  1. Brandon Spikes actually suspended himself for what it's worth...
  2. The Line wasn't pass blocking well because they were bringing more than would could pick up most of the time. In that case you run a screen... which we did guess how many times... ONCE. For a pretty nice gain. Or you could try running shorter routs instead of the longer than 10 yard routs that seem to get coverd and lead to sacks. Or like was mentioned before use straight run plays instead of the zone read which Taylor wasn't making the right reads on.
  3. Wow... That is how you write an article. Its amazing when you see a sports writer who isn't pretentious, let alone one who is actually versed in the modern world and the ancient world!
  4. Speaking of. Assuming we have Musberger and Herbstreit calling our game, drink every time Musberger says "Herbie." And I could not be happier about the potential ending to this season... How about everytime he says something stupid like a "hoosier is down" when OU and OSU are playing, or everytime he calls a TD/first down when the guy is tackled 5 yards short, or an incomplete pass that is completed/picked off.
  5. He had that problem at linebacker too early in the year, he would take on the leadblocker and sometimes obliterate him but he would never come off and make the tackle and no one was there in support. Im not sure he knows how to finish plays (see his suspension block where he celebrates before its over). Guess thats the mental development hes working on!
  6. Who ever is running the truck for ABC does not need to comeback next year. Every time something controversial happens, great catch/no catch or a penalty we are lucky to see one replay of it. It's not just our games either it seems like every game I watch on ABC has the same issue. It really gets frustrating because it feels like you're missing half the game. At the stadium you can see the whole field so you can at least get a glimpse of something, but when you're locked in by the camera it sure would be nice to actually see what happened or get a second angle on it. I think Cunningham did a decent job calling the game, but just because you officiaed a spring game doesn't make you an all knowing head official. He really needs to get off his high hourse on officiating and simply hold the officials accountable for their calls/no calls, not the players. No one on ESPN/ABC does that and I think it can be an issue. When you watch the SEC on CBS they will flat out say that it was a terrible call or let you know when something wasn't right.
  7. I pictured an enchanting wonderland where a man could be a man, a place where liberals were free to be chai tea sipping, Suburu driving yuppies, conservatives were free to be gun-toting Jesus fanatics, and hobbits were free to be hobbits. Let's just say I was disappointd. At least the women can still be naked!
  8. No but I was rubbing hips with the lady next to me the whole game because there was no room on the bench. Almost had to put the gf on my lap, which wouldn't be all bad...
  9. he doesnt have an account Then why was it so reported stuff that he wrote on it. Like telling the refs from Saturday that they suck, and the reported TMart is all good and what not post on Sunday. All of this was from this board and other boards so I think it is out there. Someone step up to the plate. That would be his twitter account.
  10. I'm not 100% but I'm pretty sure it was his second PF that I caught. I just happened to glance that way and saw him absolutely pancake a kid. I only caught it a split second before he threw the block but it was nowhere near as violent or high as his OSU hit and the kid landed flat on his back so it wasn't a block in the back called wrong. The flag got thrown almost immediately after the hit and I went nuts over it because it was perfectly clean. Only thing that came to mind was maybe they felt it was too far away from the action to be warranted. Re-watching the game today I don't know where the first one came from, maybe they mixed him and Ebke #32 up, because he had a pretty solid hit. (Not because he was my high school quarterback or anything, but) That guy has been pretty tough on special teams this year and always gets after it he and Eric are the two guys I try to focus on during special teams.
  11. Alright, with all the negativity the last two and a half days I thought Id just take some time to talk about a few positives from my experience in College Station. Wasnt able to get to town early enough to tailgate but my god there were SO many spots to go to. Plenty of huskers mixed in with the Aggies too. Only scuffle I saw was some drunken frat boy mouthing off and telling some blue hairs to walk on after the game. Really a nice campus and a good stadium as well little steep and a long walk to the top but what can you do about it? During the game there was an incident and Ill have to talk about the negative to get to the positive. One of the ushers not the hired security but an official A&M staffer came to the row behind us and told a lady that he needed her sign. When she asked what was going on he became sterner and told her to give me the sign. She pointed out that other people including the student section had signs and he responds with, Well, YOU cant have one! He proceeded to walk down the isle and snatch the poster from her. The sign was just a play on ABC that read our blAckshirts are Better than your wrecking Crew. This guy really pissed me off and it took a lot not to go Bo on him after the game. But everyone around us from A&M was apologizing for his behavior after the game and I really, really appreciated that. I thought they really showed the character of the people much better than that dbag did. (Not sure what the rules are but I counted at least 10 signs in the student section that stayed the whole game. Not to mention the PSA at the beginning only mention that umbrellas are not allowed never mentioning signs and every fan has a towel.) That brings me to the fans as a whole. WOW! Defiantly a great atmosphere in the stadium and was very loud. I was defiantly taking note as a student and pretty jealous of their section behind the bench who were loud even through the commercial breaks. Never heard anyone complaining about standing or even Husker fans standing. Half time performance was impressive Ill have to admit that you guys have one hell of a band. Nothing flashy like you see at NU, but the technical aspect of maneuvers and formations where pretty impressive. Needless to say after the game I wasnt very happy and I usually dont talk when Im in that bad of a mood, but every A&M fan that walk past was saying good game and complementing us on our team their speed and things like that. I couldnt help but change my mood they were really friendly and just wanted to talk about everything under the sun. My dad whos pretty quiet couldnt get this one guy off his ear. Was really a great guy and was genuinely interest in our team and our thoughts and sharing his Aggies with us. Even thought the roughing penalty was bs and wished it didnt end that way. Overall it was a great experience and I think Texas A&M has some of the best fans Ive ever been around hats off to you guys and good luck so long as were not playing each other.
