  1. i agree it would have been sweet to see 3 former huskers all on the same defense. but fairley will take some of the presure off of suh and he will be even more dominate next year! that pick will have all the opposing qbs crying and cuddling with their body pillows in fear next season!
  2. as much as i want to agree with you, i dont. and thats just because teams dont look to pick up kickers early in the draft like they do other postions, alot of teams expect to pick the in the 7th rounder or as a even priority free agent. but if he does go earlier than the 6th round the team that takes him will not be getting hurt by any means because as we all know he is a very soid reliable kicker
  3. I like the all-white Clemson uni's: Florida State is coming out with all-white uni's too: idk maybe its just me but i dont like florida states all white helmets. it just doesnt look good to me
  4. Yep. He's a good DB, but he's crazy. how so? i am not aware of anything crazy he has done, but i never had followed him or ku much for that matter
  5. when i first read this, my brain read it as "got rid of the pants, and shoulder stripes". a pantless game wouldnt be all that awesome. lol talk about groundbreaking uniforms please dont give nike any ideas!
  6. be prepared it gonna be loud. thats a pretty sweet qoute really
  7. because they have done well recruiting and espn also as a hard on for nick saban
  8. isnt that the same talib that played for ku?
  9. Here you go. lol well played sir! the only time that uniform has ever looked good is when it was fly ing ten yards in the air after suh threw it!
  10. if he wins a couple of big 10 championships and a MNC then you dont have to worry about him leaving cuz the school will do whatever it takes to keep him here. imo
  11. i would also like to see them bring back the cream color in the helmets, i am to young to have ever got to see the helmets any color but white and i think the cream color would look cool but im probably alone on that idk
  12. lets be honest, we as husker fans tend to down play alot of things and blow things out of the water too. someone who isnt a husker fan would say we had a couple damn good wins last year, and also we sucked it up sometimes too, but overall we were a pretty good team
  13. Apparently someone thought that was a way to slander me or something. I thought it was so absurd I wore a pineapple as an avatar for a while. is see, and yes that is an odd insult to say the least
  14. i feel the same way, all that matters in the end is that we win.
  15. I loved the all-whites as well, but I liked them more for the red/white trim gear and the long socks, if they would get rid of the black shoes and socks with the current unis i would love them. i agree they are awesome, and who knows we might do some kinda of alternate thing against wisconsin but i wouldnt count on it
  16. Here's the article: http://huskerextra.com/sports/football/article_77545316-c05b-11df-a67c-001cc4c03286.html Sounds like the "little things like that" are left up to the Unity Council. Quote: "In the end, Terry just puts out what he's told to put out. Many decisions, like the color of socks, come from the Unity Council." And yes, little differences like that do matter, because our uniform is still classic, nothing outlandish, and yet it is different from the rest. You are correct, everyone else does the same thing. For Michigan games, when it gets cold enough, they wear the tall navy blue socks. It looks great on them too. I hope someday we return to the style I mentioned. Yes, I am a uniform nerd. i am too! being an uniform nerd i am sure you have checked out the uni watch thing that paul lukas does on espn.com. if you havent you should, its kinda cool to see all the different little things teams do to their unis.
  17. I absolutely fell in love with that look, especially the high red socks. I remember reading an interview with the equipment manager, he said he tried to bring back the red socks during Bo's first year, but the players were quickly to dismiss that idea. So unless somebody can convince the players about the red socks, it will be mid high black socks forever, not saying its bad, its just that EVERYBODY is doing it. thats why our players want to do it, because its the style right now. i agree with you the solid pants with tall socks looks really slick but its not "in" right now. but look on the bright side, at least we havent completely sold out and we still look fairly traditional. i would hate to think what we would look lke if we wore nike unis and nike did some crazy pattern like they have with oregon. it just wouldnt fit NU
  18. I was just pointing that this game should be a gimme if this team comes out ready to play. I said Martinez could have good game because Fresno is not very good on defense, let alone on the other side of the ball. It doesnt matter what I post on here it will get debated to the bitter end, that much is true. i will agree with you that if NU comes to play they should smoke them, BUT it seems like NU tends to play down to their opponents sometimes and fresno isnt one of those teams you wanna play down to cuz they are capable of beating you if you do. like you said earlier pat hill is a great coach and he will have his team ready to take advantage of every chance we give them to make it a game
  19. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Because Taylor gave some bad answers to some interview questions at 19 years old he's got a low IQ? Come on, man. That's not even remotely fair. And what if he is dumb as a post? Do we really care? Vince Young couldn't string three sentences together at Texas and he (should have) won a Heisman and he DID win a MNC. Flashy stats, awards, flashy replays.... these are now bad things? And to answer you honestly, I have no idea how much he's developing. The ONLY thing I'm saying is, let's not throw him under the bus. I said the same thing about pretty much every Husker player whom the fans were unhappy with over the past, say, 30 years, so I'm just being consistent. I don't care if Carnes or Martinez starts. I'm just poking holes in the "problems" that Taylor has (but doesn't) and in the "awesomeness" that Brion has (but hasn't proven). And I agree that it's a stupid argument, although I'm not really "arguing" with anyone, just talking football. It's a reeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaally long off season. Got anything better/else to talk about? I'd love to change the subject. yea, so ummmmmmmm....... why do people call you the pine apple? jw
