  1. We learned that we will never beat Texas.
  2. Zac Lee thrashed 'em good. Martinez Magic needs to earn his spot back.
  3. Robinson is just great. Reminds me a lot of Steve Young -- great running QB.
  4. The way to beat TTech under Mike Leach was to play offense and keep their offense off the field.
  5. Hmm, very interesting. Thanks for clearing that up. Oh well, at least we can look forward to a better offense. Lots of room for improvement there!
  6. Bo is a force to be reckoned with. You can bet that most top-tier coaches are very familiar with his recent work, know that he has Nebraska back on the right track, and know he's right up there with them. It'll take a bit more for him to be nationally viewed as such, but that's understandable... reputation is built on results. GBR
  7. Considering our D is going to be 5 times better, I'd be surprised if anyone scores against us at all.
  8. Everything in that article is spot on aside from the LSU and Miami references. Just the fact that Nebraska could seemingly come out of nowhere and be on top again -- Alabama was in the same boat. They went through several "Callahans" before they got Nick Saban. I don't think it's fluff at all. Usually it's ambitious teams that get JUCO players to replace weakness on the team immediately. They're usually some of the best players in the country.
  9. I think we'll see a lot of Martinez even if Lee is the starter, considering what Bo and Wats have let slip out thus far in media interviews. It's a possibility that we could see a multi-QB system. Martinez is fresh, inexperienced, but he's also good at some things that Zac Lee isn't. We've all heard him compared to Eric Crouch. He's a role-player that you can bring in during certain situations. He's the secret weapon that can be unleashed. He'll get his playing time.
  10. If you're injured, it changes how you play. Bottom line. Especially if we're talking about a QB with a freakin' elbow injury. Also to all this talk about Lee ducking for cover every time he's going to get hit: he's a drop-back passer. He's smart to put his head down. You guys act like every Nebraska QB should be able to make the first guy miss every time like they're Tommie Frazier or something. Cool!
  11. I think Zac Lee is far from "crappy" to be honest. He did his part in an almost successful season last year. He made the play that got us in range for the "game winning" field goal against Texas on a zone read. He wasn't the one who kicked the ball out of bounds on kick off. He didn't horse-collar tackle Shipley for a 15 yarder after his single crucial catch in the game. He wasn't on the field when Texas kicked the game winning field goal with a fraction of a second left. Let's face it, he played Big 12 Championship calibre football with an injured O-line and an injured elbow. Now he's entering his 5th and final year of his college football career. He has irreplacable on-the-field experience -- something none of our other QBs have and something every top team wants. He's a seasoned veteran, and our senior guy. The future looks bright for Zac Lee and Nebraska's offense. They're going to be so much better than last year it won't even be funny, especially if what we're hearing about the O-line becoming much more developed and physical is true. When was the last time a returning starter QB didn't start his senior season? Not a very safe bet considering it almost never happens.
  12. It's impossible to judge the severity of Zac Lee's injury from a computer chair. His injury required surgery post-season, and he had to sit out spring ball. If anything he deserves credit for playing hurt last season, in which he made several key plays that contribuited to wins. He didn't whine once or hang is arm to the side when things weren't going well for the offense, he stuck in there and played through it. That earns respect from your teammates. That's leadership. Furthermore, T Mart has a lot to learn on the field. Bo's going for a national championship and having a returning starter QB is crucial. GBR
