  1. Count, the thing is, we played other teams with poor rush defenses and we didn't do this against them.
  2. Did ya say "hey"? No. If we had been outside of Nebraska I might have.
  3. Turner Gill just walked down the aisle of my plane!
  4. feminism has nothing to do with political correctness. It gets a bad name due to some crazies but the true meaning of feminism is equality for women. There should be a differentiation between feminist females who like to make sure everyone knows they grow out their armpit and leg hair and normal feminists. "Political Correctness" is a phrase that gets thrown around way too often. Anytime someone is an a-hole their defense is that everyone is trying to be PC. It's a cop out.
  5. The Stormtroopers in TFA, and the original trilogy for that matter aren't necessarily clones. In TFA I believe most of the troops are "brainwashed" orphans taken at an early age. I think this is why Finn and Rey have a unique bond, both being orphaned young. Ya. I don't recall hearing in the movie that any of the stormtroopers were clones.
  6. http://www.firstcoastnews.com/story/news/local/florida/2015/12/22/dawn-meikle-port-st-lucie-woman-arrested-after-fight-over-flatulence/77769350/ Sounds like he didn't even hold her down and fart on her head. She overreacted.
  7. I love Boulder. I'm pretty sure we talked about this like 2 years ago so we don't really need to again There are lots of other things near Boulder that I like too, like Estes Park.
  8. If 8=7 and 7=6 and 6=5 then and 5=4 and 4=3 and 3=2 and 2=1 and 1=0 then 8=0 and we're undefeated.
  9. O.o Can someone edit the title to "Anyone lived in or visited..." Heh.
  10. In the prequels, he was The Chosen One -- the subject of a Super Big Deal Prophecy. I guess what I mean is it feels like time for the central hero to do big things without being the Hero Foretold. This line isn't spoken in TFA, but it is from the trailers and I think maybe it paints an accurate picture of Rey for us: "Who are you?" "I'm nobody." Also, I'm not sure about the canon status of this, but there was some suggestion that Anakin was conceived by the Will of the Force, or something bizarre like that. His mother says there was no father, and she couldn't explain it, in EP1. A now no-longer-canon book about Darth Plagueis is more explicit that Plagueis's nefarious efforts resulted (unintentionally) in Anakin's conception. Even if that's not true, he was definitely treated throughout the prequels as the Child of Destiny. Palpatine eludes to this in one of the best scenes of the prequels when he's at that "play" with Anakin with the creepy music. It's one of my favorite scenes of the series actually. The setting was great, the Palpatine actor was great and Hayden was fine. Honestly the only badly acted stuff was when he was with Padme. The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise Palpatine talking about it like it's some story from history is great. Palpatine is the only one who knows the story. He killed him, within the last 25 years if it's true Plagueis created Anakin.
  11. I'm thinking of applying for a job there. I like that it's 4 hours away from both Boulder and Yellowstone. I don't like that it's in the middle of nowhere and not quite big enough for me (60,000). I like the size of Lincoln. Anyhow, I'm wondering if I can get opinions on it.
  12. So... does Finn have force powers? I'm thinking not. I think he just got lucky and got to use a lightsaber 'cause Rey was away. Just found out today he's British. I think that's part of why I liked his voice so much. I thought he was American but there was something different about it.
  13. No, they didn't HAVE to. But they did and I would wager part of the reason was at the urging of Harrison Ford. Kylo Ren already had an evil charm about him, but killing his father cemented him as someone the audience will hate. Darth Maul was a badass and deserved to live. Yeah, I guarantee Ford had a huge input in Solo getting killed. He's wanted it since Jedi. I don't even think it as urging or input. I think he said point blank "I'll only do the movie if you kill me off."
  14. Are you saying they picked a black actor so they wouldn't offend anyone? Also, did you watch the movie? If we don't count the original cast there were only 3 lead characters. One white dude, one black dude, one white girl.
  15. Except everything points to her being Luke's daughter. She's a good pilot despite a lack of experience. She's mechanically inclined. She has a do it herself, kind of naive attitude. All of those are Luke and Anakin. Luke's saber calls to her. Han takes a liking to her, after being standoffish like ANH. He even gets a smerk on his face when he sees her escaping, like he's seen that tenacity before. The biggest part was when Kylo read her mind, why would she have longed to be where Luke actually was and not remember him, thinking he's only some legend? But to me maybe the most subtle hint was the reveal of the Falcon. The first time Luke saw it he called it a piece of junk. When Fin and Rey are running to the other ship she calls it a piece of junk as well. I think by everything you mean to say there are a few possible indicators that she's Luke's daughter. There are definitely things that point to her not being his daughter, one of which I've already mentioned. Jedi are not supposed to have kids and the one that did turned to the dark side.
