Preparing for a statistics mid-term. Freaking yay!

  2. That's just perfect. I had to leave the room when they interviewed him during the post-game. The only problem is...what if they're watered down by some other pollutant? Does that cancel out their medicinal properties? I mean, would I just grow a kick-ass beard instead?
  3. Amen! Beers, beach, and "Oh sh#t we spaced on the game time!" Love it!
  4. Couldn't have said it better. Go easy bro, and Semper Fi.
  5. I'm sure "blame Bush" moment is fast approaching. Every time I visit Boulder to see family I wonder how and why CU even attempts to continue and field a football team. Most folks there just don't seem to give a sh#t. I know its a different attitude once you get out away from Boulder, but I don't know how Hawkins puts up with the general malaise that just seems to hang in the air.
  6. For what it is worth, I think a 10 point loss in a game where we competed throughout is a significant moral victory. We have standout athletes at several positions and we also have some with enormous potential. However, we do not have the same levels of talent at every position that Texas does. While we all live for the day when we are just loaded with so much talent that this type of game is a 1 vs 2 match up, the reality of this year is far different. We are in year 2 of Bo's handle on the program. We just came out of more than a few years of mediocrity. It is going to take some time to rebuild in the mold of Husker lore, but the problem is that today's game has far more talent parity than there was in previous decades, meaning that recruits have far more options than they did 1 or 2 decades ago. The result is that we, at this time, just don't pull the same type of athletes that UT does. That is the impetus behind my response, but I will also say that I have every bit of confidence in this staff's abilities to square away high levels of talent and knowledge on future teams.
  7. Would LOVE to see 11-3, but I think 10-4 is more likely.
  8. I agree, the spread will be greater than -1. I am also curious as to the over/under. I don't condemn anyone betting on their own team...hell I've done it myself (freaking Chiefs!), just don't do it anymore because I've been thumped too many times when I did it. Glad you have better luck with it.
  9. Yeah it kind of hacked me off. When that ball was caught and he went in for the score my first thought was "sh#t!", and immediately after I thought "Man, Bo is going to light some folks up for that one". Sure enough the camera changes to Bo just as he is laying into his brother with a WTF was that.
  10. that is a thing of the past...... I wish coverage of these games would incorporate 2 things, #1 the pregame includes the actual pregame, god forbid we are exposed on television the actual pagentry of the college football pregame, #2 we have internet, we have twitter, we have facebook, we have live streaming, we have ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN News, ESPNU, ESPN Classic and so forth, I do not need halftime highlights of games I don't give a crap about, I want to watch the bands instead....... I agree. Enough with all the 'extras' during pre-game and for the love of all that is holy stop cutting away to Sports Center during plays to re-cap another game or tell me that Tiger Woods was in a car accident!
  11. It kind of messed with me when I found it. It was like is that....naw...maybe....it couldn't be! <sigh> I'll post it and get another beer. GBR!
  12. I agree. I never bet on teams I pull for either. It clouds your judgment. I'm just curious as to the line.
  13. I couldn't find one either. I'm thinking the earliest release will be late, late Saturday night or sometime Sunday.
  14. $500 on the CCG is a nice little wager, good luck. I am curious what the spread will be. Anyone have an early line on that game?
  15. The explanation that was given was that it was required. Not sure what the rule book says. ON another note...its a damn good thing their kicker missed those two FGs or we might have been lining up to defend against a two point conversion try and a trip to OT. Good point but not necassarily, The defense came up with stop aafter stop (missed fg's i know, but still held them out of the endzone) when the game was close and in question. Seemed like we simply fell asleep every time we got up by 2 scores. That is true. The D did seem to go into cruise control mode once they hit 14 up. Barring the usual litany of injuries and obvious incompetence, CU is going to be dangerous next season. yeah, 10 wins and no excuses, right? the only team CU will be dangerous to next year is themselves. Its easy to piss down their backs, because the commit a comedy of errors on both sides of the ball and as a result drop games they shouldn't or implode against tougher competition AFTER playing them tight for 3 or 4 quarters. I'm no apologist, and I'm not a CU fan, but if all those Fresh/Soph players who got big time minutes this season develop during the off season, they will give anyone in the North a run for their money next season.
  16. As far as our offense, IMO, the most important determiner of success next weekend will be the O-line. If they can control and dominate Texas' defensive front 7 then we can do some things. If they can't and we try to get cute or tricky with complexity etc., it will be a long day for the offense. I am not too worried about the D. They have some things to shore up, but, again IMO the offense REALLY needs to step up next weekend.
  17. I hear ya. Tough to pick the games this time of year anyway. With rivalry weeks and or conference title games coming, it seems that it is either feast or famine.
  18. Yeah the guys today kind of blew, but hey its better than hearing Musberger re-tell the fall of Troy while mixing in some play by play. I wouldn't mind Fowler, James, and Palmer calling the game either. They did a good job last night in the A&M/Texas game.
  19. That's a good point. A&M's QB had them reacting a lot instead of just going after it. The result was that you could tell during the game that Texas just couldn't cue on one thing and tee off whenever they liked.
