  1. Looking at getting a new a/c and furnace. Since I'd already be looking at spending the money on that, I'm considering a geothermal heat pump. Anyone have any experience with these?

      I'm thinking it would have to go in the back yard due to underground utilities in the front and side. Back yard is about 1500sq ft. and the soil is mostly clay.

      If you can take the up front cost (prob close to double of standard replacement) I would say go for it. Fairly quick payback and should qualify for rebates..plus add equity value to the property.

      As in go for it if the survey comes back that you can get one in (either vertical or horizontal piping)