  12. If you look at the shadows it's pretty hard to argue that someone didn't reach for his camera. And I guess now Carl is saying he did grab the camera. But for all this guys talk about Carl being an ass he is the one who is looking like the ass with a video that has no sound accusing him having an outburst with a "well wishing" team doctor and all we can see is a firm fingering being pointed his way and no audio from either party. Not to mention no evidence that Carl "ripped" pieces of his camera off.
  13. It was a pretty short clip. It consisted of a few highlights of Turner and then Tom welcoming him back and and I think talking about what he meant to the university, but I couldn't hear to well in East stadium. (Audio upgrade please!)
  14. Well there's probably a lot of reasons for that. 1) south stadium is usually freshmen and sophomores 2)anyone at the top didn't come an hour early and probably isn't that interested in the game 3) it was rookie night and most of them don't want to stay the whole game and because of #4 they left early 4) It was a little chilly, not to mention if your high in south stadium your completely exposed to the wind.
  15. Haha ok then point taken. Didn't mean to piss you off, just to point out what I thought they were calling. And the rant about the article wasn't directed at you more so the author of it (hopefully not you, lol)
  16. I'm sorry you don't agree but I specifcally remeber watching the line judge during this play and he waved his hands over his head signalling the clock to keep running and then I heard the whistle in East stadium. And yes Rex's progress had stopped well before he stepped out of bounds. I don't remeber how much time was left either but don't forget that the clock doesn't stop if you go out of bounds above 2 minutes unless you get a first down. I see you've added to your previous post too. Let me just say that I have no idea why you're calling me out on my opinion in such an arrogant fashion, but in no way am I being "cocksure" and in no way is my opinion "oddball". I try to know and understand the rules and I try to keep an unbiased opinion about the officating as well, even though it's been very hard this year.
  17. Actually that was the correct call. His forward progress had been stopped and he had been driven pretty much parallel from the numbers out of bounds, the ref just didn't blow the whistle right away. As for this article I think its crap! The only solid argument is the paragraph about Eric Martin's hit. It feels like this guy is stretching the truth to slant his article, the only accusations about an illegal hit by Osborne were by opposing fans and the announcer who's name shall not be mentioned not the officials as the article may insinuate. Although no apology is odd since it was obviously the wrong call on the fumble. The Helu fumble all I can say is I hope the umpire saw what he called, because he is the only person other than Roy who actually MAY have had a clean view. While the face mask on Burkhead was clearly illegal and should easily warrant at least some type of punishment, if you watch the replay no single official on the field could have seen the face mask. If anyone is to blame for this one it’s Cody Green for blocking the line judge’s view who then threw the flag for Legate’s reaction. The face mask last night was pretty questionable it was hard to tell by the single replay I saw but I’m not sure if he even grabbed it, but the tackle most defiantly was not aided by it. And the holding on Crick’s sack should have drawn a flag, but if you watch the officials tendancies over the past few years they seem to never throw a flag for holding if a sack occurs pretty quickly after the foul no matter how flagrant it is. Maybe they become to concerned with the qb’s safety to pay attention at that point. I actually thought the Kansas game was well officiated by big 12 standards. That doesn’t mean that there weren’t A LOT of missed calls, but that’s been the norm for the past few years no matter what teams are playing. To me it doesn’t seem like the on field crews have that much against us, if you notice they let quite a few of our more obvious pass interference calls go. But when you take a look at some of the calls from the replay booth and the decisions by the office that’s where things get fishy.
  18. "Can you feel it" is all right for 30 seconds but after that it's just annoying. Start me up is still the song I think of when I think warm afternoon kickoffs in the good ol'days.
  19. He said he tried to pin down Bo on if he said yes or no on TO asking him if he approved of going to the Big 10. Bo gave him nothing. This has to change. Bo is a great defensive mind but his stock answers to interviewers leaves a lot to be desired. That is putting it nicely, actually. It is hard for DP to comment on a guy that gave him nothing over a 3 minute interview. If Bo answered his questions with more info and personality, then DP would've made more comments at the end after Bo hung up. I wish I had those 3 minutes back. TO can talk for hours about nothing as well, I think it's just one of those coaching traits that they pick up to deal with the media.
  20. You are correct, they came back immediately to the next play like nothing happened. Actually Cunningham does mention breifly during one of the replays that it should have been a fumble, then he gets right back on his soap box about "targeting". But they did not say another word after the commercial or show another replay of the FUMBLE.
  21. I'll chip in for gas! I think it's mainly because penalties are generally judgement calls and when you look at them you could call something different everytime. Not to mention the speed at which you play it back changes how flagrant/devastating things look.
  22. The play was reviewed and I'm pretty certain that I remember the ref coming out and facing west like they usually do to address the call, but his mic wasn't on and we never heard what he said in the stadium. I also thought it was kind of strange that he came out before the TV timeout was over, because I remember looking over and seeing the guy with his orange glove still out signaling that they weren’t even back from commercial yet.
