  1. We really need guys around him to step up and make the drives easier for him. From here on out it is important that our Running backs demonstrate good vision to break some runs or keep drives going, and we do not have to rely on Adrian's running. His legs would be lethal if it were a luxury. Receivers need to get open and come down with 50/50 balls. He is pretty accurate when he can throw to a decent sized receiver. I think the O-line is good. Nebraska was hurt by Dedrick Mills having bad vision and no cutting ability, and Wandale's reluctancy to play his natural position. Adrian is going to surprise some people, and have a huge bounce back year. Frost has been saying for the last two years that we need to help Adrian out, and that we cannot keep scheming to get guys open. He is absolutely correct. I think Toure is going to be a huge boost for this offense, and Nebraska won the "trade" in terms of Wandale. With guys like Omar, Zavier, Oliver, Austin, and Toure, defenses really can't cheat. If I am a DB, I cannot just ignore those players and think they can't burn me. They will. Lastly, Nebraska schemes pretty damn well and when you have good players, you can scheme a team to death. Nebraska did this to tOSU in 2018, and probably would have won the game had JD not alligator armed a perfectly thrown ball. All I am saying is do not be surprised.
  2. I agree with your post and he really just needs guys who can make the game easier for him, whether that is Rb's who can be consistent, and WR's to go up and get theirs. We point to 2018 and the difference is the proven skill talent. He has better players overall now, but they have to step up.
  3. I would argue that not having adequate speed makes everything else useless. I would hate to see him have to tackle a shifty RB in the hole.
  4. I understand what you're saying but I don't see much value in recruiting anyone who can't play all three downs on defense. Why make play calling more difficult when all the offense has to do is run shallow crosses on first down to exploit the guy. If he was explosive in a straight line I would possibly take him. It is obvious that Michigan cut ties with him because he just isn't good enough. We need to start doing away with guys like this. There is a better player with more upside down the road in Kansas, and there's a better player in North Platte also.
  5. I see a large kid playing football. That's kind of it. Give me Meyers all day.
  6. Who was the ticket service we used to have on here?

    1. Mavric

      Mavric

      Ticket Hippo

  7. But imagine how you would feel if that Defense got a full spring and a normal year to showcase themselves?
  8. I want to add to this. You're exactly right and for this defense to thrive the way Chins wants it, they need the opportunity to take chances. It's hard to do that when your offense sucks.
  9. And that was because of everyone's preconceived notions going into the regime. Game by game, year by year, the D was steadily improving, and kept Nebraska close in a handful of games. Anyone who was attempting to be objective saw by the end of 2018 that this was a Frost issue.
  10. Chins was much more prepared than Scott when they came to Nebraska. He remembers the style of play and size difference. It's no surprise that the Defense is on the verge of a breakout. If they do, get the checkbook out. He will be a hot commodity D coordinator because he is also an elite recruiter.
  11. How is this for hype? Not only is he easily a 4.4 guy. After a few months of speed training for the NFL, he will run a 4.37. He's in the top 3-5 in pure speed on the team.
  12. I thought he looked really good. Physically he is where he needs to be. Scott said he looks like a 4.4 guy out there. He was right. 4.4 easy. His throws downfield were pretty damn good, and it is nice to see him be able to throw in there without having to aim it like he had to with smaller receivers in the past. The thing that I liked the most was seeing him look comfortable which I don't think I saw since his freshman year. He looked in command and I think that is the difference. Okay but back to his speed. I'd bet three big time, "Taylor Martinez esque" runs from him this year. He looks like a burner.
  13. As he should be. If Nebraska were to get he and Meyers, they would be the cornerstone of this class.
  14. It's a valid concern. You watch his tape as a WR and there isn't much twitch or explosion.
  15. And I can understand why.
  16. I think this is easy to say because of hindsight. Of course I would rather take the proven players. From an ability standpoint, Omar, Betts, Toure, Alante, Martin, Nixon, Grimes, Neville, and Hardy as a collective, surpass the ability of those you listed by a wide margin. Talent doesn't equal productivity but these guys are the best collection of raw talent this program has ever had at that position.
  17. Could be a really good offensive weapon but has the potential to be an elite linebacker. I say but him on D.
  18. When I see all this talent at WR, I just can't help but think how much this is going to help Austin, Travis, and Thomas. TE's are going to earn some money this year.
  19. Explosive, and the kind of 220lbs you want to see. He has room to grow still and he moves so well. This is a 4 star middle linebacker.
  20. He's too big and has bad feet. It's strange to see a kid and say he's too ready made physically but he is. There is no explosion in his hips and looks like a big kid in a weak league.
