  1. Some are ignorant, but for those who aren't, I don't think there's anything that can be done short of revolution. I've thought for years now that is the only chance at fixing things. I think we're inevitably going down the toilet. Anyone who actually tries to fight this system will just be labelled crazy by the two-party controlled media.
  2. What if they're buying good policy? lol. That's almost never the case. If it was, they wouldn't need to pay for it. It's normally things like lowering the amount a multi-billion $ corporation can get sued for when they do something horrible (e.g. BP and the oil spill), or making it so the safety inspectors for different industries are employed by the companies themselves, or the little "corporations are people" number. When you have to pay off politicians to get something to pass, it's usually because it's something that probably shouldn't pass. It's usually something that's bad for the people.
  3. I have a pretty decent base now. I put up an effeminate sign outside the base with my username and a peace sign below it. I can't decide if this will deter people from destroying it or make them want to destroy it even more.
  4. This is one reason I don't see why anyone is a staunch Democrat or staunch Republican. I can't be on either side when they've let this happen. It should not be legal to buy policy. That isn't democracy. The wealthy aren't evil by default but the wealthy who use their money to buy policy that helps their company and effs everyone else certainly are.
  5. The reason I keep hearing that TG and TS need to use bathrooms of the gender they aren't is so they are more comfortable. Are they uncomfortable because of a modesty issue or because they fear being assaulted? If it is the former then you have protected the modesty of .2% of the population while making uncomfortable probably half or more of the total female population. If it is the later then "well we got some laws against that". I don't know how long it has been since you were in high school or been around high school boys but if you think some will not push the envelope to find a way to successfully spend time in the girls locker room and bathrooms and come away with pics/video, then your head is a long way up your keester. How is the law making half or more of the female population uncomfortable? Does this law mean every man will suddenly start using the women's restroom? I imagine this will be a very rare occurrence. As for actual transgendered women, I don't think that many women would be bothered by it. To the last bolded, that already happens. In fact, trying to take video of girls locker rooms/bathrooms would probably be harder when attempting it in such an obvious way. I am not saying that every man would start using women's bathrooms. There is a small % of men who would delight in making a woman uncomfortable by following her into a bathroom. And even of that small % very few of those would even be molesters. Can you honestly say you would be comfy if a 6'2 200 lb man followed you into the public bathroom and while not saying anything didn't go into a stall to use the facility? Not saying he was peeping or even near your stall. He might be checking for spinach in his teeth or combing his hair. Would you open the stall door and nonchalantly walk to the sink and wash if he was between you and the exit door? If you say you wouldn't give it another thought you are unlike the 12-15 women I have asked a similar question to over the last few weeks. Given that all the respondents were here in conservative central Nebraska and I would guess at least half of women nationwide do/would not feel comfortable with a man in the same bathroom. Who is standing up for those women? Why do they have to "get over themselves and their insecurities"? After all that I'm saying I don't see why we as a nation need to cross this bridge for .2% of the population. If the feds are that serious about this then let them fund the cost of either private single stall/either sex bathrooms or make TG/TS only bathrooms. I'm also NOT saying I think TG individuals are now or would be a major problem with being offensive. I would feel uncomfortable, but not more uncomfortable than I already feel just by being in a public restroom. I don't care if it's a man woman or child in there with me, I don't like public restrooms. I've had little kids peeking under the stall to look at me while I was peeing before. Damn kids. I think what would make women far more uncomfortable than the possibility of some kind of assault happening is the chance that a man might hear them making "bathroom noises." Why do you think those kids peeked? Because kids are kids, damn kids. Most little kids watch their parents (or at least their moms) go to the bathroom, and apparently some of them want to watch everyone go to the bathroom.

  7. You've been posting this stuff for months with this amusing, child-like hope that Clinton is just going to magically disappear.
  8. A president's genitalia is not relevant.

