  1. It will just allow those schools to pound the crap out of eachother for a season then when it comes time to play in bowl game they will be just worn out after playing a daunting schedule of Miami, Florida, Bama, GT, UGA, LSU
  2. If the Pac 10 is smart they will tell Texas that they cannot have a Texas Network, but then again it is the Pac 10 and they do have coaches that are pretty hot headed with Lane Kiffin, Chip Kelly, Rickky Neuweasel who will want a share of that pie.

    S Aaryn Bouzos

Except this guy can actually cover. Ya, Wald was basically a more physical version of Brandon Rigoni, a ST's warrior. He made some sense at the time but wouldn't get a sniff now. Think Bouzos would be a good gunner but can be more than that. His highlight-film showed more than just guys getting lit-up. Hopefully he's a sleep-hit ala Taylor Martinez. Folks scoffed when we offered and he turnd out to be a stud. Aaryn will most certainly be a Rigoni type, but with a little bit og Matt O'Hanlon mixed in. When he gets to campus the Pelinis will teach him how to properly tackle in the open field. He will be fine, the 2 rating doesnt make a damn bit of difference with me.
  4. In a perfect world Texas would be forced into the SEC to follow aTm and play a daunting schedule of LSU, Bama, Florida, UGA and finally come to realize that they arnt top dogs, but unfortunatly we dont live in a perfect world. I can dream though right?
  5. I dont see this Jalen sticking with USC like EZ said. Hes gotta be looking at us now considering we are now in a prestigous academic conference, same coaches he fell in love with during the spring game.
  6. No doubt in my mind that Braylon will be here, the kid is going to do whatever it takes. Us jining the Big 10 gives him a little more incentive to qualify to show Ohio State what they missed on.
  7. Give me Chris Gallipo, Ronald Johnson, and Tyrone Smith
  8. By Bill Kurelic ESPN Recruiting Archive It has been widely reported that the Big Ten is poised to add Nebraska as its 12th team, possibly as soon as today. The Cornhuskers would certainly be a strong conference member when it comes to Big Ten football, and the move could help build the Nebraska roster. Nebraska is already considered a good recruiter nationally, but being a part of the Big Ten would likely help the Cornhuskers' recruiting efforts in talent-rich states such as Ohio, Illinois and Pennsylvania. Defensive lineman Kevin Williams (Holland, Ohio/Springfield), who committed to the Cornhuskers in April, leaves no doubt he is excited about the possibility of Nebraska joining the Big Ten. Davide De Pas Nebraska commit Tyler Moore, a fourth-generation Husker, will miss playing in the Big 12, but likes the possible move to the Big Ten. "I think it would be great because my family could see me play easier," Williams said. "I think it's about a 45-minute drive when we would play at Michigan. And Ohio State is of course not too far." Williams is not worried about playing against Big Ten competition as compared to the Big 12. "It would be a little different than playing in the Big 12," Williams said. "It would be a little more of a challenge. But I would get to play in the conference I grew up watching. My decision came down to Nebraska and several Big Ten schools, so I'll get to play against those teams I watched growing up. "I think it's a really good idea." Another Cornhuskers commitment, quarterback Jamal Turner (Arlington, Texas/Sam Houston), also thinks the move would be a positive for the Nebraska football program. "I'm kind of excited about it," Turner said. "It would be a new conference with new teams, so I'm excited. I've thought about playing Ohio State." However, there is one small negative when it comes to someone like Turner who grew up in Big 12 country. "I won't be playing in Texas, so my family won't be able to see me play as much," Turner said. "But they can fly down to Lincoln. And there is the Big Ten Network too. "I just think it's a good move for Nebraska. Everyone's talking about it." Offensive lineman Tyler Moore (Clearwater, Fla./Countryside), another Nebraska commitment, has a lineage with Nebraska that goes back several generations: His father, uncle and grandfather all played for the Cornhuskers. Moore told ESPN.com's Corey Long there is one drawback to the Cornhuskers leaving the Big 12 and playing Oklahoma every year. "I grew up watching the NU-OU games, and those games mean a lot to me and my family," Moore said. "But if we played Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State every year, those would be big games too. It's going to be exciting for the program, the players and the fans." Wide receiver Devin Smith (Massillon, Ohio/Washington) has an offer from Nebraska and thinks the Cornhuskers would be an excellent addition to the Big Ten. "I saw on TV they might join the conference," Smith said. "I was surprised. The Big Ten has a lot of good teams, and adding Nebraska would be another good team. I think they would be a good addition to the Big Ten." Defensive end Ryan Shazier (Plantation, Fla./Plantation), another prospect the Cornhuskers have offered, has been thinking about making an official visit to Nebraska. Shazier gave the Cornhuskers' potential move to the Big Ten a thumbs-up. "I think it would be good," Shazier said. "They'll play some competition that will be different. I think this conference expansion stuff is a great idea. We'll see how it works out."
  9. If Jamals happy, then I'm happy! Now go gets Aaron Green, Jamal!
  10. There is a thread on RSS about Aaron and the Big 10 and his thoughts.
  11. http://www.lvrj.com/sports/gorman-grad-grimble-firm-on-commitment-to-usc-96126744.html?ref=744 I still dont trust those used car salesman at USC, they are going to try and keep Jalen at any cost (pressumably by the book but you never know)
  12. See Bo's first year 2008, shouldve beat them.
  13. It maakes me feel a whole lot better knowing that I wont have to make anymore trips to Boulder and watch all of those Hippies throw things around the stadium. I'm actually pumped for a new rivalry wether its PSU, Iowa, OSU.

