that much Moxy since Tom was coach that we've lost the ability to recruit?
  9. When I was a kid I got to meet Mr. Osborn, Mr. Rimington, Mr. Rozier, Mr. Gill, and Mr. Fryer and still have the ball signed by that team. I'll never forget it and it's a highly prized possession of mine.
  10. It's got to be a very tough decision to bench a junior in place of a brand new shiny freshman. For one thing, think about when Lee was recruited and thinking about starting for Nebraska and then to think he is losing that chance the year before he's supposed to be the star. That would suck pretty bad. My heart goes out to him, but I do like the future with Green better. I've longed for a mobile QB for a long time. No offense to Mr. Ganz, but he didn't get to play in the right kind of offense to suit his ability. I hope our offense can change to suit Green's ability. So far I'm not seeing the offense to go with a mobile QB here.
  11. Last year he did the same crap. We would run with Helu, be successful, he would start running lucky up the middle (lucky was really only good on the outside runs) and then he would abandon the run all together and start throwing 3 and outs with the occasional big play being made that put points on the board. It was waaaaaaayyyy to inconsistent for my liking and he consistently went away from a running game that was working and gave the opposing offense time to score. I'm not just unhappy with Watson for this year, I've never really been happy with the play calling for about the last 6 or 7 years lol.
  12. I put it int he forum I did because this is the type of offense that I wish the Huskers were running. I wanted it in Husker Football forum instead of NCAA, because I wanted Husker opinions. No offense to anyone.
  13. Addison, I wanted to discuss it here because I'm not interested in what others think. I'm interested in what my fellow Huskers think. It wasn't from laziness, it was posted because it's the direction of offense that I would love to see us going in and I wanted opinions from others on it that bleed red.
  14. Yeah, I'm always blown away at how we drop out of the top 25 usually if we lose, but teams like USC, Miami, and Ohio State (who spends the season barely winning) stay in the top 10 usually after a loss. Not that there is any bias in college football or anything lol.
  15. Oregon is fun as hell to watch. They are not predictable on O or D. They are also constantly moving forward, looking for holes, have an extremely mobile QB, and don't second guess anything at the line. They exude confidence. I know this is the Huskerboard and I'm talking about how much fun I had watching the Oregon game, but Scott Frost is their WR coach so that should count shouldn't it? Anyways, I would love to see us have an offense that is looking at moving forward every play, not constantly second guessing the opposing defense. Let them second guess where we are going instead of them dictating our play calling. I couldn't even hit the skip button or I would miss a play with Oregon. With our current O I can go get a drink and we still haven't hiked the ball. This gives defenses a long look at us every play. I think Oregon is onto something there. What do you guys think?
