  1. I know I am not the only one not buying the last four out figure. As a lot of you know I am a huge NU bball fan, but also a huge realist. So with that bring said, other than the Tejas and A&M wins at HOME, what is impressive about NU's resume? I know the bubble is very large at this point because of the expanded field, but without a quality road win, a SOS of schedule 64(an even more impressive 291st out of conference), an RPI of 71, and nine wins against opponents with RPI's of 207 or worse what honestly gives some you the hope that they will make it in? Also let's look at another factor that the comittee looks at, the performance over the last 10 games, and with a win over CU it would be 5-5 not with standing any conference tourney games, not exactly setting the world on fire. The conference is good, but is that more of a product of it being rather top heavy with KU, Tejas, and A&M? IF NU can do something it seldomly does, and knocks off the Buffs I honestly think it takes a semi final performance and be very competitive in that game to get in. It is almost like no team on the bubble wants to cement their spot, and yes it is up for grabs, but the way things are going I can see more deserving Mid-Major schools than NU AT THIS MOMENT. I guess we'll see, again as I have stated many a time on this board, I love eating crow served by Doc and the guys. However, actually prove to me ya want in and win on the road. A team that is "turning the corner" as a program wins games like the Big XII closer as well as the ISU game. Until then is it just another case of same ole same ole.
  2. He really needs to dunk the ball though. Kind of embarrassing for someone as tall as him. Remember though it hurts his feet when he lands. And almost 40 minutes of running is ok?
  3. Mike Anderson is another coach whose teams love to take a dump in Lincoln and get worked over. The other Rick Barnes and any Okie Light coach of late.
  4. So is Mizzou taking crap shots and missing, or is the defense actually decent
  5. What does your wife think about your huskerboard addiction Was she proud you almost made it to 100 posts If you could only see the smile that wasn't on her face. But hey were young, she was probably too busy watching crap on tv most of that night. It was the bottle of Jack that was killed that really had her happy
  6. I would be all for it, but for some reason up here in the Rocky Mountains this game isn't that important and I am unable to watch it. I was happier than sh#t when I found out our hotel had wifi and I would be able to get on the board from time to time, but a chase at a hondo would probably piss the wife off something fierce on our last night in Winter Park, and I gotta get some. So yes I fully support redout22 in his quest tonight. I gladly will pick up the challenge against CU. GO BIG RED
  7. Gotta disagree with ya on this one. KSU was a much better matchup athleticly for NU. Yes the Wildcats have been hot of late, but Texas was on fire prior to Nebraska. This was not a trap game. NU knew it more or less had to win out to get in the Tourney. If they really wanted in, emotionally drained can never be an excuse. I don't buy it. What do you think would be more draining the last four games of the season or trying to win four games in four days to get into the tourney, and then trying to perfotm well there. The ISU game falls under the same broken record of not playing well on the road, playing to the level of the opponent, and a team looking unprepared and unmotivated. Yes there has been fire of late. But until there is some semblence of consistancy I srill won't bite. 9 offensive rebounds is crazy(i was certain it had to be a typo) but where was/has he been on the defensive boards? One of the things that kill this team are opponents 2nd chance points, and with a 6'11" guy down low it is inexcusable that he never has more. Take some of that fire he is showing and use it to not get shoved under the basket by opponents. Other than that, backer you bring some good points as usual.
  8. You bring up a great point here, what has he been doing over the past year? Obviously he has been hitting the books hard, but hopefully he has been living in the gym. Pretty sure it came out around the time he took the last test, Braylon had said that his high school coach was pretty involved in keeping him in shape and working out. Another benefit of the Youngstown connection, as Bo said the coaches there are a very tight knit bunch.
  9. Damn, I forgot Paul too. Good call Po! That's alright everyone forgets about Crewe until he is drunk or has surpassed 70 posts in a given night. For me it's aspeedlin, Po Belini, skerschicago, redout22, GMoose, GSG, mmmtodd, well hell I would probably enjoying a beer with any of ya'll
  10. Glad Braylon made his score. But until I see him walking around campus and enrolled for classes I will look at this more as a "glass half full" situation. We were all teased by Heard getting "the score he needed" and then not being eligible. Congrats, tongue in cheek, but someone a little higher up on the admissions side of things needs to confirm this for me to be fully happy.
  11. Damn I am not one to toot my own horn or anything, but TOOT TOOT TOOT. Almost like Nostradamus or something. Sorry had to do it. Sounds like another typical game for NU. Part of the blame on Doc, part on the players, what's new? It is just another chapter of this messed up drama/comedy that we have been witnessing since Nee got canned. Oh well off to the NIT. Now off to the slopes.