    welcome

Thanks! And welcome to the board! I have always had great respect for Penn State, and cant wait to play in Happy Valley once again!
  15. I guess I missed that part - most of this board revolved around his size...little was said about his desire to play basketball. Did Bubba Starling not being 100% football keep him from getting an offer? At least we knew with Sterup that if he chose, he wouldn't be playing both. If he chose basketball he wouldn't be using up a scholarship. Don't see how the two really correlate since we already had 4 OL in the class. Not like we were hard up. Agree about Bubba, but with only 4 OL we might actually take 2 more IF they are the ones we want, for sure one more wether it is Sterup or not.

    Rodney Coe

Which is probably why we recruited him as a saftey if I remember right.
  17. I have been telling myself since this whole reallignment thing started that we could hang with the big boys of the big 10 (OSU, Penn State, Wisc) but something makes me feel as though Nebraska might struggle in this new conference. What do you guys think? Will we do great? Will struggle for a little bit? Maybe I need a tall, cool glass of kool-aid.
  18. Those two weeks really showed how inept our offense truly was (besides the texas/ou game). Texas Tech has had our number since 2004, but Iowa State has never had our number and never will. When your offense turns the ball over 8 times, I think 4 or 5 inside the red zone of course your goin to have a tough go about things. But then you watch the games the very next month and you see why Pelini is the coach for us. He picked this team up, got them motivated to finish out strong and make a statement on national television.
  19. Would somebody please get this gentleman some kool-aid!
  20. Wont be surprised if Jalen does decide to move on, but we will be in a dog fight with UCLA for another one unfortunatly I suspect.
  21. Good point , I also suspect having an offense that runs the ball, having one of the best oline classes in the country right now, and using a fullback (Aaron has said he loves that) will keep him interested in Nebraska for awhile.
  22. TM still lacked offers from Alabama, Auburn, Texas, USC, LSU, etc. Really if you take away Florida & Ohio State - he is missing most of the big names that we all assume gets you that 5th star. I'll attribute it to early the early committement, but based on just his offer list he's no Tony Steward (6.1 5*) - so I'd say there is nothign wrong w/ using that logic. And whos to say he wouldnt have gotten those offers if tyler would have drawin out his recruitment longer such as Christian Westerman. I guarantee that Alabama, Auburn, and LSU wouldve offered him. I mean the kid was in their backyard, with a florida offer in hand. And I remeber awhile ago that USC contacted Tyler and Ryne to see if they would be interested, but of course they are NOT.
  23. The last time Jeremy Crabtree was on Unsportsmanlike Conduct he said that Dylan and Bubba Starling have a pretty good relationship.
