  1. This is like football fans grumbling about the ratings on FS2 by comparing them to the ABC night game. I don't even get TBS.
  2. I'm guessing the ACC is on top of the Worst-Ever-Performances low-archy. 4-7 in your worst year isn't that bad. My knowledge of the Mississippi River head water is scant. Is Michigan really West of the Mississippi?
  3. The laws were made from a time when buying votes was somewhat normal. Back When Everyone Knew How You Voted | The National Endowment for the Humanities (neh.gov) The practice of offering a dollar or two, a congratulatory tipple, or other goods—sometimes referred to as “soap”—for the trouble of voting was so common as to be considered socially acceptable. “In some instances,” Peter Argersinger, a historian of American populism, has written, “political leaders even agreed across party lines to standardize bribery practices and prices.”
  4. Probably the anonymous "they" who had their votes suppressed. In my state the rule is no approaching people within 50 feet of the door to the polling place. Beyond that I was constantly being approached with water, chips, beads, and 'information.' I was in line for 45 minutes with only the last 10 being in the quiet zone, but that was my choice. Anyone can go to any poll in the county or vote early.
  5. GCU was a local puff piece, it would have been cool if they had the magic that went to Oral Roberts. I did not know GCU dates back to 1949. No one had really heard of them until they were a for-profit college in 2008. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Canyon_University#History
  6. Southern Cal came out of nowhere too.
  7. My neighbor went to Creighton. He doesn't seem to own a tv set.
  8. they are calling it something other than a retraction. If they are really the same thing then why did the Bezos-owned WaPo have to lie about it? Neither is criminal, the first report just looks worse. The distinction between before&after is the grammar. The fake story is in the imperative form, a command even though POTUS does not have power over state officials. The real quote is a hypothetical opinion.
  9. If racism is so "systemic" in America then why do the preachers need such a vague term to find it?
  10. KU seems like a good fit for Mike Leach. I don't know what he is doing in the SEC.
  11. Trump was a lifelong Democrat for reasons plainly explained in the debates. While every other politician would have told you about their religious conversion following a discussion with their toddler, Trump simply told everyone I'm a business man who played the game. Trump was a liberal? What liberal thing did he do besides write checks to politicians instead of the IRS?
  12. Obama took over in the valley of a recession that Bush had been stabilized. Obama took it to a glass ceiling which Trump smashed through. BTW none of those are policy positions unless you think a politician wants a higher level of unemployment.
  13. At this point I would take one cherry picked 'promise' that Trump said off the cuff in 2015.
  14. No. Trump was the only president in my lifetime to stick with his campaign promises. I was quite surprised when Trump actually adopted an America First policy and avoided foreign wars while trying to get out of the ones we are in. You can find those promises in the speeches from the other guys but only Trump acted accordingly.
  15. what racial undertones you ask? This is very offensive to the SPLC and a lot of liberals. Dr Seuss wrote a story saying the screetches should be judged by their character instead of their appearance. https://www.nationalreview.com/2021/03/against-canceling-dr-seuss/ No they are likely pretty smart. People this evil should not be running a lemonade stand.
  16. The Colin Kap who refused a 1 year contract so he could launch his career in social justice or the Corporation that had to make exactly zero changes? I challenged people to find a conservative corollary to liberal censorship this week and no one did. The British newspaper The Sun and multiple media outlets are all propaganda?
  17. It's Intolerance on full display by the liberals. Denying it is the equivalent of saying there was no anti-semitism in World War 2. Speaking of which, Dr Seuss banned from Ebay, Mein Kampf and Che Guerrtshirtguy still okay.
  18. You didn't want to play so I will take your turn. A total of 1 liberal has been cancelled recently. She alleges that it was over mean tweets. Ironically she does not believe in cancel culture. Dr. Lora Burnett on Twitter: "While you're here... No, this isn't "cancel culture"; there's no such thing. This is *government* retaliation for free speech, which is illegal and actionable. wrote about it here: https://t.co/oSN54gJTXw" / Twitter
  19. Media everywhere do exactly that and get praised for it. And as BRB said, it's fine to portray the American stereotype. I doubt it. Cancel culture is driven by a largely white upper class. Often they have to work hard to find a non-white person who will say he's offended.
  20. MY Way Too Early Take is De Santis if we need a caretaker President for business as usual. Trumps (any of them) if we need political atrial fibrillation.
  21. I just treat this thread as the universal suppression of speech containment zone whether it's called censorship, cancel culture, fake news, big tech, intolerance etc. This has been happening for a long time. Laura Inghalls Wilder was dishonored because of one sentence misworded. A division of the American Library Association voted unanimously Saturday to strip Laura Ingalls Wilder's name from a major children's literature award over concerns about how the author referred to Native Americans and blacks.
  22. Agree: Gov Cuomo is much preferable as a political punching bag for those who are giving Biden-Harris a brief honeymoon.
  23. I wouldn't worry too much. It is hard if not impossible to find [much] 21st Century suppression of left wing speech because the Left controls the morality in Western countries and decides what is and isn't true or hateful. Not so in other countries. I will now pause to field some cherry-picked obscure incidents of left wing censorship.
