  1. Redout you are LOCO, but I love it. Here's my thinking either this team has turned the corner from years past and wins on the raod or is a team of years past and lays another egg after a great W. The lack of an inside presense without Diaz(even as much as I enjoy kicking the guy) will hurt this team severely. KSU will sit back in a zone and say ok NU and you sharpshooting 3 points shooters beat us, and this is a bad scenario. I think Almeida will give it a try and after 5 minutes of PT he will be done. An ankle injury on that frame will be no where near ready. KSU is a classic example of a team NU should beat. They are a mess, in total disarray, and everyone is questioning their heart and effort. These are always the games that seems to trip NU up. KSU is a mess, in disarray, and probably have given up, but they are still quite talented. My whole thought process about this Husker squad probably hinges on this game, IF and that is a big IF, Diaz plays. A win without him, I'll probably dance down the street in this weather naked, a loss without him equals a pass on my part. It is way to funny that this game depends so much on a kid I am the first to throw under the bus.
  2. Ditto. When Maric was shut down offensively and pushed around by the likes of stronger KU posts, he would turn up the intensity in defense, rebounding and trying to get others going on offense. Diaz does one of these things and that is pass, I will never overly dog his passing because it is pretty good. Is it just me or does Diaz seem to be in another realm when he is on the bench? I will give him a pass last weekend because A, he played well offensively and appeared to be aggressive in getting his shot(15 attempts). And B, the crap in real life he is going through with his family. Condolences, and I hope he is back for KSU(if the blizzard from hell doesn't wipe it out).
  3. The weight issue is that USC wanted him to pack on more to move down into the interior DLine. It affected his play and quickness. Not 100% sure if it was a lot of bad(fat) weight or muscle mass. He became slower and not near the explosive player he was as a junior. I had heard it was both, but would not be suprised if there was some junk in the trunk weight put on. All that being said, I think he ends up Bruin in the end. I will happily welcome if he chooses NU, but Nueweasel is can spit venom with the best of them. OWA Part Deux. But it makes for great conversation doesn't it?
  4. Derek Slaughter has now accepted his preferred walk on offer
  5. Didn't know where exactly to post this. Per Rivals and called out by someone on the frontpage status updates, GMoose, David Sutton will accept the greyshirt offer. Welcome David
  6. Yo segundo. I know there are Spanish speaking members on here somewhere.
  7. It really is not surprising. From what I know, Jalen put on a rather large amount of bad weight, and it showed in his performance. Had a pretty down year at Gorman. The added weight did affect Jalen last year. Everything I have heard said USC wanted him to do it to slide down to the interior. I had heard nothing about moving him to the other side of the ball. However, the DT thing has a lot of weight(no pun intended) to it.
  8. Alright, confirmed pretty much every where. And as irule said can we at least spell the kids name right? Now all we will hear around campus is "Bondi want smush smush!!"
  9. True, though when have SEC schools cared about scholarship limits? Also true but Richt has been one of the few coaches that actually stays within the limits. It is the Bama, LSU, South Carolina, and Auburn over signings of late that has made this a huge deal.
  10. This could be interesting now. I can easily see him getting all caught up in the "dream team" hype with Drew, Gabe Wright, et al at Georgia. However, this dream team rush of committs will put them over 25 commits including two four star stud LBs and leaves me wondering how much room they actually have. I really am wondering if one of the in state schools made a serious play on Kent.
  11. What? I thought Sade was literally like Top 2. Rivals is showing 16 for Bondi. Yes, Bondi is 16th, but they have Sade as 30th and Wile isn;t ranked. Also Bondi is a 5.4 two star whereas Sade and Wile are both 5.3. I think it was Sade's kicking guru coach that said he was top two. The kid going to A&M is the best high school kicker with Heidari kid going to USC probably the second best. After that it is a straight crap shoot on who is better.
  12. He is at DE, I was agreeing with dylan abount the point that Vestal could easily grow into a DT. He is a massive man and I think the extra weight wouldn't hurt his speed. I think this guy eventually is a star here. Cotton would move to OL before anyone else on the DLine roster. Hopefully he keeps his $h!t straight and doesn't become a topic of conversation the bad way anymore.
  13. Yes it is nice to get the pub, but there is a TON of work to do before thoughts of a NCAA bid come to light. NU's RPI will be it's biggest opponent the rest of the year. A scalp of KU definitely won't hurt, and I think a conference record of 10-6 is a must. That means going 7-3 the rest of the way with games with KU, OSU and Texas at the BOB and a road trip to Waco(a very talented bunch of underachievers). Remember the last time this team was coming off a quality(at the time) win they layed a complete egg on the road against a team they were capable of beating. Sounds familiar look at this week. Big win, going to Manhatten. The Cats are the biggest bunch of underachievers this year. They are talented, but the suspensions have killed them. They were a mess today against Rock Chalk. Also sound familiar, sounds a lot like Tech. And the injury to Almeida makes this game that much tougher IMO. I hope for the best but this could just be a token NU team. One big upset at home, something that NU has done before, and then playing close in a ton of games. So again as sweet as the attention was tonight, again I beg fans to take the reality glass and put it back on the table. This week will tell us fans a lot.