  20. I agree. LSU is the one team that sticks out in my mind that wears those ultra-tight jerseys. They're stupid looking, at least to me. Doesn't Texas A&M have those ultra-tight jerseys too? yea, but idk i never have been much of a fan of aTms jerseys
  21. i really dont have a problem with the tight jerseys, we got new jerseys when i played at pitt state and they were awesome. plus i think its harder to grab ahold of them to tackle someone, so thats an advantage to them. jmo
  22. I really, really, really hope he comes out with that blazing speed against TennChatt. If he doesn't that means he isn't healed and won't be healed all season. That means Carnes, most likely, and while I liked what I saw in the scrimmage, I don't want back-to-back years of Redshirt Freshman growing pains. This will be a miserable season if Martinez isn't ready to go come August. if he isnt healthy by then dont count fresno as an easy win, i know they arent the greatest team in the world, but they always seem to play teams close that they shouldnt Huskerscott seems to think they're a typical SunBelt team. I think they're wayyyy better than that. Fresno State is no gimme whatsoever with their recent history of being road warriors. They walked into USC a couple of years ago when the Trojans were almost unbeatable and had a wild slobberknocker that they almost won. Hill is a damn fine coach too. We better have our "A" game ready to roll. How good is Fresno State???? In 2010 they were 60th in total defense, 83rd in points given up. Finished around 70th in total offense, and 48th in scoring offense. They got crushed by Boise State 51-0. Remember Idaho, Fresno barely squeaked by them 23-20. I know they had a good RB, cant think of his name, but I believe he is gone. This not the same Fresno team that almost beat USC like 7 years ago. Pat Hill is great coach, they go to bowls every year, but lately they have been about an 8 win team every year in the WAC. Im trying to figure out why all sudden people think Fresno is good. Is it because I thought Martinez would have good game against them. I cant win either way. I guessing beating mid-level WAC teams arent gimmes anymore. all i am saying, is fresno is one of those teams who seem to play well against teams alot better than them. i think it could be another sdsu kinda game like what we had last year when we should have killed them instead we had our hands full
  23. Honestly, it's not easy to do both of those things at the same time. You're not going to fix your footwork on a bum ankle, and it's going to take longer to heal if you're running around on it. Everyone keeps slamming Martinez for this, but it's coach Bo who should be getting criticized. And a month isn't long enough to work either of those things out, even if you're doing just one at a time. Period. He's only human ffs. Good and reasonable points. When I say that TMart has not progressed, it was not an indictment --- as if somehow he is remiss in not getting better --- his real-world context for improving is less than ideal --- as you rightly point out. When I say that he has not progressed, it is, however, a statement of fact (well.. opinion based upon observation). That is, why he has not progressed is not so much the point... that he has not progressed is the point. The question then is... does his lack of progression to this point mean he will still have not progressed by the time the season starts? I can't say... I hope he does. until tmart is fully healed he wont progress much passing the football. its hard to get better when you cant drive your foot in ground like your supposed too. and if he tries to change his throwing habits without being able to work on his footwork then he his going to develop even worse habits then he already has now. it would be counter productive. give the kid a break. i gurantee that he is working his a** off trying to get better and healthy at the same time. all we can really do is hope that he gets better and succeeds, and if he doesnt then that someone else will step in and get the job done, and that tmart will then get moved to wr or somewhere else on the field and he succeeds there.
  24. i don't think we'd try to outbid OSU. the point is that we/TO/NU think he's a great coach, so we do what we can to make him happy in his current position. we do that by offering him a fair salary along with any other support that contributes to this being a great job. if you wait until some other school forces your hand, you operate from a position of weakness and you create less good will. kudos to TO for recognizing what we have in bo and doing what he can to make him an NU lifer. obviously there's room for disagreement on whether TO is correct in his assessment that bo is the right guy. i think the way he resuscitated a beaten down program, the way he inspires these kids and the way that he runs a clean program combine for sufficient proof, but i don't think anyone will totally be happy until we start seeing some trophies. we're now paying him like someone that should be competing for league titles and BCS games and that is certainly the expectation for success at this point. i don't think we'll see another significant bump for bo until he delivers, and at that point i won't have a problem with making him one of the best paid coaches in the nation. we're long past the days where TO would work for relative peanuts. time to get used to paying coaches what they're worth. the thing is the last two years we did compete for league titles and came up just short, we should have won in 09, what bo has done in such a short time is pretty great. yea i know he hasnt won a conference championship yet but he has gotten damn close, and he has gotten the huskers back on the map as far as being a top team that people talk about every year. thats just my opinion
  25. I really, really, really hope he comes out with that blazing speed against TennChatt. If he doesn't that means he isn't healed and won't be healed all season.
