And then the dumbass varsity coach at Skoblo High cost us a couple state championships by not letting the Polish Rifle play varsity ball as a frosh so he transferred to Rapid City and the rest is history. I saw Calvin Jones at state track one year. He took up 2 lanes in the 100 meter dash.

Something to talk about since there's no fb for a couple weeks. I'm sure everyone has noticed how the BTN is calling us NEB, and Northwestern NU. At first I was ticked off about that, because we're the REAL NU, but now, I'm cool with NEB. I'm from outstate Nebraska originally, Scottsbluff, and honestly the only connection we had with you all back east was the Huskers. The Panhandle is not the Midwest; we have lots more in common with Wyoming and Colorado than Lincoln and Omaha. To me, the Husks represent the whole STATE, not primarily just the university. NEB reflects that more than NU. Especially now that us folks out here in God's country are deprived of even every other year game in Boulder, and the nearest Husk game for us in Lincoln. In short, I know there's a lot of tradition in NU, but there was a lot of tradition in a lot of things that no more now that we're in the B1G, and I prefer NEB. Anyone else?

take a look at what tOSU fans are saying about Bauserman. Wowsers. I mean, yeah, he played poorly, and definitely contributed to their loss, but there is some seriously out of control stuff being posted. I never heard / read anyone saying anything near as bad about Tmart as is being said this morning about that poor bastard. Maybe it's just the tOSU fans. I'm pretty sure anyone caught speaking that poorly of any NU player as tOSU fans are speaking of Bauserman and the D would have their residence in Nebraska revoked immediately.

I don't know about the specifics, but I agree absolutely that Bo needs to grow up. A 20 year old getting testy with the media, I understand. But dealing with the media part of the job description. Bo makes $2.3 mil a year or whatever. He can goddamn well act like an adult when doing PR stuff. He doesn't have to be TO or a greasy good ole boy like Mack Brown, but damn, man, show some composure. Do us proud. Act, well, act a little bit more Nebraskan.

By the time the smoke clears on this season, we'll be glad for 8-4, I think. This is, once again, not a championship-caliber team. I remember lots of folks saying that SDSU last year was just a fluke, just the first game, etc etc. And all those issues that we had in that first game never really got fixed. I see this season developing much the same way, and I ain't going to go drinking the Kool-Aid again for smoke and mirrors. Going to be fun when Tmart's a senior and those triplets are juniors, though. Lots of potential there. Of course, they'll need an O-line to help them out and there's no guarantee of that happening. Probably not even a good chance.

Okay, TAMU's gone from the Big 12-3, so the $20 million question is - who else does the SEC take? I'd say Mizery is the most likely - evidently the SEC schools are hellbent on preventing anyone else from their states joining, so that nixes Fla St, Clemson, Georgia Tech - I think. But if they take Mizery/Okie, that unbalances them east-west, maybe causing Auburn and Bama to be in different divisions? Id' say this is unlikely, except the B1G did it to tOSU & Michigan. I think NC has too high of academic standards to go into the SEC. Miami, obviously, is not a choice for anyone just now, but I threw them in anyway. VA Tech would be the most likely, but they've got a pretty sweet deal where they are, so ... As for the B1G expanding again, I can't see. But what do I know? As for superconferences - I voted no because I hope not. I don't like that idea. At all.

I'd love to see Tmart flinging it around. He showed flashes of brilliance against Okie Lite last year. Granted, they were a terrible pass defense last year, but still. That counts for more than HS stats, anyway.

There is nothing wrong and everything right with what Taylor said in this regard. These should be the expectations every year. And there is no locker room fodder to be found here. And here's the part where you would have to be really grasping for things over which to criticize Taylor. k I should totally have left out the 2nd part. When we put up 76 on Chatanoogie this weekend, I'm sure I"ll be drinking the kool-aid right there with you. Still, I think you can point out that your starting QB said a dumb thing, which is really all I was saying, and I meant it mostly tongue-in-cheek, without being declared an Enemy of the Husker State. Sheesh. Some of you people seriously need to lighten up. No worries man, not bagging on you. I am the biggest Taylor hater around.
