That was an amazing article. It's clear that Dirk has skill as a journalist. Would be nice to see him stick to this kind of positive discourse, vs his usual drivel.

  1. There needs to be a bot to vote in Gordon for the all star game

You're right about that. Although I think it came down to OF v 1B. Not much of a Royals fan, so I'm going with Pauly Boy. He doesn't have too many All Star Games left in him, so it's hard not to vote him in. Top 5 in HR's, RBI's and Batting Average. 'nuff said.

Unless you're actually a baseball fan. If that's the case, you vote in Pauly Baseball.

With all the problems we have in the midwest and the entire country right now, Casey Anthony is the last thing on my mind. Not sure why everyone is so obsessed with this case. Hoping it goes away very soon...

  5. Watching BTN...why would Shatel compare Nebraska gamedays to a NASCAR event?

    1. fearandloathing

Probably because NASCAR events are the single greatest sporting event to attend in the history of sporting events. #tittycity

@carlfense--the funny thing is that black out works as two words, but it's considered vulgar when typed as one word: b*******. The first time I wrote it, I thought I wrote something very, very wrong...

Things are not alright in Fort Calhoun. They've had everything from fires to water dam breaks since June 7th. Water won't go down 'til August at the earliest. Obama had a media black out regarding the events that have been occurring at OPPD. The first stories came from overseas. The US media picked it up after that.

The bars are all right there. The setup makes the old place look ridiculous. Beer garden at the Mattress Factory has music, bars, food places, beer tents and restrooms. Lots of other bars and beer tents around the stadium.

100% agree. Always miss the ambiance of the 'blatt, but newer is typically better. The views of the stadium and surrounding area on ESPN are great.

Well, the war machine winds up again. The problem is that we've discovered that war can be profitable. This is exactly what FDR warned against.

How about we address some issues in the US before we ship off to another battle? I spoke to our state representatives and asked where the National Guard is at to assist in the flooding made the Corp of Engineers. Turns out, many are fighting overseas right now.

  17. Red Sox own the Yankees this season. Where are all the Yankees fans now that were laughing at Boston for starting the season 0-6. Scoreboard Spankees!

@Po Belini--I've got a family member that played for the Yankees, so I give Sox fans a hard time. They formed a pretty good gathering around '04, so I assume that's about the time most fans jumped on board.

@redout22--ya just did. Something tells me that Dan Uggla won't be under the Mendoza line all year. Similar to how Weaver came to a screeching halt. That's what I'm referring to...

I'd assume, like most Red Sox fans, you've been a fan of the Sox for seven years now. As you learn more about baseball and your team, you'll figure out the ebb's and flow's of the game. Until then, there's nothing wrong with getting a little excited about beating the Mighty Yankees.

Crack being a legitimate business is negotiable. The Ohio State thing makes the "some guy" sound VERY misinformed.

Ohio State was cheating and teams like Nebraska were recruiting and playing on an uneven field. Tress did it to himself and no one should feel bad for him. Read the article on SI.com and you will quickly stop having pity for a man with so many contradictions.

Uh...last I checked, the Jaguars had a serviceable vet at the QB position. Their defense last year was the only thing that held them back. Probably the worst pick I've seen in some time.

@carlfense--The Patriot Act issue is the most glaring because he went back on everything he said to get elected. I honestly don't know how anyone could argue in Obama's favor. Do you live in the United States? Have you flown on a plane?