  14. agreed. lots of people are saying Walker was a reach and may not be around for four years. Again I am skeptical on pulling the reach or not good card out after a year where learning the system and adding muscle are more of the priorities. Same for Tobi Okuyemi, although he did himself no favors by getting in a little trouble earlier for alcohol. There were only two SR's at DE last year in total, so again this year not so much of a priority. you're right about Vestal and Rome on being interior DLinemen, Vestal won't go to the offense before Cotton, who would likely end up over there before any current DLinemen NU has. Again watch out for next year. DE's galore
  15. The deal behind this is that the twitter world is saying he will be a hurricane. HOWEVER, I am hearing a lot of whispers of maybe another school having a chance. Whispers from these people are usually 50-50 hit and miss, so I am not taking this one to seriously.
  16. What gives take the boys to Lost in Fun playland for a birthday party this afternoon, with no TV access that isn't showing a cartoon, and come home to this little nugget. Good win for Doc's crew. Looking through the box score I see two things that probably helped the outcome. Turnovers. NU finished with 7 an unheard of number for this squad really. Any time you can get that number under 10 you give yourself a great chance for success. FTs. A&M losing this stat 12-6 probably had more of a direct effect on the game. 70% in a big game is not something that we usually see from Doc's team. And it seems to be a bugaboo that slowly is getting better for this team. NU only lost the rebound battle by 8. Pretty impressive, but can definitely be shored up, especially on the road. No way should Jeter be the leading rebounder. Secondly, 3-15 from beyond the arc will not win you a lot of games. Maybe Bear is getting into a groove and someone else can get hot too down in the Little Crapple. Again a very good win versus a very good team. The highest ranked opponent to be slain by a Doc led crew. Sounds like Diaz stepped up his offensive aggressiveness, now let's do it on the glass . Hope Almeida's ankle doesn't hamper him long, but I am not so sure it won't. And am very interested what Doc says about Toney. Good momentum heading to KSU. That team has been kicked a lot this year, hopefully the momentum can be carried into the next game which will be very difficult.
  17. yup. sounds like we decided one DE was enough. i don't know anything about how good this kid or lake from hawaii are, but i am surprised that we apparently decided carter was all we were taking. i would have rather had at least one high school DE. Bu already landed Max Pirman who has said in interviews that coaches want him to start out asa DE. He just has the body/frame and skillset to be able to play multiple positions. Plus NU has five guys from last year. I know no one has stood out of the group but not every kid is going to tear it up his first season or two. Finally there is a slew of DE's in next years recruiting circuit. Quite possibly the deepest in years, the state of Ohio alone could crank out 6/7 D1 prospects. Not that worried.
  18. For what it is worth he is actually a higher rated kicker than Sade and Wile Fa get about it, it's a Jahrsey thang
  19. Bondi Peat, i'm with aspeedlin there is just a little vibe in the air arounf this kid now. Also I still say Hobbi may have helped land this kid Virgile, my suprise signee. I'd hope he can see the opportunity availible Misses or passes, Akeem, the slot has been filled, thanks for visiting good luck to ya Lockhart, east coast guy Bass, stays to play with big bro
  20. Atta boy bballbacker, going out on the limb. I love it. I hope for the best and they can win, but I don't know. Homecourt will help, and add in the fact that the game isn't on TV so I can see the Bob being fairly full. Now the bigs HAVE to show up. Right now I got the over/under of rebound margain for NU at -13. A&M is that good and relentless on the boards. Finally McCray and one other gueard MUST show up to get the W. Jeter as I, along with many others, is the heart of this team and NU's best player PERIOD. He will need help today
  21. Yes, it has alot to do with that. Actually, I don't think that had any thing to do with it. The coaches would have loved to get both Lake and Carter. Lake just straight up decided to go to Oregon. Agreed. With Carter being a 2 for 2 guy, and the high probability of Lake redshirting his first year, Carter would have been a senior during Lake's RFr year. This wouldn't scare Lake off. I think Lake choose the road that a lot of us thought he would go for reasons we thought he would.
  22. Cyrus Hobbi announced he was going to USC at his high school, we shall see what happens. They will cheer for him no matter where he chooses. Maybe he is announcing there to avoid the negative feedback from fellow high schoolers who actually follow college football more than a bunch of 2nd and 4rd graders. Oh yeah, put the kicker's mug up there aspeedlin.
  23. Believe the WHorns are looking to close with linemen anyways. They sitting decent with Rasco and another guy(Alexander) and are trying to poach an OLineman from one of their neighbors I think they swung and missed with Rasco, but Brandon Alexander looks like a real legit possibility. I think I read they will try and push Spencer Drango, a 4 star OT that has been committed to baylor for some time now. LaRaven Clark is also a possibility for the Whorns. LaRaven told the Texas staff to get bent and is staying aRe Raider. Drango is interesting as he is still solid to Baylor but may give in to a lot of people pressuring to become a Whorn(Christ let a damn kid make his own decision). Alexander probably is the only lock out of the crop, but who knows with Rasco, Mack was in home with him on Thursday. Saying they missed since he didn't commit then, is like saying we missed with Peat. Rasco has been very quiet the whole process. He is in Gainsville this weekend, and LSU has only one other DE commit. Never bet against the homestatee school(as if their class isn't loaded enough), but I think there is a slight chance the Horns can get him. A lot of $$$ down there.
  24. Believe the WHorns are looking to close with linemen anyways. They sitting decent with Rasco and another guy(Alexander) and are trying to poach an OLineman from one of their neighbors
