  1. I agree with you, but there is too much smoke to ignore the power play stuff. I have been saying for two years that he will not get 7 years or even 5 if he can't have a decent season or two amidst it. But I have to imagine that with the timing, the not getting along, the OU debacle, etc, that there is something going on. It's too abrupt, and no sign points to a NCAA investigation or anything like that, which is typically the go to reason for guys leaving like that. Idk.
  2. And I don't forget about Moos throwing down the 8-9 win statement. Did he set an expectation that he knew Scott would struggle to reach? Man, there are a lot of questions.
  3. I didn't think so either, but I don't think he viewed his legacy being in question because of Scott, and if its true that they didn't get along for years, then I can see him firing him, and hiring the next "can't miss coach" and then sealing his legacy that way. He had a lot of time left.
  4. I am going to assume the notion that this was a power move by Scott. If the relationship was sour, then Moos might have fired Scott next year if they didn't make a bowl or win enough, which I think was way more possible than many believe. I think Scott, Matt, and other higher ups are ensuring Scott's time here, and have already been contacting an AD to come and take this role. He will get paid a lot of money, and be loyal to Scott. It's genius.
  5. Okay but then what happened? Moos hired the guy. Frost wasn't expected to win a natty the first two years. So I doubt Moos is going crazy or rubbing Scott the wrong way, especially if Moos is as hands off as they say.
  6. I think there might be some truth to them not wanting to miss out on the replacement, and it just working out the way it did with the tension. Because the abruptness of it tells me they have their guy.
  7. For many, myself included, I don't think it was that well known. And I am assuming it wasn't like that in the first few years, so then it begs the question of what happened before the OU fiasco?
  8. He is truthfully the prototype LB that Wisconsin seems to churn out every year to the pros. Great length and really good speed. I love it when Nebraska gets good players from Lincoln.
  9. Fair enough, we will see how this shakes out. Luckily none of these players will be needed right away.
  10. Keep him at guard, and he will be fine. He's probaly 6ft 4 1/2 in and not 6ft 6in. He has the tools, and just needs two years in S&C to bring them out. Also, I would say his best attribute is his feet. He's an absolute take for me, and a much better prospect than Frietzche, Yaeger (who is gone), Anderson, Lynn, etc.
  11. I think about this a lot. I think Ryan Held has one big problem in terms of being a coach. I think he needs to find a balance between developing the guys he has in his room, and not always looking to replace or recruit the next big star. He has a personality that tells me he is quick to move on to the next thing. The Divine situation resembling that to some extent. I am afraid that Marvin Scott is being overlooked, and he will end up proving to everyone that he's more than capable and durable. And if this doesn't happen, then the ace recruiter label needs to be reevaluated.
  12. I am an eternal optimist in recruiting so I naturally disagree, but the good thing is this class has no bearing on what this program becomes or does this year, or the next. What I do like about this class so far is that all these players have high ceilings, underdeveloped bodies, and chips on their shoulders. Hear me out but the best part about this class is that they get one important luxury that no class under Scott has gotten so far, and thats the ability to develop at their own rate. We can redshirt most, if not all of them, and allow each one to get bigger, stronger, and faster before they have to play a down. And if that happens, these kids are plenty good to make some noise when their time is ready.
  13. Avery has a rangy body for being 5ft 11in, and his arms are of good length as well. With limited tape, the thing that stands out to me is his willingness to hit. He moves quick and strikes. If he gets to the 205-210 range he could be a hit stick. If he were to commit, I would argue for him being the best of the bunch so far.
  14. Grant is a very impressive looking athlete, and has a lot of room for physical development.
  15. Which is a good thing. The players get too comfortable here, and processing needs to ramp up.
  16. Arguably the biggest piece of info this offseason.
  17. I would rather have him too, but that seems like a ridiculous time frame. Sounds to me that he's stalling for big offers.
  18. Yeah, I give up. Whatever is going to happen, happens. I hope he proves me wrong.
  19. True but since he is only looking to play one more year, I think we won the trade off of getting Toure. It is just a better fit and he's a much better WR. I would only miss him if he was committed to playing running back which I think is his best position.
  20. I cannot agree more. He is an elite complimentary player.
  21. Yeah I think Nebraska won in terms of offseason transfers. They received a better WR, and gained a highly thought of RB. They essentially replaced Wandale on multiple levels.
