  1. Agreed. Not gonna care how it gets done, just get that win and off to the next week. Looking for a Niles Paul sighting today.
  2. All I ask is that Barney Cotton earned that paycheck this week and today. GOOOOOOO BIIIIIIIIIG REEEEEEEEEED!!!!!!
  3. I really wish the Kool Aid was tasting as good for me. I think this game will be a defensive dogfight. Everything that I have seen from NU this year is thrown out out the window against the Horns for obvious reasons. I just feel we are about to go 60 minutes with a wounded dog that is trapped in the corner. Nothing will be easy. For once in this game I think we have a decisive edge in special teams and think Alex is the difference. I wanted to jump all over Texas especially getting 12, but the Sker inside of me never could do that. I am going with a win, let's say 17-14(think TO finally breaking thru against Boomer and you'll appreciate the score). Not saying a last second field goal to win but this game will be dicey. Believe me, I hope I am so far off on this game, but I just can't see it getting anywhere close to getting out of hand like many are thinking.
  4. Don't know what kind of cable provider you have, but if you have DISH like I do, when that message comes up on ESPN or ESPN 2 I can find the game on my ESPN alternate channels that are listed above the regular ESPN stations. Hope that's your case if not, enjoy the bar I guess.
  5. I'd take this "weakness" of theirs anyday of the week. You do realize Texas is a top 20 run defense and take away the second half against UCLA they give up 2 yards a tote. And it is not like we have been running all over the Steel Curtain, today we find out how good our line is and maybe Barney will earn that paycheck
  6. Agreed. Today's task is the only thing to be looking at. This Texas team would probably roll Aggie and the Zoo. This is a wounded dog in the corner NU faces today.
  7. Mack is so old that he took Susan B Anthony's virginity.
  8. On game days beer is beer and free beer is best and I don't complain when it's handed to me. However, at mi casa, being Western Nebraskan relocated to Lincoln, I drink the only good thing that comes out of Colorado. Original Coors for me. After much consumption I either celebrate the win like broganreynik with a White Russian(a tribute to the Dude) and in defeat I drown myself in Admiral Nelson and a splash of Coke.
  9. The only "alternate" uni's I'd be down with is a tribute to the '70 title team and do like the team did for the 300 sellout game. A throwback tribute would work for me.
  10. Turner was put in a very tough spot with what KU had coming in, but I am really questioning some of the moves he made, like moving Operum from RB. That kid was a stud as a frosh last year. Hopefully he will get it turned around in the future until then the curb stomping goes down next month.
  11. Mancrush? Not so much but everyone of on here usually has that one recruit that we;d give a kidney up for a commit. This year, Cyrus is that kid. C'mon once we got a commit(albeit he won't step foot on campus) named Bubba you knew he had to have a protector named Cyrus. It just works. Now back to THE MAN. My biggest thing with his visit is that it says he is coming with his brother. Only wish ma or pa could be there with him. You know dad would be mucho impressed with the staff, and mom would probably be sold on everything. But one good Texass sized ass kicking will do wonders I am sure.
  12. Boy one of these schools is not like the others....hmmm..... still bankin on the kid ending up in Iowa with a 33% chance he's South Bend bound
  13. I am actually hoping Wayne's recent knee injury maybe scares off some of those offers. There is no doubt in my mind that Bo and company will continue to work on this kid. Afterall we could have bailed on Chris Williams, but we gave him every resource he needed to rehab and get back to condition, he just failed to hold up on his end of the deal. Pass it to the left brotha
  14. Zac was a Clownahan hold over so that is why he wasn't mentioned. As far as bringing in JUCOs I agree with Bo's philosophy. If there is a major glaring hole that needs a quick fix then by all means do the homework and get the best one out there. However, I'd much rather get in high school kids that you'd get for four years. We have seen how long it is taking some of these JUCOs take to adapt to the schemes and become a productive asset and when it is a 2 for 2 guy, is it really worth it vs getting a kid for four years and molding them into what Bo wants. But when the quick fix is needed Bo and the staff have been pretty spot on.
  15. Thanks for that. I thought I was going to be the only jerk to point out that I was O'fenceded bye teh gramers. That makes three of us, and now my head hurts. However for the most part this year NU has kept it pretty basic and close to the vest. There have been some wrinkles here and there(the pistol, wildcat, and both Roy and Rex in the backfield at the same time) but not a whole lot shown from those packages. I think Saturday we will see more, because I think Wats will need to show more.
  16. Now this is what I am talking about. Cyrus enjoy the game hopefully with Mr Moore sitting on your right and Mr. Reeves on the left. And don't shy away from Mr. Turner cause he knows what he is preaching
  17. No that would be what was flying out of his mouth.

As long as everyone here realizes that this local bar ain't downtown, it's down on 27th and Yankee Hill. But it is a very nice bar, very white collar, just think of the neighborhood it is in. Wilderness Ridge. I'm building the new Subaru dealership right across the street from it.
  19. My heart screams blowout, a no brainer, but my brain for some uneasy feeling that has been eating at me for weeks says a field goal. Maybe not as time expires or even in the 4th, but I sense it will be close. Please brain be wrong. Please be as wrong as you were all those late nights in college when it came to judgement calls.
  20. Agree with the post above. UCLA took advantage of short fields created by UT turnovers. In no way whatsoever did they dominate the Whorns except turnover margin. The thing that the game did show was that Texas will quit. Watch the fourth quarter of that game and you'll see one uninspired team just wanting to get off the field. Boomer is Jeckyll and Hyde. They have their moments of greatness followed by a half of Clownahanish football at it's best. They outplayed Texas for the majority of the game but let them back in it as well. That being said, this game will be won with this battle: NU OLine vs. the UT DLine. I am not 100% sold on our line yet. This will be their ultimate test. Sirles better grow up fast because Mr. Acho might be the best he'll see for a while. If we cannot get a consistant push up front it could be a very long afternoon if Taylor has to throw against the second best secondary in the nation to NU's. Their speed will pose a serious problem when ew try to run the stretch plays and will limit big, huge runs. Barney may earn his paycheck on Saturday or I will continue doubting him.
  21. Damn I was hoping for some Camstache mom pics. But oh well, he and Baker have been very productive for the defense really.
  22. that is too much. This didn't even register while I typed it. It is slightly humorish when you look right above it and see snowball with it. My bad. Maybe it is how the severe lisp began
  23. Again why no love for Cyrus? I'll bump ya up the page. C'mon folks he'll be here this weekend, he's stoked for the visit, and he'll complete the best O Line class in arguably the nation. Seriously I'll be more pumped for his commitment than a certain RB
  24. My turn to be the broken record.... If we continue to win, put out dominant defenses, and continue to generate mass excitement the Texas pipeline will always be there. Coach Beck has so many connections and is so respected in high school coaching circles, especially in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex, that we will always be in the door with kids in the state.
  25. Dear Turner, I am so sorry but we are gonna straight curb stomp your hapless Jayhawks. Nothing personal, we still love the Triplets, but it is what it is. Signed Husker Nation
