  1. Remember we pulled a DT from Ohio last year and have a couple of those Mooney kids. I'm guessing we start seeing more and more from Ohio going forward, now that mom & dad can watch the games.
  2. The one thing I'll say about Iowa ... They were the cornhuskers back when we were the bugeaters. They switched and we took their nickname. Good thing too, cuz they couldn't live up to the name/tradition nowadays
  3. I was hoping TPJ was going to be in attendance and bring Andrus with. Hoping Todd will still be there. I can't imagine the adrenaline rush of watching the spring game, knowing you're going to be a part of it in just a couple months.
  4. I know it's early and many of these guys will be off the list soon, but we're in on a lot of talent.
  5. I live in Cedar Rapids, "The Crapids," just north of Iowa City. Hawk-Central around here. Be nice to shut em up. I've always lived in Big Ten Country and have never been able to show people why we're better. Beef O'Brady's in Cedar Rapids has watch parties every game. Great atmosphere.
  6. New Bubba article. It says he's currently leaning toward college, but his dad did lose his job and is unemployed. He wants to play for the Royals ... who have the 5th pick. This should be very interesting. Good luck with the huge decision! Article here
  7. thanks. Great to see him in the first crop!
  8. Only two LBs listed. Michael and Kwon. Does this mean ESPN/Under Armor views them as the top two?? Am I missing something here? Does this not include Army AAs?
  9. DGB was just at Ole Miss with two of his teammates yesterday. Making rounds through the south. Hopefully they've got a Nebraska tour ahead ... with stops at Dana, UNO and UNL. May the best team of the three win.
  10. Kwon Alexander. LB. I'm thinking he's the biggest pipedream of the bunch. I say we get Shoff and peat. I 2nd this post. Kwon is a beast, but look for the cobra Saban to have his fangs deep into this one. As for the Florida kids, it is great that the inroads with high schools and coaches there, but waiting for more of those kids to pull the trigger. Winning will take care of that though me thinks Come on guys, I can dream can't I? Bin Laden's on the Most Wanted list. Just cuz we can't catch him, don't mean we don't want him. Keep him on the list!
  11. says we're recruiting him the hardest. We've really needed a great TE recruit for a number of years. Thankfully the staff has been able to develop some guys like Reed and McNeill that weren't super-hyped recruits.
  12. Kwon Alexander. LB. I'm thinking he's the biggest pipedream of the bunch. I say we get Shoff and peat.
  13. Scout has a better overall site with better navigation. Too bad you're navigating to $hitty information.
  14. I noticed the same thing when reading through all of the 2012 guys. Maybe its just how info is coming in, but seems like we're hitting hard. Like it.
  15. I think you're probably right... Of course, that means we're going to have to pry it away from one of the greatest rivalries college football has ever seen... The REAL Farmageddon Rivalry Nice find Hercules! That actually makes a lot of sense considering they're both AG schools...I am shocked I hadn't heard it on ESPN though. Never heard of it because nobody cares.
  16. I've been reading a bunch of articles today about Beck and how he'll be doing a multitude of things differently than Wats. Shouldn't he have brought up a bunch of these ideas in the past? Did he and Wats crushed them? Was Beck keeping ideas on how to better run things to himself because he didn't want to step on Wats'toes or wanted Wats gone?
  17. I think it'll be USC lite. Loss of some schollies and maybe a bowl ban. I can't see the NCAA vacating the season since they let those five guys play in the bowl game anyways (still can't figure that one out). They must not have thought what they did was really that bad. I know this is different, but I'd think the university will punish him more than the NCAA.
  18. I can't see the staff putting that weight on Martin last year just for him to finish the year learning a new position, then move him back to LB. They wouldn't have done that, knowing full-well what lies ahead in the B1G
  19. I'd love to have more Thursday night games. While having the option of games on BTN, It's great to get the national exposure that the BTN doesn't provide for recruits that don't have the network. As far as the Iowa game ... I live 20 minutes from Iowa City, so I'm there regardless of day. Friday would be better for same reasons stated above. One game on at the time. No competition.
  20. I really wish there was room for him, but best of luck. Won't ever have to play him.
  21. It looks like we were recruiting him and offered out of high school: http://nebraska.scout.com/a.z?s=204&p=8&c=1&nid=3426139 Of course he's listed below Bodtman...
  22. I noticed that too. It just seems that in the past if they didn't have five stars USC didn't go after them. Now, guys like Turene, that are 3 stars that we offer, they go for. I can't think of others by name, but I remember in reading all of the individual pages over the last recruiting cycle that some lower-ranked guys we were in on were getting looks from USC. I remember when we played them a few years back the commentator said something about how X number of USC players had Nebraska offers (it was a high number) and zero Nebraska players had USC offers. If that thinking holds true, sure they'll just cherry-pick our guys. I think that'll keep changing now though as I really believe we're getting better at recruiting and the right guys are buying in.
  23. With TCU in the Big East, they could care less about with Boise. There isn't be a rivalry there. Gotta be someone in Texas. Can't see it being a Big East team. Cowherd didn't say top 55 programs. 10-12.
  24. I really like Cowherd, but he has been outted multiple times by the "ESPN Ombudsman" for jumping to conclusions without having the facts, then later being proven wrong. I get it. It's his shtick, to rile people up. If I remember right it was when Sean Taylor, the former Miami player had those kids break into his house a few years back. Cowherd basically went on to say the Taylor must have been involved in drugs, etc. Then it was later proven to just be some idiot kids randomly robbing the place and killing him. I highly doubt Texas. They lock those kids up early and don't really ever need to 'recruit' like everyone else. Home-grown kids want to go there.
