  1. Didn't people say the samething about Glenn last year that he could do what Lucky is doing if he was just given the chance. Where is he at these days? I heard running on the Scout team. Castille needs to hang on to the ball and what exactly has Helu shown that proves he could do what Lucky has? Once again the guy gets no credit from some folks. I'm sure that Lucky going into the flats or over the middle is the same play. I'm sure he doesn't do that on multiple plays. It's xbox just keep calling the same plays. So unless the team is winning stats mean nothing? Troy Davis back to back 2000 season don't mean crap because those teams sucked. Most of Barry Sanders and Walter Payton's pro stats are meaningless because their teams were terrible most of the time. As of this week WE don't have a losing record it is 4-4 and to use the logic of the "Talking heads" after the 02 season that is not a losing season. Helu by far was the fastest back out there. He was able to turn the corner and gain good yardage. There were many times when Lucky caught a dumpdown pass that there were receivers open downfield. Swift and Hill were open on a couple of different occasions. Don't know why SK isn't throwing them the ball. It was good to see the young kids finally get the ball. Lucky avg 2.9 ypc while Castille had nearly 7 ypc and Helu had nearly 8 ypc. it is because he doesnt have the time to wait for them to get open. by the time he makes his first and second read the d-line is on him and he has to drop the pass off........or that was the play call in the first place and Lucky was the first read Oh don't give me that no time BS. SK had plenty of time against A&M. I was at the game. A good pocket was formed and he had 5, 6, or 7 seconds to throw the ball. He would look to one side of the field, lock in on a receiver, then check down to Lucky. Trust me, I wasn't the only fan in the stands that noticed this. Keller was only sacked twice in the game, and I believe both of them came in the second half. read the whole post, and since you were at the game, are you telling me that SK had 5-7 seconds to throw the ball every time he dropped back to pass? he was only sacked 2 times but how many times did he get rushed, hit after he threw the ball, ect I read the whole post, now you go and read previous post. Did SK have 5-7 seconds to throw the ball in every one of his 44 pass attempts, probably not. Did he have ample time to throw the ball to other receivers in many of the 17 or so pass attempts to ML. Yes. The A&M fans were joking after they got the first sack of the day, "Our first sack of the year." I highly doubt that is true, and not going to take the time to look it up, but that says to me that even they know they have a sh!tty DL and pass rush.
  2. Apparently our recruiting guru, aka bill callahan, hasn't been keeping up his end of the bargin w/ recruiting. LJS Blog D.J. Woods, a prep receiver from Ohio who gave his oral commit to Nebraska, said Tuesday night he hasn't heard from Husker coaches in two or three weeks. He said he doesn't blame them. He knows they're going through a lot. Last time he talked to them, "they said they don’t know what’s going on. “Their voices just sound depressed, like they know they’re going to get fired," Woods said. "In the back of my head, I kind of know the coaching staff is going to be gone. I’m just trying to figure out who the next coach is going to be.” He's visiting West Virginia, Penn State and North Carolina in the meantime. Almost makes you wonder if he has just given up on recruiting like he has on coaching?
  3. You're changing the subject. We're talking about Pelini and why people might not want him. Not about things Callahan should have said or should not have said. Keep is straight. Oh yeah, I forgot bill gets a couple of get out of jail cards. Don't forget the throat slash either. I will assume that you mean that NU plays with class and treats others with class. I guess if you really are a hillbilly, being called a f*cking hillbilly really shouldn't bother you.
  4. I was at the game Saturday in the student section and I heard very few boos if any. The students even tried getting into the game and then... second half came. Fans are trying to show support but it is very hard to support coaches that don't want to be here. The stadium was very dead. There were signs of life when we were only down by 2 at half, but once A&M got the ball the second half then it was over. The fans started leaving w/ 10 minutes left in the game. Everyone wants to support the team, but the aura surrounding the stadium right now is bad. A new change would definitely bring some excitement.
  5. OK, I have to ask. What about "more than winning"? The idea that Nebraska tries to be a step above that garbage. Or does "more than winning" just apply when you are indeed winning? I guess F#cking Hillbillies doesn't matter.
  6. What is BC, 26-19. Hell, if he goes 32-0 he can equal Solich's record. i don't see how 26-19 is excellent. If most people only did 57% of their job task correctly they probably wouldn't last too, especially if the have shown decline from the previous years. But he has been bringing in good recruits.

  9. isn't that sad that we have to give such a discount on the tixs? At the A&M game I had a really tough time getting anyone interested for more than 20 bucks. Finally sold it for $20 thirty minutes before game time just to get something extra...and the guy never even used the seat. I laughed in a scalper's face when he offered me $5 for it with 3 hours until game time. He asked me "what do you think it's worth"...."F'ing' face value to you!" I refuse to sell it cheap to scalpers. Husker fans I will... I had the same problem. I purchased 10 tix through A&M in August. Ended up selling 1 for face value and 2 for $20 a piece. I think the university should refund my money because they are not selling the product that they promised all summer and preseason long.
  10. Joel Mackovicka made a similar comment on 1620 the other night. Don't get me wrong - I want the best talent possible, and I do believe that there is a direct correlation between recruiting rankings and actual results on the field. Except with us. We should be top 15 every year. We can't even sniff the top 25 right now.
  11. Have three tix available for the NU vs. A&M game. sect 19 row 82 seats 25-27 Asking $65 per ticket. Would like to sell all three together, but would be willing to split them up. Email or pm me with interests. Will be in Lincoln late Friday night, can meet Saturday morning for exchange. bbard6932@hotmail.com
  12. Yeah, because he has such a good record.
  13. I'm going. I've got family from all over the country meeting me in lincoln this weekend. Hopefully there is new life in Huskerland
  14. i will be sad. We have the talent to win a couple more games, and make it to the toilet bowl, but at least it is a bowl and another month for the team to practice. Just need someone in there to light a fire. If cosgrove is still there I will ask that someone
  15. Oh please send his smug ass packing. If pud gets canned, does that mean he won't do his radio show tonight?
  16. I think the pleasefirecallahan.com website is suffering no more setbacks.
  17. I find this one funny with the current state of the union.
  18. I think this thread deserves a big drink of..............................
  19. yeah, I saw that earlier. My how we have fallen
  20. Did anyone else have trouble getting on the board this evening. Several times I tried to go to the site and the page couldn't be found after about two minutes of trying to connect. This occured from automatic emails, google search, and typing the Url into the address bar.
  21. Me too. Actually I am driving to Lincoln on Friday to catch the game, then back to Denver Sunday morning to catch the Broncos Steelers game that night.
