  1. yes. Believe it or not even the mighty programs have losing seasons. I know it's hard to think about but it does happen. Recruiting is not a science it's still a gamble cause you don't know how it will pan out. sounds like logic you don't afford our program and staff! I do. I wouldn't be calling for Bo's head if he worked on one issue at least instead of saying he doesn't see it in practice. There is no reason why season after season we are fumbling the ball as much as we are. Not just the rb's but also the qb.
  2. That bad team beat out the other teams for the right to play. FSU was smashing teams the closest was BC which lost by 14. Look you can think what you want but Mack has results to prove he can get it done. Been to numerous BCS bowls. You can't always be a top ten team nowadays.
  3. You change the subject because you know Im right. No my point being just because you think a conference sucks doesn't make it so. The ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 all have 3 ranked teams in the top 25. Only the Pac-12 and SEC have more. So by your logic the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 suck. There is nothing you can do about your conference. The only chance you have is your ooc and that is a gamble unless you are SEC which then you schedule d-2 or worse. Those three conferences aren't the greatest. Did you just see Duke get smashed in the ACC title game? Everyone here thinks the B1G sucks. And if you watch any Big 12 games, you'd see they only have two really good teams. But in other news. Geoff Ketchum ‏@gkketch 43m A source tells OB that one of the most prominent high school coaches in the state was informed in the last hour that Mack is staying. Good news. Now we can all laugh at how bad Texas will be again next year and beyond. Duke got smashed because Florida St. pretty much crushed everyone this year. Everyone here can think the Big Ten sucks but we have no right to say that(smart ones won't at least). We haven't dominated this conference or hell even won it yet. Last year we got shown the door by Wisconsin. I think we need to start seeing on the field progress before we start talking smack.

  5. yes. Believe it or not even the mighty programs have losing seasons. I know it's hard to think about but it does happen. Recruiting is not a science it's still a gamble cause you don't know how it will pan out. Four mediocre years in a row. No way should a Texas coach (if they are a good coach) have four consecutive seasons like that. He hasn't won jack w/o Vince or Colt. Hes a fine recruiter because its easy at Texas. When he complains about going to recruit in Florida (I believe he said "killing himself") you know you have it easy. He just can't coach up that talent or hire coordinators that can. Vince and Colt types don't come around every 4 years. As for the last 4 years, the other teams in the Big 12 aren't what they use to be either. It's silly to think that Texas would be on the top every season. To be honest if Mack didn't have the connections he had he would have been long gone. Politics plays a huge role in Texas sports. Why do you think A&M got the ok to move to the SEC? Politics. He fired his DC 2 games in the season. Showing he was willing to change to right the ship. Also, the Big 12 isn't that good. Isn't that we told ourselves about the Big Ten? look how that turned out.

  8. He can't even win at Texas. The easiest school to win at in the nation. He won a national championship. Sure Texas is a hotbed and has good talent in high schools but in north texas OU does have a very big imprint. When Florida high schools play Texas high schools, Florida wins a majority of those like 80-90% of the time. Texas high schools do have talent and Texas usually gets their pick but that alone does not guarantee success. So did Gene Chizik. Should we hire him to coach at Nebraska? Mack has sustained success instead of just a one year wonder.

  10. I disagree. He's just a very happy go lucky guy who is friends with everyone. He reminds me of my BIL who's from there. And when confronted they snap back a little but aren't mad about it. Its more a of a need to find out whats they guys problem is or why he things that way. Once they find out they move on. so instead of just ignoring he lets it get to him. got it. Oh by the way when he is in the NFL and he gets a tweet saying "Go kill yourself". what's he going to think then? If you think it's bad now in college it's worse in the NFL when it becomes a full time job. He needs to not let it affect him and ignore it. Your comment saying once they find out they move on won't work. He's pretty damn lucky he's at a program where fans are a hell of a lot more nice and can hold back their tongue more. If anything has taught you about some fans is that they are ready to ruin their life for it, ala alabama vs lsu post game championship. He better hope he doesn't get drafted by philly.
  11. He won't last in the NFL. He cares too much of what people think of him. wait til he gets to the NFL if he thinks it's bad now.
  12. Well when Bo says the players play for themselves i guess he wasn't lying.
  13. I understand people are less than thrilled to play the same team again and the same bowl and yes if we took care of business we would be in a better bowl. I look at it this way. If attendance slides too low for too long we will start getting passed over by the better bowls and have to start settling for sh**ty bowls. As long as most of the bowls are based on what team will travel best we will always get the benefit of the doubt even when we do have a less than optimal season.
  14. So since we are a top ten destination that means we can fire Bo and can get a real head coach right?
  15. we are known for jumping out to early leads and then letting the team back in. But once the other team starts getting into gear it's pretty much game over for us.
  16. I can agree with this but he has failed them on the football field.
  17. To add on, I think Nebraska coaches are "good", but certainly not great. The question is how long we want to give these coaches to develop into better ones. We've given a lot of leash to two guys (Beck and Papuchis, specifically) that have never been full-fledged coordinators in their life before coaching at Nebraska. Heck, Papuchis was doing little more than watching film a few years back and now he's the DC at Nebraska. Some disagree with me on this notion, but I believe Nebraska is not a job for people to learn on the fly. It's one of the 15 best jobs in the country IMHO, top 20 at worst. It's not a place to slap the training wheels on half the staff and baby-step them through the process. By the time you get to Nebraska you should have a pretty damn good idea what you're doing. We took that risk with Pelini since he wasn't terribly experienced, but you can make up for those deficiencies by hiring smart around you. I would certainly agree with you and say we haven't, and as I said earlier, the big question is how long do we allow the assistants time to get better. I don't think they're bad coaches, just inexperienced and not working well together at times. the problem now with getting experienced OC and DC is they aren't going to put up with Bo yelling at them consistently during the game.
  18. our rb's have been more productive than our wide receivers who keep dropping the ball. We are deep at rb's. also we should use a fullback more on short yardage situations.
  19. Auburn is going to run the ball down the throat of the Noles. Everyone says Michigan St hasnt played anyone, well who has FSU played?? Clemson, Miami, Florida and Duke are probably among the best. But their closest game was against Boston College, who they beat by 14. They've rolled everyone else, often by 30-50 points. Clemson, who they beat by 37, is currently ranked #12. No doubt FSU has played a fairly weak schedule, but they've done everything they can with it. And in my view they are clearly the best team in the country. I think Auburn will give them a good game, but Florida State will ultimately win by double digits. Florida St reminds me of our 95 team. Experts picked Florida to win and our schedule wasn't that impressive also. Look how that turned out. I would be very surprised if Auburn kept this game close. Auburn's defense has consistently given up points can't say the same about Florida St. defense.
  20. maybe the bowl selection committee took pity on us and selected another team that was beat up as well. It's not like we need another ass kicking on national tv.
  21. Which ones are his "friends"? the people that need to be fired but never are. And which ones would those be? The OC and DC at the very least.

  23. We only had 1 during his tenure and the conference championship game was the only game we won against him.
  24. why do some posters think that Bo is ever going to fire one of his friends?
