  1. Yeah, Vegas doesn't have their secretaries do it for them.
  2. Sparty opens as 13 point underdogs to Ohio St. One of the largest spreads ever for two top ten teams.
  3. What if it's really cloudy?
  4. You could argue Alabama or Ohio St pretty easily. In the end, Ohio St will have a chance catch up simply because their schedule is back loaded, and Alabama was front loaded. Two things we must remember about the CFP vs traditional polls: 1) The CFP resets every week, whereas a team jumping another team without that team losing is rare in the traditional polls. Rankings don't matter at all until the last poll, and if not for ESPN these early rankings would not even exist until later. 2) At this point in time (though maybe not after Tuesday), Alabama and Ohio St are equal. 2 and 3 are equivalent in the final rankings. We must treat these early rankings as very relative at this point. They are nothing more than a snapshot at where the committee thinks teams are at through the present schedule.
  5. The fact this is all we really have to debate shows how one sided this game quickly became.
  6. 38 rushes vs. 21 passes = incessant passing? Yes, at times. Or just passing when we shouldn't have. When you're up 21-0 with 4 minutes left in the half and your run game is doing decently, run it on first down. We passed it on 1st down two series in a row IIRC and threw 2 interceptions. If both those passes were completions rather than interceptions, nobody is complaining about them being "bad calls." It's absurd. These kind of argmuments were the reason the term "Monday morning quarterback" was coined. And your argument is an example of results oriented thinking.
  7. The PAC really didn't want in. The Stanford house of toothpicks fell. Curious how the committee reacts.
  8. That makes no sense. If you lived in Iowa it would.... Doubt it. That'd make me want even more for Nebraska to be the one who breaks their hearts. nah. I just want their hearts broken. I don't care who does it. I've grown up dealing with Iowa and ISU fans giving me crap for being a husker fan, so I'm always content when they lose. The gophers are hiding. Too many mallets to the head.
  9. And deny me the opportunity to call them overrated for two weeks? You do know we don't have a game next week and we've already exhausted most of the arguable material from the Rutgers game. We need Iowa to be grossly overrated just to keep from turning on each other.
  10. Was that before or after the longhorn network was to make Texas an unstoppable juggernaut?
  11. Don't schedule both North Carolina a&t and Delaware if you want respect. They didn't have to play FSU or Clemson. Let's see how the ACC championship game goes. Their SOS is so low it may be the lowest P5 SOS under some methods. It's not worth the effort to find out, but it is in that ballpark. Shame, too, because their metrics are so good they may be in a similar position with a substantially tougher schedule. All I know is, if I'm Clemson I'm damn nervous.
  12. The ground game is no less going for the kill than the passing game....and may be more so. Honestly, I'd think you'd know that. You know it! Especially with a turnover prone QB. Sometimes TA is worse when things are going well. He gets over confident. At least we'll have something to argue about the next two weeks. There for a while it looked like that wouldn't happen.
  13. I think we can then be declared the "unofficial Big Ten Champions" !!! LOL Now the Big Ten would really HATE Nebraska and you can then bet that we will be screwed and screwed and blued and tattooed for years after. Why? Because we knocked two teams out of the national title playoffs and cost the conference about 20 million dollars! LOL They should at least give us a trophy for getting Wisconsin and Northwestern into the rankings.
  14. I agree, usually it just prevents you from winning. But I like aggressive play, that is why I liked the passes before the half and I want to play the same defense that has pressured them until the game is over. I like smart play.
  15. They haven't had a first string TD the last three games. Yes, they've played against better defenses. But better defenses diminish your performance, they don't tend to completely eliminate it.
  16. So, you like TA's passing as the emphasis in this offense?Nope. He's been great at times and God-awful at others. That's TA.But it's what we've got. Fans are delusional if they think this offense is going to magically morph into a run-reliant one any time soon. It's pass-reliant, like it or not. Coaches sticking to their guns and coaching THEIR system. I like it. It's reliant on both, if that's the word you want to use. Then again, so are most offenses.
  17. how was that the staff's fault. At some point Armstrong has to look at where he's throwing and say "oh there's a dude in the throwing lane, I better not throw it there" The staff has to know the limitations of the players. TA has had this tendency for a long time. The gameplan should limit TA's opportunities to hurt us with bad decisions. When you need to take risks, like last week, you do so. When you don't need to, like being up 3 scores on a team with 30 yards, you need to realize who your QB is. Tommy has to make better decisions, but coaches have to realize the strengths and weaknesses of their personnel.
  18. Up 3 scores. They can't move the ball. They're struggling against your running game. You have a great punter in case things go wrong. PlaycallComputer2.9 says to start heaving.
