  1. and this is why I didn't take too much stock in how our kids vented. It's natural really
  2. Just goes to show ya that they may have not had the scoop after all!
  3. That struck me as odd, too. You'd think he'd have a pretty full Rolodex by now. Yeah...I think he has been pretty isolated...but it still something that kind of bugs me a bit...1. Really well respected but might not know a lot of guys 2. Might be bringing most/all of his old staff 3. Offense is a hodgepodge/multiple Not the end of the world but just things that kind of made me go "hmmmm" He's been here a single day folks. Give him some time....he's got plenty of it. Thats just it...he doesn't have plenty of time. He is starting recruiting today, he said...time is up. Exactly. He doesn't have plenty of time, he needs to get to work yesterday. I,agree with you about all of your concerns. I was expecting him to win the press conference, but I wasn't impressed. I said last night that this hire seemed very callahanesque, after hearing this press conference and everything about this guy, he seems more Doc Sadler to me. Wow. Just Wow. You guys need to let him take care of business. He's got 40 more years experience than you and he knows what he's doing. It just goes to show ya that in this world, you CANNOT please everybody. FFS give the guy a chance!
  4. It's funny you say that because I was thinking the same things about how he reminds me of both Tom Osborne and another great coach, Dick Vermeil.
  5. He seems like the person that our student athletes don't want to disappoint on and off the field.
  6. I also have this gut feeling that he will be going after a person who is currently coaching the offense for the Ducks.
  7. While listening to Mike Riley's press conference this guy has sold his ideas on me! I love the fact that he is going to hold his coaches accountable in regards to how they coach our student athletes. I love how he is embracing the tradition at Nebraska and the core values that our university stands for. Now I see how every coach in the country likes this guy. I also love the fact how he says that he and his staff needs to hit the recruiting trail fast! Welcome to Nebraska Coach Riley, you have gained a HUGE fan in me! GO BIG RED!!!
  8. I am being very optimistic about this hire. The guy comes with a ton of head coaching experience, player development and knowledge. I am VERY interested on who he is going to select for his coaching staff.
  9. must have been Frost he was having lunch with because Nebraska is the only place with unrealistic expectations. By unrealistic do you mean beat ranked opponents?
  10. You lost me at "ESPN" But I agree....We the Big 10 need to pick our game and bring this conference to the fore front. I am sooooo tired of hearing about the friggen SEC!
  11. No it's never ok, but some people think Osborne led a squeaky clean program and walked on water. Listen I will always be a HUGE fan of TO but like every coach, he has done some things that he hasn't been proud of.
  12. For a minute there...I thought you meant Warren Buffet was throwing his hat in the ring to lead the defense.
  13. Osborne is just as guilty as Tressel at covering up for his guys and we're gonna built ducking statues of him soon. Nebraska will always preach a clean program, but they will overlook this and preach Tressels great leadership of young men. He will be knocked for a bit if eichorst can't renegotiate the show cause penalty, but I think Eichorst is making this deal because he already has a great strategy to take the NCAA. He will preach an impeccable compliance department that will be transparent and thorough after hiring Tressel. Really? Got specifics you can back up or are you just into slandering people using the anonymity of the interwebs? Do some digging there is plenty
  14. Osborne was no Saint by any stretch of the imagination!
  15. Oh nothing really...You may have heard that Bo got fired. No big deal
  16. Frost had served one year as defensive coordinator at the University of Northern Iowa (2008) and two seasons as the Panthers’ linebackers coach (2007-08).
  17. I think if Frost was given the HC position he would do a great job recruiting up and down the West Coast. The guy is young yes, but he would be very appealing to younger kids with his history of playing at the both college and NFL levels. Also the fact that he has the experience of running the offense that Oregon runs. Oh and he has experience playing on Defense as well. Yes it's wishful thinking that we land SF, but crazier things have happened!