  16. I have a theory on Rey. We have the scene where she touches Luke's lightsaber and has all of these memories, including one of a ship leaving her on her planet and another with Kylo Ren in it. And she's always waiting for her family to come back. (I don't think she ever mentioned a mom or a dad, just her family). I believe it was after this that the orange lady says something about the belonging that she seeks could be with Luke. We have another scene with Kylo Ren where he's reading her mind and he finds out she's desperate for a father figure and sees Han as that even though she's only known him for a day. The actor who plays Kylo is 32. The actor who plays Rey is 23. We know from comments made in the original trilogy that Luke was really old to begin his training. He was 19 at the time of A New Hope. We also have scenes in the new trilogy with Younglings who were 3-6 years old. Then in Force Awakens we hear that Luke was training Jedis until one of them went bad (Kylo) and ruined everything. From the conversations Han and Leia had, and Kylo had with his master, it seems to me that he went bad quite awhile ago. I would guess during his angsty teenage years, so 15-18 years old. My theory is that Rey was a Youngling training with Luke. She could have been around 5 at the time. But she was only there a little while before the fall out happened and any of the remaining trainees/Padawans were sent away to protect them/prevent them from joining Kylo and the dark side. I think that's young enough to only have a foggy recollection of what happened during her childhood. My guess is she was an orphan before she became a Youngling and has no memory of her real family. I don't buy the idea that she's Leia's daughter because there was no hinting of that in their interaction. I also don't buy that she's Luke's daughter. After what happened to Anakin I think he would try his hardest to be a "good" Jedi and follow all the rules which includes not falling in love.
  17. I firmly believe Leonardo Dicaprio could have been cast as Anakin and it still wouldn't have changed anyones perception of the prequels.Hayden sucked in Episode 2 for the most part. He was okay in Episode 3 though after he turned, portraying evil Vader pre mechanics he did well. Jar Jar sucks no matter how you spin it. I agree. He acted the way he was told to act.I don't agree with your earlier assessment that it was a suicide mission or whatever. Lucas decided that he should control every aspect of the movies whereas with episodes 5 and 6 he wasn't the director and didn't write the screenplays. He also completely misunderstood what people liked about the first trilogy. It could have been way better than it was. (Although I liked Ep. III). I've seen him in interviews saying Empire is the worst movie and he doesn't like it. He has a huge ego (for obvious reasons). Lucas lost the pulse, no question there. But it didn't matter who directed/produced them, they were destined to fail no matter who had the final say on how the stories unfolded. Don't agree with that at all. They were destined to not live up to the originals. If that's failure, then ya. But they were not destined to "fail" nearly as much as they did.
  18. One thing I think that would've helped even with the Hayden Christensen problem is having Anakin grow up after 30 minutes instead of having a whole movie with a 10 year old lead. I tended to enjoy his scenes with Obi Wan and we could have had more.

  20. This, and the acting by Hayden Crhistiansan and Natalie Portman was terrible. Oh, and Jar Jar stunk. I'll always blame Lucas for that. I think they acted how he told them to act (see Portman in other movies) and they were working with his cheesy lines. Somehow between the original three and episode I he forgot what real life relationships are like.
  21. Well, to play devil's advocate they've been under an opressive regime for 55 or so years. There is no way the empire let any planet who wanted to build weapons/spaceships. The ones they did let build these things for the empire were likely very prosperous and enjoyed their time under the empire. The ones that weren't allowed probably did not make any advances in that area and may have even lost the art of making even old spacecrap. On top of that it's always seemed like empire stuff was better or that rebellion fleet was older models from pre-Empire times. So at RotJ time we're talking about decades since anyone not friendly with the Empire has built new stuff. Going back to the timeline, they've only had 32 years to build spaceships, which isn't that long, and according to A New Hope, little spaceships can only launch from a planet or some kind of big space station/carrier. Interplanet travel would be a pain in the ass unless you had a lot of carriers and those likely take much longer to build and are more expensive as would any big attacking spaceships.
  22. It was always reported that he did great in practice, so maybe the players don't see him as being someone that dropped a high proportion of passes last year. He is definitely who I saw as the most improved player. But Dzuris I had never heard of and he made quite a few plays.
  23. It's obvious they purposely did a pseudo remake, and I'm totally fine with it.
  24. dang. I just got a B+ in freshman soc and I was pissed about that grade. I agree though, I had little interest in the class.I was in college before grade inflation so that's another excuse:) The "Drugs and Society" class was interesting if they still offer it. Does anyone know how much control the coaches have over the grade standard? I was wondering if Riley upped the ante. It's possible but it doesn't make sense to me to have the standard any higher than just not going on academic probation, and making sure there are required tutoring hours and that kind of thing.