  10. f#*k...Mo is about to LOSE IT ON YOU You've made multiple posts like this about me and I don't get it. As for this topic, I haven't even made up my own mind. I see nothing in his post even worth arguing against.
  11. Gender IS a societal construct. Sex is not. There are things men do better than women and vice versa and they are different. But men aren't born to wear pants and like blue and play with trucks and women aren't born to wear dresses and make up and like pink and play with dolls. Which is why I don't understand gender reassignment surgeries. I think people have the surgeries due to societal expectations and what society tells them they should be like if they're born with certain genitalia. I think what most transgendered people are fighting against, maybe without realizing it, is societal norms. Not the actual biological sex they were born with. *note: I did not watch the videos yet
  12. I'm less angsty today. When I posted this I'd built my starter base and had to go to bed before I could build this item that stops people from building on top of my base. So when I woke up, someone had removed my door and walled over everything and made it their base BUT I have a bigger and better base now and one day I will destroy them and take back what's mine! Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'm sure I will get annoyed again and try one/more of them.
  13. I'm sure Bo tried real hard and was being totally truthful.
  14. Wanting to protect the environment has nothing to do with political correctness. That being said I'd like to see some actual research on the damage they do. Yeah, Hunter94! Take that! Good work Mo. And Mo, if you do find that research on balloons and how quickly they biodegrade please be sure to post that in this thread or even start another thread, this board could use some hot topics like that. Kay. Things don't biodegrade instantly so I'm not sure what that photo was supposed to prove. McDonald's fries take ages. Maybe those balloons take 100 years instead of 1,000,000.
  15. Lawrence Phillips dragged his girlfriend down several flights of stairs by her hair. Try to imagine having that happen to you for a second. There is absolutely no reason why we can't judge Osborne for letting Phillips stay on the team. I think Osborne is a good man and tried to do the right thing. I don't think he kept Phillips on the team because he thought it would win him a national championship. But that doesn't change the fact that he should have been kicked off the team. It doesn't matter that Phillips did what was asked of him. What should have been asked of him was to not come to anymore practices or games because he was no longer a part of the team. No one is saying that Osborne is as bad as Paterno. What's being said is that outward appearances aren't everything.
  16. Most people who use the word agenda have no idea what it means. Most of the time people have opinions without having an agenda other than wanting to speak their opinion. I mean, if anyone posting here actually had an agenda, they wouldn't be trying to forward it by posting here.

  18. And now he is the athletic director of a major university while you are doing what??? If I learned anything from the thread on Trump...having a sweet gig or lots of money or a chance to be president as the republican nominee means nothing and you only got to all those things because of luck and everyone else being stupid. You didn't learn anything, exaggerator.
  19. I didn't know there was a primary (I'm an independent). And I think a lot of Sanders voters are new to the whole thing. Maybe a lot of them weren't aware this was happening.
  20. I wish people would quit misspelling Ickyhorst.
  21. The NCAA might want to rethink reinstating Paterno's wins. When you threaten a boy who claims your assistant coach raped him, you're a win at all costs coach. And Paterno WAS their football program.
  22. What matters most about UNL is education. Period. I'd put research above that.
  23. Its been a long day and I'm not smart. Cut me some slack ☺ For the record, Sanders won Nebraska a couple months ago.
  24. So, I started playing this game in alpha called Rust. There are some things I really love about it. You start out buck naked with a rock and a torch. You can design your own base. Or multiple bases. You learn blueprints to make more advanced things for your base, or more advanced weapons. You can hunt animals for food and cloth to make your own clothes. There are air drops from helicopters and planes and there's radiation in some areas. It's a post apocalyptic world but you never really find out what happened. You're just trying to survive. The trouble with it is the player base is a bunch of jerkfaces. Most of the time the other players just shoot you without question. Every so often you can talk your way out of being shot and only have to give half your crap to them. The only way to do really well is to play with a bunch of other people on a team or clan. The fact it's so challenging trying to hide from the other players and not get killed is kind of fun in its own way but it can be incredibly frustrating when you're just starting out in the game and they have rocket launchers and machine guns vs your wooden spear. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for games like this where you either can't kill the other players, or there are specific pvp zones/safe zones, or the player base isn't a bunch of a**holes.
