  1. Don't forget the typical MU Tigerboard response: MU: "I hate them thar @##$$% Nubs. They kin all &&&^^%$$ my cusin. Twice (I does!). Wait, we talkin' 'bout them refs or Nubs?"
  2. Since the only alternative is a oujii board, I'll use statistics...
  3. I'm saying, based on the statistics, the jump in penalties and yards against NU in the Texas and A&M games by the same officiating crew wasn't due to random chance as many apologists have proposed. I can't prove the official's motivation for their statistically significant increase in penalties. Statistical analysis doesn't allow you to read minds. The "fix was in" comment is The HUSKERCR Personal Opinion based on the data. You can get back to your Personal Crusade to defend Wats now zoogies...
  4. 1. Don't know. 2. I didn't include the Iowa State game because I didn't know the same crew was there. It wouldn't affect the results much since it was one game out of 9 averaged. 3. I would do the crew analysis if someone can dig up which crews worked which games. If I could find a listing of specific penalties/game I would also do the probability on the holding calls.
  5. "Unless you can name better alternatives to each position you would like to fire, and give a breakdown explaining how they would do better, then the fire them all pettiness should stop". Who died and made you Pope?
  6. Personally, based on this, I'd like to give those homer refs a t-test with a nutcracker....
  7. The P-values are given. Want the F-values as well?
  8. I finally had some time (without my boss noticing) to do a little number crunching on our favorite topic, Big 12 referees during NU games. Here's what I found: Ave. Number of NU Penalties/Game, Ave. Number of NU Penalty Yds/Game All Games but Texas and A&M 7, 62.1 Ave. Number of NU Penalties/Game, Ave. Number of NU Penalty Yds/Game Texas and A&M 13, 119.5 Note both the Texas and A&M games were officiated by the same Big 12 crew. Based on a One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), the chances of this variation being due to random chance is .34% (1 in 300) for number of penalties, 1.9% (1 in 50) for total yards. In other, non-technical terms: THE FIX WAS IN!!!!!!! Opponent number of penalties is also lower with this crew by 37%, total opponent penalty yards 21% lower. This "homer" Big 12 officiating crew doubles the number of NU penalties and penalty yardage while calling significantly fewer penalties and fewer penalty yards on our opponents. I found it interesting.
  9. Every year the apologists have another excuse why Watson and Gilmore are not to blame for the listless offense: 1. It's his first year, give him time. 2. He needs more time to train his players into his System. 3. Injuries to key personnel are the problem. 4. The players just didn't execute. 5. Some of his players just can't be coached. Reminds me a lot of the excuses offered up for Cosgrove. Ala' Occam's Razor, does it ever occur to them these guys just can't coach? As far as Texas Officiating, that's why Arkansas jumped to the SEC. The got tired of being jobbed like we were last Sat. night. In 1969 a "Texas Call" cost the Razorbacks the NC.
  10. Well done. Don't forget the holy water.... Dan Beebe is the Antichrist.
  11. A lot of people just can't handle the existence of evil.
  12. "Don't get mad. Get even." -Joe Kennedy Sr. Death to Colorado.
  13. Do you REALLY think anything we do or don't do will keep Beebe from teeing off on us every chance he gets? Maybe a better question is does Perlman believe that? Throwing Bo under the bus to kowtow to Beebe, now THAT is demeaning to the University.
  14. Post that again and I'm contacting the Mods!!!!!
  15. I wonder if Perlman has the cuhonnies to investigate what's up with the conference officiating of Husker games. You know, a look at the data by NU's statistics department? Any supervisor worth a damn would first find out what prompted the bad behavior and whether there was any justification for it. Then decide the appropriate punishment. Anyone? Anyone?
  16. Section IV, page 108, paragraph 3, subparagraph F of the Big 12 Conference rule book: No Nebraska defensive player can tackle, touch or interfere in any way with a quarterback playing for a Texas-based team before, during or after said qb takes a snap from center. Penalty will be 15 yards.
  17. why yes I did notice Burkhead playing well I just checked the play by play and it appears that Helu wasn't back in the game after his 31 yard run. That was the reason for my original question whether Helu got hurt. My bad: you're right. A question worth getting answered, hopefully someone has it. Yes, we should fire our entire offensive coaching staff. Naw, just Watson and Gilmore after the season ends. Just Cotton and Gilmore after the season ends. Long, long overdue and not a knee-jerk reaction to one game. OK. You talked me into it. Watson, Gilmore, and Cotton.
  18. LOL! Unfortunately, years of experience in business has convinced me you can be sleazy and stupid at the same time. Our prisons are full of them. Not too many rocket scientists though.

  20. You mean like flaming on a Husker board? That type of emotional childishness? He's not a multi-million dollar head coach of one of the most prestigious football programs of all time on national TV. The venue is slightly different. Hypocrisy is hypocrisy, at whatever level. You are calling me a hypocrit? I think not. I coach at the high school level here in Nebraska, and I would NEVER act the way Pelini does, and if it ever were to happen, it would be in the locker room. You are a baby, and are really in denial, go back to your mothers teet kid. Are you a head coach or an assistant coach? The head coach has a lot more leeway with how he acts. If Carl had been acting like Bo, I bet Bo would have gotten on his case. Assistant, and I don't teach yet. I'm a college student who understands that you don't act like a child on the field where everyone can see you. (in response to an earlier post) LOL! We can see what you post on this board coach. Just in case you didn't know.......

Thank you for your textbook example of childish behavior. I couldn't have made you look worse if I tried. I won't mention your grade school level spelling and sentence construction. I hope they don't let you teach any classes coach. Your poor school could lose their certification. You are also wrong. I am calling you a hypocrite.
  22. I agree Bo needs better self-control on the sidelines, but he could have been Mother Theresa last night and that officiating crew would still have done a job on us.

  24. Yeah, I see your point, but doing a horrible job of officiating is the worst way to get picked up by another conference. That assumes they are thinking logically. Nebraska is gone from the conference, nothing they do can change that. Is revenge by itself enough of a reason? Maybe. I definitely believe we won't get anything at all out of the Big 12 office. I believe the conspiracy there, but the league office actions shouldn't affect play on the field, or so I thought until Martin's suspension. Whether or not they suspend Cotton's suitor will do nothing for us, except I guess it sends the rest of the conference a green light. The rest, yeah, I see the bad calls. I'm just still trying to figure out the why part, and what there is to gain for the refs to screw us. "I'm just still trying to figure out the why part, and what there is to gain for the refs to screw us". Goodwill with the Conferences bosses? Couldn't hurt your officiating job security. Like any bloated bureaucracy, they value "team players".
