  1. Not at the moment. But it could be the case. It would make sense. N as in Nebraska bound, or N as in Notre Dame bound? Nebraska Bound! whoa whoa whoa were is this coming from and who exactly is this buddy!! we need sources! proof! obligations! Rivals! Scout!! wooooo hoooo if true!!! I just talked to him and he's getting this from an "ND message board insider" he's saying that ND coaches have been informed that Cooper will not be going to ND, but the part about him being N was just an assumption. I'm waiting for a link. Take it all with a grain a salt. Sorry. But this means nothing then because I believe the Illini to be our main competition for his services. I tend to agree with you, but as tired and frustrated he seams to be with the process, I can't imagine why he would drag this out if he was going to stay with Illinois. Exactly. If he hated the process he would have just stayed safe with Illinois. He's gotta be between NU and ND, ND backed off because they wanted him as a WR and it wasn't going to work like they thought. I think Illinois is his safety/fallback but I think he will be N
  2. he has decided which school he will go to, but he is keeping it silent until tomorrow at 1:30ct. he plans to let the coaches know tomorrow morning, and then will announce to everyone else including public, players, and recruiting websites at 1:30ct.
  3. Pelini is trying to make an immediate impact though. He knows that in order to get more HS :star :star kids he has to be win, get a lot of media attention, and be ranked high in the polls. Schools like Florida State and ND don't have to win to bring people in consistantly, unfortunately we do. I think it is better for this class to have 3 JUCO players because that means there are more immediate impact players who can win for us next season, rather than having to be developed... which paves the way for players to knock on our door for a chance to play for NU, players that are from far away states that is. I'm from Texas, born and raised here a husker fan my whole life. And I can tell you that down here, people outside of those who have been raised husker fans, think NU had a good defense last year, but that was because of SUH and they don't forsee us being a consistant top 10 team in the future. I have lived in Texas my whole life and there are VERY FEW people in this state that have respect for current Nebraska. They know we used to be a power house in the 70's-90's, but we have a generation of HS kids right now who don't remember 1994,1995, and 1997. Do I think that knowledge of the program and belief in the program is improving? YES. But I think it is going to take 3-4 years of top 10 rankings from Nebraska before we will land consistent top 10 recruiting classes. One good season isn't going to do it. So the fact that we have some killer JUCO players enables us to be able to succeed quicker, build on a solid season from last year, prove to skeptics that we are a quality TEAM not just SUH (eventhough suh is incredible), Beat teams like Texas and OU a few years in a row, and win some BCS games. If NU can do these things soon, then it will: help demolish the stereotypes people have about NU, show the world our Program, build respect, and give NU national respect by not only coaches, but HS players across the country. Bottom Line: NU needs back to back to back successful seasons, BCS games, and wins over Big 12 south teams to gain respect from large amounts of quality HS players in major recruiting states (Texas, Florida, California). Large amounts meaning Florida, Texas, Alabama, OU recruiting numbers.
  4. Here's how I look at it... even if we don't land any of the Big 3. We still have 18 commits for this year, including 6 :star :star, and 10 :star . That is already better than last year's class, and here we are complaining and panicking if we don't land a few more? If I remember right, last year we were absolutely ecstatic about having the class that we did with 5 :star :star This year it is already better than last year's class (Rivals ranking quality wise) and here we are saying this class is a major let down if we don't land a :star :star and a :star :star on top of what we already have, even though we only won 1 more game this year than last year? I realize there are a lot of factors that figure into our feelings, but come on people! We should be grateful that we are getting who we are getting and trust Bo's coaching to make up for where we lack star wise.
  5. Yeah, we lost Fajardo... when the coaches called him and told him not to come visit, he gave up on us. He's probably a little ticked we led him on this whole time, plus he knows he can start and play a lot at Nevada as one of their top recruits, where here he'd have to fight for respect. Coaches can't contact him, he's not gonna contact us. He's Nevada's.
  6. I hate to break it to ya, but Jeremy Crabtree changed his prediction from NU to UCLA this morning on Rivals. There are now 2 analysts saying Owa is UCLA and 3 saying he is NU... there was originally 1 UCLA and 4 NU... things seem to be leaning towards UCLA in these final days. Maybe it's because NU fans keep getting all in his business on facebook... while the other fans are leaving him alone respectfully. See here for this morning's FREE rankings Rivals 2.2.10 Rankings
  7. There's no doubt in my mind... Wednesday afternoon This is my Anthem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYnsHP0UTHU&feature=related I hope someone from HuskerVision picks that up and uses it at the games. Lol!! It would be awesome to play when he makes plays... screw the eyes across the screen if we have an Owa celebration chant!!!
  8. I think I'd have to give that title to Braylon Heard . . . #5 RB overall . . . or Jemarcus Hardrick if you are into the big ugly scene. If you're going for "underrated steals" as your offensive gems category... then I'd have to further disagree and say that Enunwa is going to be that underrated steal of this year's class for offense.
