I think it may depend on the offensive plan and the mindset the linemen will have, it we keep up with the straight ahead type of running, because even our zone play have been rather upfield more than lateral, then i think Sirles can handle acho by just going straight forward. and that goes for the rest of the texas d. That's how you beat speed is with power. This year we have that back up front.

I understand that holding can be called on every play, but the issue in this conference is the obvious, play-effecting fouls are let go. Remember the hold on David against K-state on their long run (not plural ) had a huge effect on the play. and just check out the jerseys of our d-line after each game under the arms/chest area. I think it is a thing of protecting our high profile quarterbacks in this league, which has helped allow this conference to become such an offensive conference. Heck for a couple years there is was like the Pac 10.

Just wanna gather some opinions on who-besides Taylor, which really wasnt breakout but rather sustaining-had a breakout performance against K-State and who will show up against Texas. Against Ksu the ones that really caught my eye were LaVonte, Ricky Henry, who was just pulverizing ksu dlineman, and Cameron Meridith emerged to be the very solid DE ive been expecting. Tho LaVonte has been doing this all year, he helped turn a question mark of our D into a standpoint against a very tough runner. Against Texas- and i hate to be here, but Niles Paul, I'm still waiting for his big games. He says he wants the ball more and understandably so, it just hasnt been necassary to put it up. I hate to rag on the kid, but we may have seen the best out of Niles already. My pick is Kyler Reed. This kid has made a couple of plays in the last games and he is still kind of a forgotten piece. Against a good run d of Texas focused on Martinez and the talented secondary gathered on Kinnie, Paul and McNeil, I look for Kyler to have a huge effect on the game with playaction passes becoming a necessity.

According to the whiners in Manhatten, the classiness of Nebraska fans as a whole is a joke and a cover up. That we're just nice when we win, and that when we lose we turn into a bunch a--holes. So i say we just start living up to that, i dont know if i can go on lying much longer.

Oregon and/or Ohio St. are going to lose once. Oregons defense is just not good enuff to keep them unbeatin in a dog fight. Just like any other year, you control your own destiny by taking care of your own business.

I'm in Denver so I've always been able to view FSN Rocky Mountain but not FSN Midwest. Those are based on your location. The only channel lost due to the disagreement is FX so far. It doesn't bother me much since next year we won't be on FSN anymore. If you're really concerned, I suggest writing/e-mailing/calling Fox (and Dish) and telling them to get it done or you'll watch other stations (switch to another provider like DirecTv). My dish package, i have both rocky mountain (414) and midwest (418) I can view rocky mountain-was watching the asu-wash game on it tonight-but midwest has a constant running of information about the fox disagreement, and yes, no fx either. it will come to changing providers if there are not other options, i was just hoping for another option.

I hear you on that. However.... at some point in time this program under Bo has to turn the corner in that regard. Are we really back? I think so, and this is the time to prove it. I cant name on particular example, but it seems in human nature that when one team/person squeezes by another on many occasions that sooner or later it blows up in their face. Now Texas is coming in a wounded duck, a 3 legged horse, and that does make them very dangerous. Their defense has been exposed. Their offense is starting to look like ours of a year ago. With that being said, i think this is when this team really turns the corner by crushing this lowly Texas team. Some say we havent "played anybody" and that Kansas St. and Washington are lowly opponents and they are, which is why the Big Red rolled each of them in their own stadiums. I think (hope ) Nebraska comes out on a mission and takes care of business. It's time to relish the fact that we finally are back, and a letdown is just not going to happen, and that now in the 3rd year of Pelini, the attitude and killer instinct is back.

Just bringing this up as it hit me today. As many probably know Dish network is having a disagreement with Fox sports. I dont know why, but i myself can view the rocky mountain station, but not the midwest as well as fx (which does not pertain to sports). Bottom line, is there anything that can be done if the day comes that Nebraska is broadcast by FSN, cuz i could be really pissed.

I dont understand Herbstreit. Denard is better cuz when he hits the second level he cant be caught. Great argument Kirk, cuz everyones runnin Taylor down from behind I have no problem saying Robinson maybe better, but for that reason is just stupid. Exactly. Watching him tonight live.....it's really unreal how he makes the opponent's defensive players look like they're in slow motion. Especially the first 10 to 20 yrds it's like they've got cement buckets on their feet. That 80 yard run up the middle was ridiculous, there were 6 defenders that pretty much had him corraled for oh say a 10 yard gain, then BAM!!, theyre all chasing him in one big purple blob.

First off when discussing the tackling we have to just face a fact. Our defense is small and fast. SMALL and FAST. them "missed tackles" were not such but rather "broken" tackles by Thomas. Just like the Nunn texas fumble in 06, sometimes you just need to admit that the other guy just simply made a play as opposed to us screwing it up.

On the field, is Taylor's speed deceiving. On all his long runs tonight it seemed like the defenders were taking horrible angles, and it's been happening all year. Just a thought. But he is so Crouch like, one little crease and it's good night. oLINE baby, oline.

I calculated at 1 time LaVonte was on pace for 46 tackles tonight.

Kickoff coverage sucked. No way we'll beat Texas with coverage like that. Put the koolaid away, Texas could beat us if we dont shore up that ko coverage. oh wait. we have an offense this year. Nm. Pretty much what i predicted. everyone i know was guessing 28-14 and 21-10 type of scores and worrying so much about Thomas. I said Thomas would rush for 150 yards AND nebraska woudl win 38-10. I got laughed at. my argument was that while everyones worrying about thomas and his 10 points all the time they forget that we'll drop 40. Good game overall. It's all about the process, we blew the game open, and went strictly to a base d that was conservative. I like this team right now and the coaching is unbelievable.
