  1. Thank you so very much for your input and the time you put into it Bucky. I have always respected your opinion, and I agree with what you said. I expect Bo to in a B1G hunt, but I am not a "make it or fire him" type of person. As long as we are in the hunt, I am okay with that. I mean, what if we go in conference play, have only one loss (to Wisconsin and it was a very competitive game) and Wisconsin goes undefeated or 1 loss as well. Wisconsin gets the tie over us, goes to the CCG game and we don't. Fire Bo? This is why I hate the "he needs to make it to a conference game or we need to fire a new coach" mantra. There are too many variables that can happen to say something like that. We lose 3 conference games, and we aren't in the hunt, then I agree, the talk is very deserved. The multiple blowout losses is what Bo really needs to stop otherwise i don't think even winning 9 games every year will save him from that. He has shown we don't need to have multiple blowout losses. If he did that this year atleast i'd be happy with it even if we went 9-3.
  2. I think for Bo this is a make or break season for him. If he can't atleast stop the multiple loss blowouts i do think he will be shown the door. We know he can do better. 2010 we had no blowout losses, 2009 only one. This is Bo's 7th year. If we suffer multiple blow out losses again this year, it would be the 4th year in a row. If he can't get the blowout losses to just 1 game this year or preferably 0, unless it's about money, i don't know how any proud program could keep this kind of coach even if he is winning.
  3. Bo forced Watson to change the offense after the turnover debacle against Iowa State, but the turnovers keep coming under Beck. Coincidence? Or is it related to Bo? Well Beck did learn under Watson....
  4. Well, if a window in my house starts leaking, I don't bulldoze the whole damn thing and build a new one. I put a new window in it. Yeah you would put a new window in it. You just wouldn't leave where the window leaks all the time and act like you don't know how to fix it.
  5. Yeah, we'll see how well that works in the real world. You can't back up a 6-6 season by saying, "at least we tried for greatness!" You know how it's easier to fix stuff when it's apparent it's broken or it's working but if it happens sporadically it's hard to figure out what to do to improve? that's where we are now, stuck in neutral. He's had different qb's, rbs, wide outs, lineman, etc team and it's always amounted to the exact same record. I would say Bo is doing enough not to get fired but not enough to keep his job.
  6. By golly if I didnt know better I may come to the conclusion that was an anti Bo comment just a statement.
  7. teams that are afraid to fail are also afraid of greatness.
  8. With the way the divisions have been divided, Wisconsin will likely become a born rivalry faster than you think. These two fan bases already love playing each other, we just have to become a little more competitive to make them want to beat us more just because fans hate each other doesn't make it a rivalry. They key to a rivalry is knowing that either team has a chance to win no matter what. anytime a supposed rivalry starts getting one sided some teams no longer consider it a rivalry because of the domination, aka us in the Big 8. now we know what it feels like when playing a team doesn't consider us a rival, like we did with Big 12 North teams. it sucks. Who in the hell said fans had to hate each other to make it a rivalry? Just making assumptions to have something to argue about? If you ask any Wisconsin fan, they will tell you that they feel Nebraska will become a rival soon, especially with the conference alignment. Hate makes everything better! . jk. Usually a true rival hates the other school but with respect. The scores are close and so is the series. The only way Wisconsin will see us a rival is if we stop letting them kick our ass. I don't have a preference who our natural rival is but Northwestern has a better chance right now than Wisconsin. Down the line that could change but rarely does.

  10. This really isn't that much different than a number of other protected bases. Discrimination based on religion, age, and national origin are illegal, but you often can't tell just on appearances what category they fall into. For any discrimination claim to succeed, there's gotta be more than just a he said-she said accusation. There needs to be evidence of some sort. Sound business practices and appropriately written policies will go a long way, as long as the business otherwise keeps its nose clean. The greatest hassle for a business with these sorts of claims is the initial response to the allegation, but if there is nothing else to substantiate the allegation on the accuser's end, you don't have much else to worry about. Also, all of those can be proven. How does someone prove they are gay? by the way they talk of course!
  11. Martinez was QB before Beck was play caller. TA and Stanton will also have the benefit of not having OC changeups or conference switches that result in playbook changes. conference switches is a weak argument. It doesn't matter that Martinez was a qb before Beck was play caller. A good play caller adjusts to the needs of the qb and how the qb plays, not try to force him to do stuff he can't. Now Martinez did do a good job with what he had but every down qb that can pass he was not.
  12. How do we know that we have had QBs that haven't fit the system? come on really? Martinez would've worked much better than having him be a drop back passer. I mean, we don't really know that, do we? Maybe Taylor would've been better dropping back had he not been injured, no? he was doing good before the freshman injury. we were passing but not like afterwards in 2011 and later. Martinez could make throws but not consistent enough. Also receivers dropping balls didn't help.