  12. The Dudley Boys, The Hardy Boys, Edge and Christian, Road Dogg and Badass Billy Gunn The New Age Outlaws were great. I guess I was talking more about today's wrestling, should have specified. The Hardy's were more fun when they started. They came out in tye'dyed colored pants and crazy colors like that, did their crazy stuff off the ropes, but ALWAYS ended up getting their asses kicked I loved it. Edge and Christian, eh, always liked Gangrel more, when they were the brood. Christian's Impaler finisher was a classic. The TLC matches for the tag team titles that Hardy's, Dudley's and E & C had were classic! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rb9SHMuG_r0&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXRw0rDdnTw&feature=fvwrel I was more of a fan of the New Age Outlaws Vs Cactus Jack and Terry Funk(Chainsaw Charlie) in a dumpster match in Wrestlemania XIV
  13. Look out hippies the Crewe is heading to WinterParkfor a couple of days of skiing. I will miss my HuskerBoard, but hope to make up for it by smoking some Ralphie pumper out on the slope.

  15. Went to a small school out in Western Nebraska. Played football and ran track at Doane. High School Football- Two time All State DB. Senior year led the state of Nebraska in interceptions regardless of class with 17. Two time All Conference as a Quarterback. Led team to the furthest it had ever been in the playoffs and had a career record as starting QB of 21-3, all loses to the same team. Played D-1, and always remember EVEN MAN FOOTBALL RULES!!!!!! Basketball- Three time All Conference. And had 12 dunks my senior year. But the best was one I missed against the neighboring little sh#t town, and I got razzed by their fans for about 15 minutes straight. Everytime I touched the ball. I loved it. Took off from the volleyball backline, and back rimmed it back to half court. The kicker was I already had dunked on them twice. I loved basketball too much. The proximity of the fans and the availibility to talk smack. I talked way too much and my mom was so proud. I talked crap to you, your teammates, coaches, fans, student sections, cheerleaders, parents, and grandparents. I talked too much. Oh and my junior year I was kicked out for getting t'd up twice after fouling out against our rival. My coach joined me about a minute later. We had a great chat the last half of the fourth quarter. Again my mother was SO proud. Track-Two time medalists in the 400, again Class D. School records in the 200(22.7), 400(50.4), 300 hurdles(41.0), high jump(6'6) and the 4x100 relay. Never medaled at state in the high jump as I always had to run the 400 prelim and never could recover to jump decent. Also was the first person to qualify for state in four events. Track was in my genes, and I absolutely hated it. But it payed for an education at Doane and that isn't cheap. At Doane, blew my hammy right before the indoor track season my freshman year and never was the same. In football was the GPAC Defensive Player of the Week my senior after the Hastings game. And played in the GPAC vs. the HAAC All Star game. However, my greatest personal sports achievement was during my bachelor party in Chicago for a Cubs/Cards series and I caught a ball tossed to me from Micah Hoffpauer
  16. I remember it being at least over 150. At least. He was my favorite. I guess because everyone loves a winner and his finishing move was cool. He finally lost to some trickeration. His entrance was badass too GILBERG's entrance was so much better. Nothing says pyrotechnics like a couple guys holding sparklers. Old school WCW, when Sting wore more than black, and had blond spiked hair. Flyin' Brian Pillman. The original DX/NWO/or any"gang" they write up, which would be the Four Horsemen. The Great Muta and his green mist. Sid Vicious. As for WWF, the Ultimate Warrior was my fave. You had real tag teams like the Rockers, the Legion of Doom, the Nasty Boys, Demolition. Jake the Snake Roberts. Always loved HBK.
  17. Huskerjournal I wonder if they broke down their stellar off-season workout program for Michael. ZING!!!!
  18. The Clowns are shorthanded, tired, beat down, bruised, thinned and underdogs. On paper this looks like a game Doc's crew should win. But alas, this wounded dog in the corner are the teams that NU seem to struggle with year after year and as proven this year NU can play down to its opponents especially on the road. I think Nu can pull off the W, but will not be shocked if it is a struggle(at Hilton, a graveyard for Doc's teams) or even the unthinkable. The keys are the same like every game I post. I would expect to see a strong effort to pound it inside again. From there it is up to Diaz and Andre to go up strong and with a purpose to have any success with that game plan. And again alas, we have seen how often that works. Hopefully a couple of the guards show up and play huge roles, and I expect Jeter to play like we know not this abnomilly that showed up against KSU. I wish I would be able to watch and post with all my other Nebrasketball locos, but again alas, I am heading to the cess pool to the west better known as Colorado for a couple of days of skiing. I will be sporting my Husker red on the slopes and looking for as many Buff toting hippies I can to mow over. Best of luck to all, have good mosh pitting, er I mean posting, and please someone top my record of 94 post on a Nebrasketball game day. Howeever, I recomend not downing the bottle of Jack in the process otherwise Shawn Worjsan makes and appearance, and it ain't pretty. Peace. GO BIG RED!!
  19. Oh hell yeah. I can see it now, Bruce whips out the red blazer for the big games. Straight up Danny Nee style.
  20. A personal shout out to Nebrasketball, Jack Daniels, PoBelini, and mmmtodd for their support in my quest for 100 posts. Alas we fell a little short, but it is something we will learn from to improve our next time out.