  9. Maybe i'm way slow on this but ND is recruiting Cooper as a WR!!! Supposedly he "wowed" ND at their camp last year at that position. It's talked about here if you scroll down a little more than half a page. If ND is recruiting Cooper for Offense that changes things... then it comes down to whether he'd rather play offense or defense. ND's poor defense no longer plays a role in the decision.
  10. It'd sound something like "Ohh-Waaaa, Ohh-Waaaa, Ohh-Waaaa" Better yet, listen to the clip below between the 0:08 - 0:26 second mark. That's exactly how I imagine the chant to sound like. haha... that's nice I like it. Maybe they can play that video too, or better yet... get Naz to wear a husker throw back with Owa's jersey on it, and re-film a version for Owa... it would electrify the student section and the team if that happened. Can you imagine the scene... pure awesomeness!
  11. I'm going w/ "Zuw" or "Zuwa" We could go with a "O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O" Just chant the o's like a gorilla sound. Or we could replace SUUUUUUUH with a ZOOOOOOOOOO Or even a hound dog howel like a Aw-oooooooooooohhhhhhhhwwwaaaaaaa
  12. Which is why I thought we started to cool on him, plus his relationship with the WKU coaches, and playing time makes WKU a better fir for Brion. I don't blame him one bit for going to WKU. Why head to a program where chances are you might not get in, most likely will never see a starting role, and don't have as good of a relationship with the coaches. He's making the right choice. Congratulations Brion!!! Although you should start preparing to get ready to be pancaked by Crick, Steinkuhler, Allen, Ankrah, And Meredith... when you come to Lincoln in September.
  13. That would be a negative. Although I do think that David Lavonte is a more proper name than Lavonte David... seems like his name is backwards.
  14. So if Owa signs on Wednesday... What are we going to cheer at the games next fall? you guys vote:
  15. I have a hard time Cooper isn't at least leaning in one direction if he hasn't yet made up his mind. I really don't think that after all these days of confusion, it will just come to him tomorrow and he will have clarity and sign Wednesday morning.
  16. I think it's a sign...he's N-chin' closer... That was clever, incredibly corny , but it did make me lol.
  17. If 4.57 is his legit speed then he is too slow to play WR at Nebraska.
  18. not trying to be rude, but who cares if he is back in time for Spring Ball... I don't think even a "healthy" Lee is going to beat out Green and Spano. While I want to believe Lee was hampered with injury, the fact that he kept playing on it and not saying anything to the coaches proves that he is the "selfish" type as opposed to the players who puts team (Suh is a fine example of such a player) before self. I hope Lee is recovering, but I don't think his absence is going to hurt our offense any. This is a joke right? I agree. I distinctly remember Lee saying that he had it checked out... it was something he could play through and not injure further... so he waited it out and got the surgery after the season. I'm pretty sure Watson knew all along. And I don't think it was a selfish thing. Green was not ready (he looked like a deer in the headlights in the Holiday bowl, per the announcers words) and Lee knew that he needed to tough it out to help his team.
  19. Can I just say, I love how all these new Player names are popping up as Recruiting profiles out of nowhere. It's like a mahem has let loose, ppl want a QB no matter how far down they have to dig into Athletes to find a develop-able one. Word breaks loose that Carnes is out, ppl start jumping for :star Athlete/QB converts they would have ridiculed NU for even looking at had it been a couple weeks ago. PPl just want to give out the scholies. Hilarious!!
  20. Any word on how Zac Lee's rehab has been going since surgery on his arm? What is the predicted time frame before he is 100%?
  21. I'm super excited about our RB's this next year. We are stacked at that position with talent. Last year... Roy Helu (injured most of the year, played a majority of snaps) Burkhead (didn't play much until Helu started getting hurt, then exploded in Co game) Robinson (had a RS until 3/4 thru the season when Helu and Burkhead went down) Heard (was a senior in HS developing into the #5 back in the country) This year... we are much deeper Sr Roy Helu*** (Look for him to explode, then get injured ) So Rex Burkhead**** (I expect to see Burkhead gain 10-15lbs, beat out Helu for the starting spot, and explode with the better OL blocking) So Trey Robinson*** (This guy is going to have much better footwork, put on some muscle, and be a HUGE powerback for us this fall, he will be automatic on 4th and 1) Fr Braylon Heard**** (I think he will play as a freshman and will have similar stats to Burkhead's last year) Throw in Aaron Green next year as a replacement for Helu and watch out Big 12, Even Texas and OU ain't got nothin on our run game!!!
  22. With all the Carnes drama, his thread may catch up to Owa's 44 page thread by Wednesday.
  23. There is a new teaser on Rivals indicating some new info about Owa... anyone care to fill us in? I believe it is about how he came to the decision he will announce on Wednesday.
