  1. Wow, They sure are drinking the Orange kool aid in Texas. There is no way any team from the other major conferences would ever join the Big 12 the way it works now. Why would any team join the Big 12 when the rules and revenue sharing all favors Texas. The only way the Big 12 lures any other major conference teams is if they change revenue sharing, but that will never happen, just ask the Pac 10.
  2. Thanks for the Welcome guys! Can't wait for OSU-Neb game and all the other great match ups. Nice to be in a conference where everyone gets a fair stake. Now was Bo a big time player at OSU and did you ever think he would wind up a head coach?
  3. Gotta see where all the chips (schools) land first.
  4. How cool would it be if the Nebraska Iowa game is on the Friday after Thanksgiven. Now that would be awsome!!
  5. Lol I would love to see Texas playing in the Big 10 in November!! They had better buy some coats and long underwear.
  6. With the demise of the Big 12 whats going too happen with bowl tie in's. Does this spell the end of the BCS?
  7. WHEN HAS AN INCOMPLETE PASS OUT OF BOUNDS EVER BEEN REVIEWED TO SEE HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD BE PUT ON THE CLOCK? It was a non-reviewable play but they did it for Texas since they (ran) the conference. They (were) the CEO/Chairman of the old big twelve!!!!! Never, only when it is Texas and they are not going to the BCS National Championship Game. Tom Osborne brought up this point at the Big 12 meeting in KC. Quote was something like, (I guess we need some new guidelines/rules on how we put time back on the clock for incomplete passes) I will look it up and edit this. I think the last straw was/were a couple things. All championship games to be in the state of Texas and not rotating them. All teams voting consistently with Texas and against NU. I think 11-1 was the common number on most votes involving Big 12 issues. How many people remember the 93 Orange Bowl against Florida State. It was 4th and long with a few secs left to play. Tommie Fraizer completes a pass to give the Huskers a 1st down and get in field goal range, but time had expired. The refs review the play and determine that 3 sec should be added on the clock. We kick a long field goal but we missed it. We lost the game 16 to 18, if we would of made that we would of won 3 mnc three years in a row and 4 of 5 years. The point is our Huskers got 3 sec added after the clock had expired and I heard no bitching about it. So please lets give this a rest. The reason were going to the Big 10 it is what is best for Nebraska. Even if we had beat Texas last year we are still gone.
  8. Why is it that every other sport in the world with some meaning has a playoff. Only Div 1 college football doesn't. The problem with the way it stands now many Div 1 schools can have a great season and have no chance for a national championship because they are not the media darlings. Don't get me wrong I love my ESPN, but how many times have the talking heads been wrong, nobody can tell who the best team is just by talking about them. Why yes upsets do happen and lesser team knocks off a better team that happens in the regular season as well in the playoffs. If in 1982 Nebraska doesn't lose to Penn State we are the champs, and if we played that game 10 times Nebraska prob wins 8 of them. So yes upsets are a part of life, even in the regular season. At least with a playoff it is settled in the field not at some writers desk. What right do we have to tell a kid from Utah that you can't be a national champ because your school is not important to the sports casters. Imagine if the other sports did like division 1 football. There would be no miracle on Ice in 1980 because clearly the USA hockey team had no business playing the ultra powerful Soviet Team, or how about Jimmy's V North Carolina State BB Ball team that won it all. The way Div 1 stands now is robbing many kids dreams.
  9. This whole situation boils down money. The biggest reason by far the Big 12 is about too fall is apart is the all mighty dollar. The Big 10 and the Pac 10 are waving around the prospect of making huge amounts of cash. The only way for the Big 12 too survive is too find a viable system that would work. If Texas and all others would drop their demand for their own privet network and support the Big 12 network and have equal revenue sharing, I think there would be a 90% chance the Big 12 would stay together, and I think that would be in Nebraska's best interest. Why leave for the Big 10 if we can make about as much money in the Big 12. Nebraska has turned the corner under BO and I believe we would play in most Big 12 championship games under his coaching. Why would we ever want to give up a sure thing such as that. Sure we could compete well in the Big 10, but with an expanded conference our road is much harder. Ask yourself which path would get Nebraska getting too a BCS game or even the MNC game, the Big 12 north, or Big 10 west. I don't think the it's even close, the easiest road is the Big 12 north. Lets not cut off our nose to save our face. Don't let our emotions get in the way of whats best for Nebraska.
  10. Just saw on espn that mwc is likely to add Boise State, if the Huskers were too join too I think the conference would have a lot of pull.

    Enough!

The Husker's joining the big 10 make's sense only by the more money we would get, and that may not be that much more if the Big 12 gets a simular deal that the SEC has for TV. Sure Texas getting some bonuses for being the big dog, but nothing we can't handle on the football field. The Huskers are back with Bo at the helm, and which scenario would favor the Huskers getting to a BCS game. I think with Bo we would play in the Big 12 championship game almost every year. We win that one were looking at a BCS bowl if not the MNC game. I don't see us loosing many games in the Northern division, but if we go to the Big 10 the road gets much tougher. The top of the Big 10 is pretty simular to the top of the Big 12, but the bottom of the Big 10 seems to me much tougher than the bottom feeders of the Big 12. Not that we couldn't win the Big 10, I just think it would be much harder than in our current position in the Big 12. I would love nothing more beating Texas or Ou in the Big 12 Championship game. Lets stay in the Big 12 and dish out a little ass whooping.
  12. Very interesting read http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news;_ylt=AtQbqAVWsA7nq0f6.9z_E.05nYcB?slug=dw-expansion060610 . I would love to see a 16 team playoff and the big 12 stay together, this would solve most of the problems. We should push for this.