  14. If Beck is such a qb guru how come we aren't getting the qb's that would fit his system? Good OC would work the system around a qb if the qb doesn't fit the sytsem. Never forcing a qb run a system they can't.
  15. We would get the 2:30 slots if we played better and more attractive to networks. friday night games should be for games that no one wants to watch. Sigh......... We use to get the good spots when we were good. now that we are just another team no one cares. hopefully that changes.

  17. ever since news stations primary goal was to make money over reporting american news stations went downhill. Sad really.
  18. well this is what you get when you hire your friends with no experience. you are quite correct. The NU staff is a very limited staff in terms of what it can successfully do. It is not an experienced staff with proven excellence elsewhere at their coaching positions. It is a staff (all the way up to and including the head coach) that is a work in progress, learn as you go, try to figure it out type of staff which has many limitations still. One of them is what you mention... no one to develop well a QB. That does not mean that none of our QB's can end up playing well... they can. But being "coached up" and getting the maximum from their talent is pretty unlikely with this staff. Still... one of these guys may end up pretty good --- Armstrong, Stanton, or Darlington. If so... they will do so largely on their own. maybe outside coaching (the likes of which Tmart received) will be possible. Who knows? Hopefully, we get some quality QB play. yeah we can have qb's that are pretty good but more than likely they would have to be pretty good before they got here. If our qb struggles are still going on after this season, i hope Bo thinks about bringing in a QB coach and not just a GA to help out.

  20. I worked out so well for them in the past........ they only remember the good times not the bad.
  21. I am sure there are businesses who do discriminate but i have never seen it. This law would do nothing. they would just find a way around it. It's just funny how these people in these businesses think this makes them better people or better Christians or gives them piece of mind. The fact is that they could be doing business with 100 child sex offenders and never know it. But I guess that it is okay because they can't see it. But 2 dudes publicly in love with each other and they want to lock the doors. SMDH yeah...businesses like to keep their mouth shut. the less they know the better off they are. then they can act all surprised when they find out.
  22. This is the beginning of the Soviet Union reforming.........wouldn't surprise me if this happened.

  24. Of the games you mentioned, Nebraska will be favored in three (Fresno, NW and Minnesota), possibly favored against Iowa/Miami and a dog to MSU/Wisconsin. Personally, games we're favored in aren't toss ups unless the spread is within three points. And of the games I'm fairly positive we'll be favored in, we should be at least touchdown favorites. And Fresno just lost one of the most prolific quarterbacks from the 2013 season to graduation. We will likely be heavy favorites to win. If anything, I've grown to understand that Nebraska really can't take anybody lightly anymore. But, despite that, I think what I posted should make you feel a little more confident in their season. Not to mention that Wisconsin is replacing a lot on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Gordon and White will only carry them so far... Just because they lost a lot doesn't mean the next people can't be just as good if not better.
  25. Im all for predictions but that statement just doesnt sit riggt with me. Please explain what are the garaunteed losses. i'm not guaranteeing any losses just that we have no consistency with our team and how it plays. It makes it harder to say we will win this game. Fresno St.- toss up Miami - loss or toss up Michigan St - loss Northwestern - toss up Wisconsin - loss Minnesota -toss up Iowa - toss up Also given the fact we play down to the other team also doesn't help. But those teams i have listed i can't sit there and say we will win confidently enough until we start proving it on the field. we could very well win those games i have as loses but i don't think so. just depends on which team shows up.
