  1. I didn't get to watch any games tonight, just saw scores. How were the games?
  2. I didn't catch much of the game, just highlights, but WT actual F was Quick doing? Mind boggling. If you like a physical style of hockey, this is the series to watch. There won't be many goals scored, but hitting a plenty. My work schedule is brutal this week as I'm working evenings, so i'm watching espn.com for score alerts.
  3. Well, just home from the stl/la game. This was an amazing game. Lots of hitting. I think this series will take lots out of both teams. I thought I saw there were almost 80 hits in the game. But what a giveaway by quick. Happened in the end I was sitting, and saw the whole debacle. What a fun game to watch. Blues deserved to win, but la never was out of it. Still can't get over the ending.
  4. I follow the western conference almost exclusively and can't tell you much about the eastern except that Pittsburgh is pretty solid. As for the west: Chicago is the best team, but not completely unbeatable as the media wants you to believe. I think the west goes through them, but it will be a challenge. I believe all the higher seeds win easily except the 4/5 series. I think la/stl will be a great series if stl wins game 1. If they lose, it very well may be over in 4. Having said that, I am a blues fan and will be just behind the glass for game 1. Hoping payback is in order for the kings. The worst thing about going to a playoff game is missing the other games. The Stanley Cup Playoffs r awesome tv.
  5. Well, looks like we're in. The loss for the Av's may help them secure a 1st pick in the draft. Positive for both sides.
  6. Well, here's hoping the Blues make the playoffs. Just scored a couple tickets in the lower bowl for game 1 of the first round. Personally, I'd like to see Vancouver come in. Be a great first round for St. Louis.
  7. I can't believe I am cheering for Michigan.This feels odd.

  10. How was the game? It was pretty cool. Sat just two rows up from the St. Louis announcers, which meant getting to meet Darren Pang. The new guys loved the game. I had to explain icing, and why players skate to the red line and dump the puck as well as boarding. Other than that, we watched and enjoyed it. Got off to a slow start, but won 4-2. Both guys have told me they are going to more games this year and already started looking for tickets. It was a success and the Blues won, which is a whole new discussion. Had plenty of beer which helped bring them in.
  11. In theory yes, but minor league hockey, there are more fights, the rivalries are a bit more bitter, and the guys i'd say are trying harder... How is the skill level? Is it a noticeably worse? Slower? I wouldn't think it would be, but I have no idea.
  12. The Aces are ECHL, pretty entertaining hockey. Same league as Bakersfield, use to go to a bunch of their games when I lived out there... I've only ever been to NHL games. I need to start branching out and experiencing other brands of hockey now that I am really starting to get into the sport. Don't get me wrong, I love the NHL, but some of the most entertaining hockey you'll ever see is minor league hockey... They say the same thing about baseball. Same sort of idea? At minor league baseball games, there are gimmicks along with the baseball. Hockey have the same ideas?

  14. So, after talking to them about it. One of them saw plenty of Alaska Aces games, just not NHL. Other guy is completely clueless as to what hockey is. Either way, buy a few overpriced beers and enjoy.
  15. Taking 2 guys who have never seen a hockey game tothe blues-oilers game on Friday. Anything in particular I need to pass along? Ive always gone to games with people who know whats goingon. O, and the blues will defeat the blackhawks on thursday
  16. Hadn't seen this posted anywhere, so I figured I'd throw it out here. If it has been reported or under another topic, just delete it. I for one, am happy to see the Huskers continue to play on Friday. http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/football/huskers-hawkeyes-officially-on-for-black-friday/article_36bdd4a6-fa10-5ba2-b31c-474ef2a22f9f.html
  17. Never been to a hockey game in my life but saw this was happening and I'm considering going just to go. I'm sure it would be a fun event to attend. Wouldn't have a clue whats going on in the actual game though. You should go, it's tough to beat a Hockey game in person... THIS Being from Minny I love Hockey... Saw UNO/Michigan Tech over the weekend... wasnt horrible.. sadly I have plans on saturday(wedding class and Husker basketball) What time saturday do the games begin? I have nothing to do. And please tell me there will be alcohol served? Go for it. I went once and now i'm hooked. Although the blues are making it awfully tough to stay committed at the moment. Hockey games are one of the most exciting live sports I can think of.
  18. If they could get production from anybody not on the front line, they would be fantastic. Really jealous of that front line production. In other news, the Blues sucked tonight.
  19. Haven't got to watch to many hockey games due to my work schedule and no center ice, but I have been watching the blues. They look pretty solid so far along with Chicago and San Jose. Any other teams to watch out for?
  20. I saw that, and honestly, I don't think thats what they need to do. If it were up to me, I'd get rid of at least 2, but no more than 6 teams. Does Florida need two hockey teams, no... And with Phoenix drawing about 8,000 last week i think. They may lose a team. Who knows.
  21. Good to see some hockey talk on here. I'm a Blues fan. Don't watch too much college hockey due to my location here in Missouri. Hate all things Red Wings. Excited to watch some of the new young talent that has arrived in the nhl.
