  1. I've always been excited when Nebraska's faced undefeated teams. I was excited when we beat Missouri in 2010. We were undefeated at the time. I don't think people are excited to beat Iowa just because our record isn't good.
  2. I wish the Sun Bowl had a B1G tie in seeing as I'll be 2 miles from there during that game.
  3. You will also find them on the campuses across aMErica in the Liberal/Progressive/Socialist Free Zones. I'm not sure if I get it. The way I read this: Liberal Free, Progressive Free and Socialist Free. I.e. the only asshats in the world exist in places where there are no liberals, progressives or socialists. I have to say you are so wrong. There are plenty of liberal, progressive and socialist asshats, just like there are plenty of non liberal, non progressive and non socialist asshats. Well we're certainly entitled to our opinion, aren't we. While we're at it, if it took and day and a half for a chicken and a half to lay an egg and a half, how long would it take for a grasshopper on crutches to kick the dill seed's out of a pickle? So you're denying the fact that there are liberals and non liberals who are asshats? Only liberals are asshats? There's not a single asshat who's not a liberal? The Harry Potter characters did the same thing when they said there isn't a witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin.
  4. Your fact is that 2 muslims committed a rape. Of course I believe that happened. I'm sure it's happened lots of times. One anecdote about muslims committing a rape doesn't really apply to the conversation. I don't see any other reason why you would make the post you made unless you think it means something more than it does. Anyone could reply to your post by mentioning a Swedish man/woman committing a rape. That's why anecdotal evidence isn't worth much.
  5. Here's a link to the interview: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/president-obama-vows-completely-decapitate-isis-operations/story?id=35173579 And the portion of it that has what you're talking about: It's a heck of a lot less damning when you actually read the full context. At the time I read some of these quotes I was assuming he meant geographically, as in they weren't expanding the borders of their "country." That was the main concern because they were rounding people up, killing/enslaving them and then continuing to expand their borders. A group that's able to do that is much more scary than a group who's able to send a few suicide bombers somewhere for isolated attacks. ISIS has killed between 10,000 and 25,000 people on the ground in their territory. It was already posted in post #73. And the underlined above is why your type of thinking and these atrocities will be happening at a theater near you. Don't be scared though, I'm sure you have a "Safe/Gun Free Zone" nearby. You did not post the full context, which is understandable since it wasn't in the article. I'm not sure what you get out of my line of thinking from that. I don't think nothing should be done to defend people against terrorist attacks in the US and other countries, and I know that lots of things are done to defend against terrorist attacks. But keeping them from taking over more and more land is the prioirty right now. People who are able to do that are much stronger. Taking out their base of operations should lessen their ability to do these things.
  6. Might be fun to play Missouri. They're 5-5.

  8. I just pointed out in the post you're replying to that you need to know more than just the statistics. They can be taken out of context. In the very example I posted from that article they were taken wildly out of context and completely ignoring Sweden's policy change on how they count rapes. It doesn't JUST matter that they are based on facts if you don't have the whole story. I'm sure there are lots of negatives to this influx of immigrants. It's just hard to get anything out of such a horribly slanted article. Is this the same way you count them? "The woman was sexually assaulted and raped twice by two different men in Strängnäs over the course of an hour. Two Arab asylum seekers have now been indicted for the crimes at Bert Karlsson’s asylum accommodation Hotel Mälarblick." https://themuslimissue.wordpress.com/2015/11/11/sweden-muslim-refugees-spat-at-victim-after-multiple-coordinated-double-gang-rape-and-assault/ I don't understand the question. If one is trying to prove that rape has increased in Sweden by 1,472% because of its embrace of multilculturalism (or muslim immigrants), one cannot just ignore the other variables. Anecdotal evidence doesn't help prove it, no matter how sad it is. You can't let emotion influence you when trying to find the truth about these things.
  9. I did too. Hopefully we can similarly pressure Beathard. I'm a little worried about his running ability but he did get sacked a couple times.

  11. It's really hard to imagine being that way. Your team needs 40 yards and has 30 seconds left. PLENTY of time to go tie the game. Your field goal kicker's good. You have all the time in the world AFTER the game to go scream at the refs. You have all the time in the world over the next week to complain to the highers up about the officiating. The play happened 4 plays ago. The refs can't do anything to change it. How can a person not be able to hold it in for that long? He has to be missing an important part of his brain that stops regular people from being that way.
  12. Most of the evidence they linked was also from biased sites. For instance the Sweden rape/immigration thing. Yes there is a correlation. But Sweden also defines rape different than a lot of other countries and they started changing this 20+ years ago. For example if a woman is raped 5 times by the same person, Sweden counts it as 5 rapes but lots of other countries count it as 1 rape. When they made some of these changes the number of rapes in that country "skyrocketed" but without having that underlying information you're missing out on the true meaning. I shouldn't have to say this but correlation does not imply causation. I read a lot of the article and some of the links, so no ignorance here that I know of.
  13. I actually don't know the full story on this naming of things. Is Obama actually refusing to call them muslim extremists (as in he said or implied he doesn't want to?) or is he just not wording it that way?
  14. Frontpage Mag's 2010 "Person of the Year" was the Tea Party Movement. Frontpage Mag's 2009 "Man of the Year" was radio and then-Fox News host Glenn Beck. I'm really gonna hang onto this article's every word.
  15. If their parents are this "proactive," why don't they start their own troop? The minimum size is 5 members. Or they could change things about the one their daughters are already in.
  16. This argument went back and forth over and over in the game thread. It's not solely on the coaches and it's not solely on the QB. The coaches know what they have with Armstrong. A QB who completes 50% of his passes and too often makes bad decisions. It's up to them to help him with the play calls. Unfortunately I don't remember what type of pass it was but imo it should either be playaction or a run on first down with that lead near the end of the 2nd quarter.
  17. Um. You haven't been paying attention.
  18. 38 rushes vs. 21 passes = incessant passing? Yes, at times. Or just passing when we shouldn't have. When you're up 21-0 with 4 minutes left in the half and your run game is doing decently, run it on first down. We passed it on 1st down two series in a row IIRC and threw 2 interceptions.
  19. The Pac-12 just knocked themselves out of the playoff. Hilarious scenario: FSU beats Florida, Florida beats Alabama. No 1 loss teams in Pac12 or SEC. More fun: Stanford beats Notre Dame, North Carolina beats Clemson, Nebraska beats Iowa, Michigan beats Ohio State. They pick the 4 teams out of a hat of 15 teams and whoever gets picked goes.

  21. That makes no sense. If you lived in Iowa it would.... Doubt it. That'd make me want even more for Nebraska to be the one who breaks their hearts.
  22. I don't for a second believe Bin Laden interpreted the teachings of Islam literally. I believe he wanted revenge for the things he believed the U.S. had done, and he told his followers things they could get behind. Since his followers were very religious then convincing them their religion says it's right was the best way to go.
